Jean Seri

Woody is starting to become proper gangstah.

Wouldn't be surprised if the glorious bastard lands us Dybala in the summer as well.

We and City both seems to be looking for same targets it seems.

No idea about Fred or Seri, can anyone who has watched them explain what type of players they are ?? Jose seems like he wants to play a three in midfield and is looking for that player, so can either of these two partner Pogba and Matic ??

In terms of type, they are like Modric.

Sign Seri and Fred. Replace Carrick and Fellaini.

So, out of the two of them, who do you think is better ??

I can't tell, I haven't seen Fred in a while and the sample size is fairly small since it was only in CL. But to give you an idea about Seri, he is a player that is/was able to boss the midfield against PSG with run of the mills players around him.

For fecks sake, Seri, cut your toenails and they won't get ingrown.

Fair enough, looks like a good player. How much would he cost ?? Any release clause ??

From the YouTube HL, that's too many one touch flicks in his own half. Dangerous against the gengen press he will be facing in the PL and CL.
Liverpool will surely love for City to sign him.

Some nice passes, but hard to tell from a Youtube vid. I dunno if it's the way he moves or what, but he doesn't look quite in control.

French contracts don't have release clauses but he was supposed to have a gentlemen agreement at 40m€ last summer.

Not paying too much attention to this anyway. I’d prefer if someone reliable from France said we were interested.

You might be right. Looking through some match comps and he's abit crazy to say the least.. some moments of sheer brilliance mixed with some comical stuff. Gonna watch some more and post on here.

That looks like a good value. Or maybe, we should try a cheeky swap deal with Fellaini. ;)

He almost signed for barca, but then they dropped him and signed Paulinho last summer.
Here is why he dint signed for them-
t was all set for Jean Michaël Seri to join FC Barcelona, and then, he didn’t. What happened? There was a lot of confusion at the time, but according to a few reports, the reason was because his club tried to raise his price at the eleventh hour.

Speaking on BBC Radio 5, French journalist Julien Laurens said Seri’s club Nice raised the price from 40 million to 50 million at the last moment, and that’s the only reason the Catalan club pulled out:

He has that unofficial release clause of 40 million euros in his contract, and Barça said ‘OK, we’ve watched him so many times, he suits our club perfectly. We want Seri.’ They come in with 40 million, and then the Nice hierarchy goes ‘Do you know what, today it’s 50 million for him and not 40 anymore.’ ... And Barça were like ‘you don’t do that, you don’t move the goalposts like that. You said he was 40, we bring you 40, and then you say it’s 50.’ And that’s the only reason he didn’t end up at Barcelona. And you have to feel for the guy who cried, he actually properly physically cried, because the move didn’t happen to Barcelona.

This information mainly confirms what Seri himself had said:

I went to the offices of Nice to see the leaders to know what had happened. Then I exploded! I assure you the walls trembled. The leaders of my club did not tell me anything, not even look me in the eye. It was clear that something had happened: they promised me one thing and then it turned out that they did not keep their promise, asking for more money for me.

Seri’s agent, Franklin Mala, said back in the summer that Paris Saint-Germain were to blame for this because they wanted to “f—k Barça” A report in The Guardian stated that the “unofficial release clause” did not apply to domestic competition. That convinced PSG to offer more than the 40 million, which ultimately caused the Catalans to withdraw.

Xavi said this about him in august 2017
When I was told that a Nice player was nicknamed the "African Xavi,” I followed him very closely. I watched matches and a ton of videos. I didn’t know him... and I was spellbound: I’m not used to seeing such a talent in midfield. Short passing, long passing, tactical intelligence, distance shooting, personality, organizing play, that last magic pass ... "madre mia!” He would do very well at Barça! He can play anywhere in the middle. Seri is fantastic. I can say, without hesitation, that he has what we call "Barça DNA.”

So do you suggest a more effective way to beat a press is to spend more time on the ball?

Here is why he dint signed for them-

 Amazing how much PSG fecked over Barca in one summer; stopped their pursuit of Verratti, paid Neymar''s buy-out clause, jacked up the price they wanted for Di Maria and priced them out of getting Seri.

Absolutely glorious to see that club get taken down a peg.

Yeah they have really struggled for it like...

I might be wrong but this looks like a klopp signing to me. Reckon journos have thrown in our name to spice up the story.

Heard a bit about him and how Barca really wanted him last summer, looks a serious upgrade on Herrera or Fellaini in a midfield trio and looks to be a perfect complement to Pogba and Matic.

Good player, but definitely can't do it on a cold night at Stoke:

Seri suffers from chilblains – painful and itchy swellings on the skin when the weather is cold. That could be a minor problem if he were to live in an English climate, and the Premier League suitors should be aware of the issue, just as the player himself is.

“I have ingrown toenails and when it’s cold I need special treatment,” he admitted. “I don’t see myself playing in a country where it’s cold. I hurt everywhere and I struggle to train."

Read about him last season, scouted by Barca and another club and have been compared with Xavi. I think he is ex-La Masia as well so he had been educated and trained for that kind of football. I guess that's why Pep is interested.

Not sure about Mou's interest though but if he can help the team and let Pogba wrecks havoc (more) offensively, he is very much welcomed.
