Jose Mourinho Sack Watch

Wow, I can't take posh speaking/well spoken people seriously when they're angry.

What makes it funnier is how deluded he is, believing in the "agenda" nonsense. This particular problem of sounding funny when angry due to being well-spoken afflicts me as well, but it makes large rants much more palatable.

Maybe he should team up with Brendan so they can't both not learn from each other.

I honestly do not get the sheep mentality of some of the Chelsea fans. Yes Jose has done a lot for the club and yes he's a great manager but right now they're 15th almost a third of the way in with a possible mutiny and Jose showing his ass almost every week.

I get not wanting to continue the coaching carousel but at this rate Chelsea will be relegated.

No we won't. He will turn it around.

Yes, they should fire Jose and convince SAF to come out of retirement and manage Chelsea... you know since its delusion o'clock already, as your post suggests.

They are completely right to. He has a proven track record, helped them rise from relative obscurity to a footballing powerhouse. They aren't going to recruit better.

If they didn't stand by him, it would be strange.

It's called credit. He earned it.

Truth be told, they haven't got much to gain by getting rid now. They're almost certain to qualify in the CL. In the league they can only get better, or, at worst, if things don't improve in the the next couple of months, a new manager coming in January will still have plenty of time to take them to a safer position. With the squad they have, it's an inevitability. Damage for the season is done.

I reckon waiting a while longer, and with reduced pressure (support from fans / league campaign screwed already), things may turn around.

Plus, Carlo's pretty much ruled himself out.

They're obliged to sing about him, otherwise one of their three songs will fall into disuse.

They dont have a choice.

Agreed. If there were plenty of top tier managers readily available, I think he'd be under a lot more pressure than he currently is... Assuming Carlo is out of the question, if he were to go, who could possibly replace him?

Well...dont think there is any,Rodgers/Redknapp lol as interim or something, think they will be forced to hold on him in any case.

I think Chelsea will gain so much more in future if he stays on throughout this difficult period.

He's trying to build a dynasty. There are bound to be bad spells. It's better to have them early.

I hope he can take my opinion on the chin.

A bit over stating surely, as they finished 2nd the season before he joined and had already won cups under previous managers. The squad he inherited was full of top class players he didn't have to buy that many to make up his best 11 in the championship win. Plus it was RDM that led them to a Champions league title not Jose. I think he does a great job at clubs and has a brilliant track record but he should not be credited with the rise from obscurity to powerhouse. Romans money has brought the elite players to Chelsea and once it is gone they will slide away. Footballing powerhouse they are definitely not!

Trying to build a dynasty by hardly never building youth, selling a load of good young players and continually using his 30+ age players even when their form is average.

He hasn't got a clue how to build a dynasty.
He hasn't got a clue how to motivate his players over the long term.

Same, imagine this place if we were 15th (even if LvG won us a title)

A better comparison would be if we were 15th under SAF. I think the fans would try and rally behind him like Chelsea fans are doing with Jose.

No. Jose wasn't there as long, didn't accomplish nearly as much, and the football is very different. The legacies are very different. If LvG wins a title this year and next year goes 15th until November there would be a mutiny on this board.

I still think the majority of our fans would support him, but people are already calling for his head.

Surely Jose is closer to SAF than LVG in terms of the affinity Chelsea fans have for him and his place in their history books? He's their most successful manager.

And I'm sure there's mutiny on Chelsea boards as well. That doesn't mean anything and is very different from what happens at the stadium.

You're talking about things that haven't happened. How do you know the outcome of what would happen?

Mourinho obviously wasn't at Chelsea as long but put it in to some perspective.

He's been at Chelsea for 5 full seasons (not counting this 1 as it's not over) and won 3 League Titles, an FA Cup and 2 League Cups that's just over 1 trophy a season. LVG has been at United for 1 full season and got us back to 4th. Even if you count these seasons and they both left with CHelsea out the CL and United in it Mourinho would always be remembered at Chelsea more fondly than LVG at United.

He's not as successful as Fergie was and no he won't be at Chelsea as long but to them he is their most successful manager and I'd be surprised if Fergie was at United and we were 15th there'd be reactions like there was on Tuesday night towards LVG decisions.

I always thought Mourinho would stay at Chelsea a long time this time around. I still think if they persist with him he will come good, and it is in Chelsea's long term interests to do that. But obviously I am less convinced he will stay for the long term now.
