Pastore: ''Mi espejo siempre ha sido Kaká'' - Entrevistas - Don Balón

A few questions, translated with Google:

The third quote is interesting, the translation is bad but it appears as if he wouldn't want to move to Barca/Madrid to sit on the bench - but that doesn't mean he won't want to move there in the future. I've never seen him play but a lot of people rate him, however, my concern would be spending so much money on a player who will likely want to move to Spain when he's 25-26.

As long as we were successful, he'd at least have paid his transfer fee back by himself assuming we'd make a profit on him at that age, and we could then re-invest that back into the team. Four seasons out of the player wouldn't be that bad considering that after 3-4 seasons you have to look at freshening the team up again anyway.

Anyone watching him right now, playing the forward role in a 4-3-3, He's awesome... takes on 5 players, then uses a stop and go motion and just dummies them and makes a through ball... The fwd should be ashamed of not finishing it... He was so good, Genoa had to keep fouling him and man marking him...

He would be ideal for the Behind the role striker in a 4-5-1 and he's stamina is amazing too, I was very impressed with his off the ball movement and his positioning. Certainly Palermo's best player.

He had the free role for Palermo, he was simply everywhere and started all of Palermo's best moves.

Too bad they lost because an offside goal...

I hope Fergie was watching that game.

Pretty easy, Pastore would be a forward, will not have much defensive responsibilities and will be the key player in 4-3-3 as he'll need the free role to excel imo.

Rodwell would be a box-to-box type who has the stamina to run up and down to stop play and attack, he'll be the engine type player who can play in a 4-4-2 or will be the DM MF in the 4-3-3 but with the ability to roam up forward similar to Fletch.

I hope Fergie was watching that game.

You bet he was or at least his scouts were. If we are looking into signing a player and if we are ready to make an offer, you can bet your balls Fergie or his scouts will be watching the lad play!

Palermo Have Received €50 Million Bid For Javier Pastore - Maurizio Zamparini

Unknown club makes €50m request for Pastore, says Palermo chief...

Palermo have received a €50 million bid for 21-year-old Argentinian ace Javier Pastore, claims president Maurizio Zamparini.

But he was reluctant to disclose who had made the bid as both Real Madrid and Barcelona continue to be linked with the star attacker.

Speaking to Radio Kiss Kiss, Zamparini said: "Pastore? I expect him to get back to his best levels. I already have a request for €50m for him but I have not responded.

"Will he head to Napoli? If I was Aurelio De Laurentiis, I wouldn't buy him at that price."

The Sicilians welcome Milan at the weekend off the back of a five-game losing streak.

"I have told the players not to play with pressure when we take on Milan, just like Bari did last week," he said.

The league leaders visit on Saturday evening for a 20:45 CET kick-off.

That's one of the worst examples of someone trying to start a bidding war that I've seen in a while. So, you don't want to sell Pastore, its not the off season but as the president you openly come out and talk about a supposed offer, oh and for 50m euros? Oh and conveniently he hasn't responded to the supposed offer, allowing other teams to rival that completely made up bid. Give me a break.

We wont be spending 43m on a midfielder. That's pretty much evident considering that we still have to bring in a new keeper and probably a new winger too.

Why a new winger?

Napoli want to team up Hamsik with Pastore. That will be a good midfield. I hope one of them ends up here this summer.

It's funny because I'd like to do the same but at Old Trafford.

Why a new winger?

Valencia is a good winger, Nani is world class, Park is a hard worker (period), Giggs is old, Cleverley is unknown material, he may become a great winger or the next Richardson). The rest would struggle against Crawley. I dont think that bringing in a flank man is our main priority. On the other hand, if money is available then I wouldn't mind not ending up like this season were we really struggled on the flanks.

We don't need a new winger we fine there we've only struggled this season as they have been injured or on loan.

The obvious reason to get a new winger is that aside from Giggs we don't have a natural leftie. Wouldn't be too surprised if we reignited our interest in Dougie Costa.

If a €50 million bid was made I'm sure he wouldn't be debating it.

Either way it's too large of a fee for Pastore, he hasn't even played for a top club yet.

Doesn't surprise me though. I said all along before anyone on the caf had even noticed him this lad is very special. Madrid had a £21 mil bid turned down. I expect a lot of the clubs are willing to throw a lot of money around before the ffp regs come in properly. City and Chelsea really need to.

it would be similar to the price we paid for Anderson and maybe even Ronaldo, considering the fees in the Jan window

The price being talked about here is outrageous.

The lads is arguably the worlds best young talent is a far better prospect than the likes of Andy Carrol, just signed a new contract and is being courted by all the top clubs in Europe. This is the last transfer window before all the financial farplay regs come into force. Outrageous they may be, but they are understandable.

Quite honestly i'd be comfortable with the club paying this for him. As long as we can afford to.

Pastore is worth it. As i've said before; irrespective of the fee paid for him to Palermo - as soon as he joins a top team he becomes untouchable; his price would sit much higher than whatever was paid to Palermo to get him in the first place.

Rumour doing the rounds is, that the €50 mil offer came from city on the final days of the January window. As I said it's just a rumour from a few sports sites.
