Yes same here. After the Rooney saga I've given up on player loyalty anyway so lets use him and dump him (before he dumps us)
Still doubt we'll get him though.

It just seems an awful lot of money to spend and no t resolve anything. As for young, I'd prefer we promote Cleverley to play as the back up left sider.
I think the signing of Young would resolve one problem for us - namely that if Nani or Valencia are injured we don't have the option of two attacking wingers who have pace and the ability to run at the opposition fullback.
Rodwell would be worth buying IMO due to his potential and the fact that he could be reaching his potential when carrick/fletch are past their peak.
We'd still need someone else as well IMO, don't really mind who!
Is this your yard stick for potential United transfers?
Pastore at whatever price would be a bargain!
Pastore wouldn't fix our midfield. Who would he play with anyway? Fletcher? Doubt it. Anderson, too attacking. Carrick? I fecking hope not. I think if we bought Pastore, we'd still need another midfielder anyway. 30-40m is a hell of a lot of money.
I think he'd be excellent in a 4-3-3. He could work well with Anderson/Carrick/Fletcher in a 4-4-2 against the weaker sides. But the big games is what would worry me. I don't think we have a player who could compliment him perfectly in a 4-4-2.
At whatever price? Ummmm... I wouldn't pay over 25 million from him frankly, not yet anyway.
Since when was 4-4-2 our go to formation in big games?
We've seen it a little more often recently because presently we don’t have enough of a threat coming from midfield; so we compensate with an extra striker.
But its quite obvious Fergie prefers three in the middle for the big games and even now; when its not necessarily playing to our strengths - he still uses it.
For me 4-3-3/4-5-1 is a far more successful formation than 4-4-2. With Pastore we could revert back perfectly. In fact I could see a slight tweak to the team with us lining up something like this:
....Fletcher/Anderson......Carrick/Scholes.....
.........................Pastore........................
.......Valencia..............................Nani.....
..........................Rooney.......................

We played 4-4-2 in our last 2 big games.
No it does not.Well i guess that rules out signing Pastore then!?
He also said he doesn't want to go and sit on their benches too, that' why he has been turning certain sides down. I'm certain that rules them out right now. He's also said that he dreams of playing for Barcelona and they're his type of team more than Manchester.

It's the same reason he turned us down 2 season's ago. This time I believe if we go for him he would be more willing. I can' see who we have who would bench him. The only worry is we might become a stepping stone to Spain.
AgreedThe stepping stone to Spain thing doesn't worry me anymore, I'd happily use and abuse him for a few seasons and sell him on to one of their giants for double the fee we signed him for.
Yes. He turned us down before heading to Palermo while still playing in Argentina.Did he really turn us down a few years ago?......
We played 4-4-2 in our last 2 big games.
Wish people would give up on this can't play in a 4-4-2 formation nonsense, this lad will become one of the best players in the world and has more than enough ability to play anywhere across the midfield or attack.
Doubt he'll end up at United. Would be great if he did but 40mil? unproven in the prem? not quite one of the best in the world yet?
Seems far fetched for me.

yeah. I can't ever see us spending £30mil + on an argentinian midfielder whose never played in the prem.
Would never happen in a million years. Unbelievably far fetched.
Served us well then didnt it...
The fee is far fetched. Not the us going for him part.Doubt he'll end up at United. Would be great if he did but 40mil? unproven in the prem? not quite one of the best in the world yet?

Yes. But most of them he wont want to move to, for he has said repeatedly he is not moving to a club that will offer the bench to him on the regular. Also Palermo are not that rich. The proposed fee is there to deter people and help them keep him if no one is brave enough to try for him. for he is very happy there. Think how Sevilla sold Reyes. It'd doubtful Pastore will really be sold for 40m.I don't see why the fee is so far-fetched. I can see certain clubs paying that for him.
We need someone like Sahin more.
ThisWe need both.
