I like Jose but the lack of signings in the summer means he needs to go. We're still playing with Lingard and Sanchez up top, Jose's improved us but he doesn't have what it takes to make us into a top team again.

We need someone like Pep or Klopp. I'm not sure there are any managers like that though available.

Funnily enough if we'd gone for Jose after SAF I think we'd have been fine. He'd have signed Costa, Fabregas, Willian, Filipe Luis for us - most of those players would easily start for us. Instead we got Moyes - with Mata and Fellaini, and Van Gaal who dismantled the team and replaced it with dross.

I would take Blind over any of our current CB options.

His tacticall is not even the most thing i regret about him. Its his ruthlessness that lost me. How can we still play with Smalling Jones Valencia Young Lingard Darmian etc is beyond me. I thought after he got cleared of Rooney others will follow suit but no.
We've not going anywhere as long as those bang averages players still here. Only Fergie could work with many of those.

Won't resign, he'll want a pay off.

He's done unfortunately, we have problems everywhere at the club but we've got to at the very least get back to playing like Manchester United again. Defence needs an overhaul granted, but Utd teams of old would have still scored 2-3 themselves tonight. We need a head coach or manager that get us enjoying our football again.

Woodward can be replaced after that

Isn't it nice that you can be so naive. Woodward is a Glazer favourite. He's not going anywhere as long as he is bringing in the money.

I always loved him, but he's a deadman walking. If it's not working by his third season it'll never work, and this has the shape of his usual third season syndrome all over it.

He has to go, but not alone though. He's part of the problem but not it all. Need to take some of the heads with him, Ed, Pogba, Sanchez, Lukaku, Jones ..etc.

Did not want him at the start - was a poor manager to replace LVG as the style of football was completely different.

Played 352 today with Lingard as a striker and Herrera as a CB.

Is he really trying? Fans have been pointing out the 352 (guess what - gave us a good performance in the first half) - but did not utilise players like martial, rashford who are meant for the 352 whilst selling players like Blind too.

Please get him out of my face. People who are his fans will make all the excuses in the world - I'm just glad the people who laughed at LVG fans undying support now have to do the same with Jose.

Bye Bye - wont be missed.

@el3mel - How can you say he is not part of the probem when he plays lingard as a striker instead of not playing Rashford and martial ever in a partnership upfront and then playing herrera as a god-damn 3rd CB when he has decent options of adding defensive quantity ( if herrera was good enough for CB then why not damn Blind or Lindelof?)

Stop trying to back Jose - he has a method & that method is ultimately not fit for United. We are not a club that will except 6 Lukakus and 5 fellaini's - if you think that his football is diffferent to that then it is ultimately blind, delusional support to Jose.

Third season at the club and no attacking game plan, no idea of best eleven, no cohesion, no identity and defence now looks a shambles.

I don’t see how he turns this round or any hope for long term and it’s question of when not if he will go this season.

I feel sorry for him today. When Lukaku missed the sitter I knew it could be a long day. But it is Jose's fault for buying him. We need a world class striker instead of a CB. I mean priority wise.

Watching his interview and it feels, again, that he does not want to be here. Give him unlimited funds and players who have been produced by other, more patient managers and he will win you a few things, but when it comes down to committing to the hard slog of building teams gradually and developing players he doesn't want to know.

I mean he really stood up for the team. After the game he went to the players to comfort them, got to the fans to thank them for support. We even played “the modern” game of high pressing as everyone want to see us. A bit of luck and better performance of some players were the fact why we weren’t succesful.
Lukaku may be the hard worker, but missed the key chance, we saw that Smalling should be our first choice cb, maybe starting with Bailly. We’ll get better, Jose knows how to give players confidence. Nothing is lost yet.

I did not want him as manager but I´ve supported him until this summer when he was behaving and talking in my estimate as no Man Utd manager should do. If you look at his signings they are:
Pogba - Not worked out as he seems to be of the opinion that he can decide himself when to show up to work and be bothered
Lukaku - Not bad but plenty of room for improvement
Fred - Early day´s but I am not very impressed, he´s not a playmaker/passmaster in any way
Matic-He was ok up to Christmas last year but he´s slow
Mkhitaryan-Did not work out
Bailly-Thought he would be ok but he continues to have stinkers like the Brighton game and he´s not been able to shake that off
Lindelof-Not good enough for United and I think both Tuanzebe and Fosu Mensah would be a lot better
Dalot - Looking forward to see him
Grant - Backup
Sanchez-Flop, there is no other way to describe it

So there is no wonder he was not backed up in transfers this summer and he must be on the way out. We simply do not have good enough players and when De Gea is the player of the year on a regular basic it say´s all about the status of the squad.
We have to get in a new manger, clear out the deadwood, gives young players a chance and face the facts. Having Fellaini coming on as the "Plan B" option and starting to hoof it forward is just pathetic. The only chance he would have had getting close to our previous prober teams would have been as a water carrier.

