Jose Mourinho Sack Watch

Remember him at a press conference saying we are not going to win the league this year. But next year we will be competitive. Jose assumes the aura of a prophet. Once that's punctured he seem very very ordinary.

He is too good a manager not to turn this around.

It needs to happen quickly then.

A good manager doesn't constantly and publicly blame his players. He did it again last night and it really does appear as though he's lost the dressing room. No way back from that.

I don't think he wanted to go back to Chelsea in the first place, Now he is going through the motions. I think he is going to have to take a break from Football after this job because he looks like he is not enjoying it anymore.

His managerial ability is not in question, the problem is he seems to have lost the dressing room. First John Terry, then a staff member and since then constant pops at his players. Doesn't matter how good a manager you are until the players are on your side you'll be fighting a battle you can't win.

Then play the kids. No player is bigger than the manager(at least that should be). Get back 10 of the 100 players on loan, play the other hungry players and see how it goes. I don't think it will be worse than against Bournemouth and the likes..

It was clear that after we won the title our players were becoming complacent.
Even if this were true (which I doubt), this statement looks seriously to be done only in hindsight. There was no way Jose or for that matter anyone would think that the players would be complacent or lose motivation for another title race during the transfer season.

And again lack of big name transfers, is no reason for players not to be motivated.

The thing with Mourinho is I get the impression he doesn't have the patience to work with young up and coming players. They've got a spectacular youth set up and nobody looks like they will break through. He wants immediate results and with youngster you have to be very patient and nurturing of them. Fergie & Wenger are two managers known for bringing young talent through, how often did you ever see them publicly shame younger players? Or even senior players for that matter, they would take the heat themselves without a second thought to protect their players. Mourinho is the opposite, he'll take all the credit but doesn't like taking the stick. People go through bad patches and you need to be patient and make them feel that you're there for them. Mourinho is one of the best when it comes to taking a world class set of players and getting them to perform. There is more to management then that though, it can't be coincidence that 3 of his last 4 jobs he has lost the dressing room.

No player should be bigger than the manager and that argument might stack up better if the manager in question wasn't Mourinho. He always makes things about him and again this season he's putting the blame on the players.

I'd agree with this, the younger more excitable Mourinho is no more. What you have now is a shallow shell of his former character.

The way he has ignored their academy should be enough for the sack IMO. Chelsea have the best crop of young players in the country at the moment and they are being ignored.

Ive said it before in this thread I think, but it really reinforces for me the scale of SAF's achievements and the difference between him and other great managers. Mourinho built incredible teams, but SAF was able to keep doing it over and over again and while the quality ebbed and flowed to a certain extent, he never allowed it to fall below a certain level. That is extraordinary. And Mourinho is underlining that by his spectacular inability to achieve the same.

:lol::lol::lol: This is amazing!

Oh Jose! Never change. At this point he has to be trolling Roman. It can only get better if they fire him, he has another public meltdown, and they hire EBJT as his replacement until the end of the season.

Chelsea won the Youth UEFA Champions League last season. They have a very good batch of youths right now. Can't believe Jose has not given more chances to the youngsters. He'd probably prefer to spend big money to bring in players who are already at the top of their game. He's spent more money than any other manager in history and that is his secret to success.

I can't see what he's trying to achieve by calling his players' performance frustrating other than damage limitation on his reputation, which makes me wonder if at this point even he thinks he's about to be shown the door. It's been clear for a while that he's lost the dressing room, and comments like that are not going to help that in anyway, the only blessing for him is that it doesn't seem they can be made any worse.

I wonder if he doesn't go, how many players will be wanting to leave in the Jan window.

It does seem like anti-management. What he said was he brought them to a level beyond their normal standard last year. This shows his genius, the predictiability of the situation when the squad wasnt added to. But theres another theme which came out in the R5L interview last night, that they are not humble enough, that they don't look at Leicester and Bournemouth as equals, that they don't try hard enough. But how do you fix that?

Real life doesnt work like that.

The player's his fallen out with this season publically

Terry,Hazard, Costa,Matic, Fabregas...and thats just the ones we know about. That's Chelsea's spine. Bench them and they will want out , and replacing them would be quite difficult and costly. And what happens when Jose falls out with even more players. At Real Madrid he fell out with Pepe, Cristiano Ronaldo, Ramos and Casillas. Imagine the carnage caused if they followed that suggestion.

It's much easier to replace 1 man, and that has worked quite well for Chelsea in the past.

I think they need to replace Hazard and Costa, Terry and Falcao, replace them with on-fire younger versions ... and bring Eva back and ... Jose needs to shave.

I tend to disagree with that. How many millions since Fergie left?

Manager should come first - only of course when he has a proven track record. Not Moyes...

How would people feel about Jose coming in to replace Lvg? I remember he was a popular choice when Fergie retired.

If Pep isn't available, then Mourinho and Ancelotti would be my first choices. Mourinho is still a great manager, despite the meltdown this season.

From a RAWK poster. Good grief...

Duncan Castles was allegedly the journalist who asked Mourinho after the Bournemouth defeat whether there was 'anything we could do to help make this better for you' (tweet from Michael Cox of the Guardian).

This is the 2nd job in a row he's managed to fall out with half his squad by the looks of it. The last 6 years he's won 2 league titles, which is good obviously but earlier in his career he won 6 out of a possible 7 - he's definitely lost some of his aura of undoubted and consistent success. He's become more and more voilatile both with the media and his players. I wouldn't want him here when he seems to be in process of a complete meltdown, there will be other options.

It really wasn't. I was saying it in the newbies during pre season. The fact that we had an extra week off, the way the players looked during ore season and also the way we played after we wrapped up the league. The age old saying "Strengthen from a position of strength" was absolutely correct and myself and a lot of other Chelsea fans (Orc included) said we needed signings.
