I quite rate Pickford, at least compared to numerous posters here, but for the prospective price, and given other promising options with slightly more...composure in their distribution and decision-making when called to sweep, this would be another of the club's perversely bad judgement calls, much like their inability to navigate the midfielder/back-up wide fwd/striker market this summer if most prominent rumours are at least partially true..

Alan Nixon (reluctantnicko) is quite reliable as far as I'm aware.
I think there are better goalkeeping options out there than Pickford but I do think he'd represent a significant upgrade on De Gea. If he really would be available at £30 million, I think that'd be quite a reasonable price tag as well.
Price is the issue. Without a release clause, there is little chance he is going for 30m. His distribution is probably the second issue. Better than de gea though, but the fact that we are in for him just confirms how lousy we are at spending money.
