Then he should have given a better list. To think he just needed 4 players was foolish to begin with . Old jose would not have been tolerating average players, here he is. Last season too he was generous with players and gave them opportunity to prove (fair enough), again he is doing the same. Average players won't win you the title. He thinks fellaini is some makelele and lingard is some sneijder.

Fellaini has been very good this year. Matic was a great buy to partner alongside Pogba, and we obviously have Rashford and Martial handling the LW by commitee. The problem isn't transfers, its how our actual players are performing.

I'm afraid to say it as I very rarely knee jerk but I'm not sure this is going to end well. This season.

Today makes the abomination of last week even more painful. Really really disappointed.

We need 3 goals and he's taken Mata and Martial off instead of Lingard. Yes, the aforementioned players have been quite bad, but they'd still offer more than Jesse.

Mata was poor and Martial is on a yellow spoiling for a fight! It was the right decision but.....it’s a squad of too many average players.

Came so so close to getting a point in the second consecutive tough tough away game. Awesome effort

Happens at every club he manages. It is not uncommon. This isn't the usual crisis he is part of, this is a shock but it happens in football weekly.
His post match presser will, if history is repeated, be full of excuses. Thats the part of him i dislike, hypocritical and full of excuses

Needs to grow a pair and go back to what LVG tried to initiate; a God damn 352 with 2 attackers. For all our shi*e we looked better due to that and our urgency in the second half.

Don't understand his decisions today. Why did we not start with a 4-3-3 to give ourselves extra defensive cover? We saw how easily Liverpool outnumbered us last Saturday. Why did he think it'd be any different this weekend?

His distrust of young players is leading him to refuse to give McTominay a run in the absence of other fit players, even though we badly need a third centre midfielder. As for Lindelof over Tuanzebe. Laughable.

Why he doesn't keep Martial on and take Lingard off is absolutely stupid, Mikhi/Mata/Lingard should never ever play together again, just waste of space in the middle and keep us lacking in wide area

Lost all faith. He just doesn’t have it anymore I don’t think.

Nah. We're in 2nd and have had one of our best starts ever.

We just need Pogba, Bailly, Rojo, and Ibra back.

We have no idea in attack and no cohesion whatsoever. I'll give it to Mourinho that we have worse attackers than City, Spurs, Chelsea and even Liverpool, but a good attacking manager would make the sum greater than it's parts.

We look totally devoid of ideas and inspiration.

He cost us 2 points today because he is picking the wrong guy at the back. Surely, Lindelof doesn't make the team again instead of a youth player now.

That's why we desperately beed Pogba back. Without him we appear at a loss for ideas.

He has to take more risks in our next 2 games even though we're up against Spurs and Chelsea, 5 points off and that could extend given how respective teams are performing. Chelsea more or less won the league during this period last year, had 11 or 12 wins in a row.

Can't pin individual errors on him but for the life of me I can't understand why we didn't try to cross the ball more given our only goal came from a cross, desperately need players back especially Pogba and Fellaini. Herrera and Matic is on same level as Carrick and Fletcher, never thought I'd say that.

The performances of late have definitely reverted back to last season and that is massively worrying. Injuries/missing players give some excuses but not significantly.

The question is, where does it go from here?

Nah. We're in 2nd and have had one of our best starts ever.

Just a reminder of something though. In Van Gaal's second season we were near top in November after a last minute winner against Watford away. And we all know what became of that season. Bit 'glass half empty' way to look at things perhaps but just saying. At least we have a striker like Lukaku this season.

The recent lack of goals or even looking like scoring is starting to look like last season all over again.
Think we'll be finish in the top three but we're nowhere near challenging.

I've said this a few times, so apologies to those who've read this before, but I'd let Mourinho see out his three-year contract and then get rid. He's a great short-term option as he buys well, can organise a defence and gets the players giving everything. But offensively he's awful and his tactics (big number 9, counter-attack) are rapidly becoming outdated.

Calm down. Was not Mourinho's fault that Mata fecked up. Game could have been different had that not happened.

I'd blame him today... Not necessarily for our approach (though you know, Lingard) ... But, he disrupted our attacking play with our last two games.

They are not.

I don't blame him for us going 2-0 down. That was on the individual players making mistakes. However it has to be said we've been poor since and including the Liverpool game and I think our mounting injury list is the key culprit. I do think Jose has to take some of the blame though because some of his decisions haven't helped and his lack of rotation is no good either. Maybe there is a slight hint of truth in that setting up defensively at Liverpool hindered our momentum from which we didn't recover, but really the players should be able to transition between different paradigms of play from game to game.

What's interesting now is that many have been saying beating teams like Huddersfield compensates for Jose's approach in the big away games. Now we need to beat Spurs at home, and really could do with beating Chelsea at the bridge. Man City are looking ominous right now and are playing aesthetically pleasing football too. We can't afford to give them much more leeway. I expect them to falter at some point, but we need to be up there applying the pressure to them and also ready to capitalise when they do.

If we need them to beat Huddersfield, then the problem is Mourinho. Also decision to buy Lindelof over spur's sanchez was his as well. Awful decisions.

At least he is critical of the attitude, good post match interview from him.

We couldn't match their intensity, desire and that's why we lost.

Nobody new that Lindelof was going to basically feck up badly.

Today has justified why he didn’t attack Liverpool, their attack is better than ours and we probably would have got beaten.

Individual errors have cost us the game today but there are long standing issues he hasn’t solved. Not having a left back, having only 2 midfielders who can pass the ball and no top class attacking players make performances like this inevitable.

Like the two mangers before him he is struggling to find a system and team selection where players compliment each other, it always feels thrown together. We are miles behind spurs and city in that aspect and that’s why we won’t compete
For title and they will.
We're really weak in two areas: Full-back and No.10.

Valencia is a monster physically but he lacks the guile a top full-back has and he's fairly easy to defend against. LB is obviously a massive, gaping wound.

The lack of a top-class playmaker is the main problem though, for me anyway. Mata and Mkhi aren't good enough.

To be fair to him he didn't give any excuses. He said we deserved to lose. So that is good from him. Players are fully to blame for today's loss.

Mourinho saying in the post match he's not going to be critical of his players to the interviewer, but that he's going to be critical with them personally, and looked absolutely fecking livid.
