There was warning signs against Stoke. I hope he changes it.
There were but, from I've seen under José here, as long as we win - no matter how we do it - he's alright with it. So I don't think, as of yet, he sees this formation/XI as a big issue. I wish we wouldn't wait until the worst possible scenario happens to change things up.

Have you noticed that no one in the media even mentions them lol You would think the way they love to criticize the team, they'd have picked it up by now
Honestly, I try to pay no mind to the media! It's better for your health. :D

This dude needs to understand that when we're one up we should be seeking to control the game through possession instead of dropping deep and defending at all cost.

Also we should be playing some high pressing game especially against weaker opponents.

Can't wait for him to sign that juicy new contract. Nothing better than hanging on largely through small time timewasting against Burnley.

Yawn. They could have scored another 2-3 on the counter without terrible decision making yet again. Good tactics today.

If the forward players had made the right decisions - we'd won this game easily.

He merits a lot of criticism with regards the quality - or lack thereof - of our football but today isn't the day.

Other than Jones, Smalling and maybe Lukaku, pretty much every player just decided to play like an imbecile.

You're completely missing the point, it is unacceptable to drop deep against weaker sides and let them build their attack. It's his job to pull away Pogba and tell him that he can't be that selfish.

Nothing wrong with defensive approach and defending a lead, specially away but mentality behind it is just wrong for me, yes if we had better decision making we would kill them on counter but lets be real, sometimes they look like strangers when they counter, like they dont know what they doing.

We're not defending for our lives, we invite them to open up for counter.

Martial lingard rashford are pacey players and they need space to run.

Sure it backfires sometimes, but any tactics has the possibility to backfire either way. Crystanbul for example.

When Sanchez arrives it will (until the end of the season), prove whether we just needed a star man in the final third to link it all together or that it's just a systemic issue with tactics/training. Hopefully, it's the former.

His tactics and system were all over the place again today.

So he lets a bloody excellent Mata leave Chelsea as he doesn’t rate him, joins United at a time when Mata is a shadow of his former self and then makes him virtually undroppable. It’s just bizarre.

As I saw it, we didn't drop that deep. It's also normal to get pushed back like this when you're one goal up against the home team. Burnley didn't play bad in the first half and found good spaces between our midfield and back line. After the goal we couldn't afford letting them do that, so Mourinho moved Pogba down a bit to help Matic with those areas.
But, for sure, we should have put this match to bed with a second goal. We had so many occasions where a lite more concentration and awareness would've gotten us that second and third goal. It's not Mourinho's fault the attacking players made the wrong decisions in those moments. It's all on them, and they know it.

Who would you have played instead of Mata today? He's been in good form recently and Rashford hasn't. Who else could have played?

I still worry about the lack of attacking patterns in our play, it all seems very off the cuff, but the most frustrating thing is the subs pattern, no matter what it's Fellaini instead of Herrera on at the 75 minute mark to shut up shop, and Rashford getting some minutes regardless.

although we didnt play well but I have no problem with our performances/Jose tactics today. I cant wait to see Sanchez playing alongside Lukaku, Martial and Lingard. Hopefully our attack will be more dangerous and we can score many goals in each match. and I hope Jose wont ever start Mata again after Sanchez come to the team.

Listen to this poster. When we don’t kill games off with proper decision making, it brings pressure on us towards the end of games.

Which sucks because if we take the initiative and control the game we wouldn't have to drop deep and lurk on the counter against weaker opposition.

But it's not just today, we often revert to drop deep and defend against weaker opposition when we're up by one. Imo we shouldn't be doing that and we should instead be trying to control the game through possession in those moments. But hey that's just my opinion.

Even with Sanchez we still have some weaknesses that he won't solve. There is zero creativity from midfield apart from Pogba and if he isn't playing the whole team struggles. There will be a lot of games we will struggle with even with Sanchez playing.

almost every team has this problem. How do Liverpool school goals and create chances without Pogba? Spurs too.

Jose's work here at United really is underrated and underappreciated it's not even funny. His squad building now with the Sanchez swap deal has been top notch, just compare our team before he came here and now. Yet it feels he wont get any praise for this fantastic deal.

The true successor to Fergie and couldn't be more proud to have him as our manager.

Is there a better manager when it comes to stealing transfers? I mean we suffered from it when he was at Chelsea (pedro anyone?) but now we are benefiting hugely from it.

It helps that he is friends with Mino and his own agent is the other super agent in the game. The potential network connections between the two is amazing.

Agreed. I actually think that our current fan base would act the same even with SAF if he came back. We know full well even SAF can’t keep this fanbase happy.

Yeah. Some of our fans just deserve to have LVG or Moyes as the manager tbh.

He stole Varane from us when he was at Madrid. SAF said we had a deal agreed.

He also stole Robben from us who got a tour of Old Trafford and met SAF.

Bizarre is your post.

That’s not true pal.

Zidane who was sporting director advised Perez to sign Varane.

Robben was signed before Mourinho had signed. That was more to do with Peter Kenyon.

Kenyon opened talks with PSV in summer of 2003. Then left the following month for Chelsea. He knew which players we wanted and Robben was one of them.

Ah, those were some very harsh ways to lose out.

Totally agree. The progress made by Jose should not be underestimated.

Give me a break, the way Mourinho constantly resorts to small time tactics is pathetic, something Fergie would never do.

It is a bit of both IMHO. Having a superstar doesn't hurt but at the same time there are issues in our attacking play that 1 player won't solve

Firstly, it's not 'constantly' and secondly, it's something SAF has done in the past. By all means continue though.

U mean like. Lvg? They let you keep the ball while we're scratching our head on how to break them down?

Why would I mean like during LVG era? Why some people always need to go to extremes? Why didn't you say like Guardiola for example?
