Crap again when he came on. Hope he’s not starting against Tunisia, while Loftus-cheek isn’t brilliant he offers one hell of a lot more.
Like Lingard gives a shit about this friendly. He only comes to play when it matters.

Lingard doesnt have and will never have the quality in the final third to be a starter attacking player for a club that aspires to be one of the best in the world, however he could be a very good squad option in a more box to box role if he could adapt his game. Obiously its not his fault that mourinho plays him every game. Thats speak of how bad the quality of our squads have dropped in the last 5 years

We know he can score, its just one of those games.
Its his influence on a game that's usually questioned and Tunisia just can't handle his movement.

I believe this game is proving my point...

Been really good. Made great runs. If people want to moan about a player lacking composure in front of goal move on to the Sterling thread (if there is one).

out of those 4 chances you would call only the second one as a very good one and in that he really needed to finish better. He is playing well, this system suits him.

Looked our best player up to now, by some distance. Got in some very good positions and should have a goal (or two) and an assist.

I always say it: his movement is world class. Finishing has been off, but he's causing Tunisia so many problems.

It’s not unlucky when you keep missing chances.

He’s been great off the ball and his movement is superb but the important part of the game is putting the ball in the goal.

Exactly, if he scores one suddenly it's a great performance. Whereas the other two have done nothing of note which is by far the bigger issue.
Ali has made some decent runs... Stirling has been gash though in fairness he's received a lot of passes with his back to goal which is not what you want him to be doing... tbf Henderson is the one who is worrying me more... sloppy... surprised he started ahead if dier

Weird one with Sterling. Don't think the position suits him. Could be said for a few of the players though in fairness, Southgate has decided this system then forced players in to fit...

He'd be better playing rashford up top with kane

His composure in front of goal is what prevents him being more than a decent player.
He just strikes the ball casually, almost like his personality.
Really frustrating.

He sums this English team up. Stone average the new Tom Cleverley once he’s at West Ham or the likes he’ll never be near the international stage. Totally anonymous in build up and when in good positions wasteful.

Exactly. Missed easy chances in the first half and went missing when we needed him in the second.

His movement is the only good thing, the moment he gets the ball he screams averageness.

I instantly put 20 on him to score the next goal after Kane put England ahead. It’s all fine and well saying he needs to work on his finishing. Look at his goals for us this year. Some absolutely class finishes. He has it in his locker, he just needs consistency.

I love Jesse, in many ways he's the heart of the current Man Utd squad, but today we saw the same lack of composure we've seen in recent months for United. Only now there's not Mourinho to blame for it. Lots of chances tonight, wasted all of them. Tonight you see why so many right wingers are being linked with us. His movement is superb but it doesn't matter if you have no idea whether he'll do something profitable as a result of it.

Yeah but he is consistent just happens he’s consistently shite.

Thankfully Kane scored. However did anybody notice when during a cutback he shouted rashford to leave it when he had a clear scoring chance, while he was surrounded, Rashford seemed pretty pissed about it. Why does he freeze infront of goal? And all his decision making becomes stupid specially infront of goal?

Pretty much exactly this. Really like Jesse and he's a really valuable player for us, but he's way too erratic in front of goal.

Today we got away with it, but in big game you might only get 1 half chance all game, and you need to be able to rely on players to take it.

It’s what you do with the ball that is more critical that the running off it and lingard is poor on the ball.

I do hope we sign someone of quality for that right side this summer.

He wasn't the only one who didn't finish his chances as he should have buried at least one.

Was much better than Alli and Sterling and is being played as an advanced central midfielder as part of a midfield 3.