Dead man walking. Gutted for him but it's time to go.

Saw the post match interview, it felt like it was his closing statement for his time at United. I don't think he did much wrong this game, but key moments went against us.

It felt a lot like the 4-0 loss at the bridge, we were good for a few goals but ended up getting spanked.

Great line that in the press conference 3-0 you know what this means 3, I have 3 titles more than the other 19 managers in the league combined :lol:

You know he’s had that in the back pocket since Wenger has retired.

Do feel for him, that first half had promise, we played more like the United you want to see, I do feel like he feels like he is walking a tight rope so is doing a lot of stuff for the public eye but credit to him as this is what I want to see in a united manager, just sort the individual mistakes from this game and win the, and it will be all good.

I like it. That side of him has disappeared in recent years, we could really do with him getting his bite/arrogance back. Thats the Jose that gets results and wins titles.

Off his chops in the post match stuff.

Embarrassing the club on and off the pitch. All about him.

It wasn't great, it was embarrassing. He won all three at a different club in a different era. He's not earned any respect at United, where he's failing miserably.

feck off with listing your previous achievements. Just like after the embarrassment against Sevilla.

Wont blame him much tonight. Our players need to hand their head in shame specially pogba and lukaku.

You mean Morata was better? Or belotti?

Mourinho is a good manager and he's still getting something from this team. The way the players came out in the first half you can't say they aren't responding to what he's telling them. The problem comes when we need a bit of composure from the players, either in front of goal or when defending, that everything falls to pieces. I'm not sure that's a Mourinho problem specifically but if he can fix it then this season does not have to be a write off.

Are you suggesting that there were no better players available or that he's just not looking at signing anyone who's good enough? Honest question. This is what his issues in the transfer market are boiling down to, for me.

Can not say line up and tactics and system was to blame today. Pogba was played in a 3, the full backs were projecting well. We were shambles in both boxes.

Name them if there was any.

Fair to say that Jose put the team in a better position compared to last week. Players need to step up and hold themselves more accountable throughout the match. The resolve in this team when something negative happens is so poor.

The man has lost it, even Wenger didn’t have such outbursts. I still want him till end of season coz it gives us a chance to finish above Arsenal

He got that tactics right in terms of playing the 352 - which in my opinion is what we should play in every game because players like Martial rashford bailly, Lindelof, Pogba and so many more look stronger in a 352 that a 4231.

He changed it today and we played magnificently - however Jose played Lingard & Herrera instead of a proper ST and a CB - ultimately allowing Spurs to capitalise on the chances.

I just wanted the damn manager to play the 352 with the players at his disposal - but he never had a proper understanding of his squad & wanted Lukaku to play as a sole striker whilst other strikers are made to play as wingers on the bench; just for example. How would you have felt if Rashford or Martial was the man next to Lukaku & had the chance he missed? How would you have felt if Bailly or Blind played as the 3rd CB today instaed of Herrera? - would they have left him onside?

Whilst messi does not play as a striker anymore - he would never had been a striker in his life if Jose was his lifetime manager; always a winger. Ultimately - that is a flaw to his understanding of football that resonantes with his tactics and the type of squad and player he goes for,

He wants a strong, old teacm who can win a match playing in a 4231 - a simple but effective type of football. Football cant accomadate that type of simplicity anymore with the type of forwards that clubs tend to use and also by pure competition of how many top clubs are in the PL with top tactical managers.

Today's performance came from the tactic of playing 352 - this isnt a suprise; people have been asking for this since the first year Jose got here, he has used it in pre season - but he either does not use it when we need it or makes some awful decisions to go with it by picking the wrong players.

He’s done. Even on days like this when it seemed like he got it right and we would be able to get a victory after that first half performance it all turned to shit in the second half. He doesn’t have the patience to fix this and he doesn’t have the trust of board to get the necessary resources. We will have to go for a new manager who will at least have the latter.
