Great flick for Rooneys goal (definitely a pass IMO), but not been involved apart from that.

Would've loved him to have been on at the end.

He is the kind of player that won't do anything all much and pop up with a goal. He thrives on good service and we haven't been supplying him with enough chances.

Even when RVP was not at his best, I openly challenged those saying Hernandez should start ahead of him. Due to his style of play, I have seen way too many games where we effectively have 10 men on the pitch while he awaits service*

*service = being presented with the ball, in space, 15 yards or less from the opponents goal.

Didn't do much today but that's not his fault because there was barely a decent cross put into the box.

His ball control was abysmal. Januzaj played around three nice balls into his feet on the edge of the box in the first 10 minutes alone, and he failed to control it on every occasion. He was shambolic today. Factions of the support just don't like admitting to it. He was shite, and it was completely his own fault.

If he wants to be picked ahead of RVP and/or Rooney he needs to deliver the goods. He cannot complain. tbf if we had a better midfield perhaps he may get better 'service'. RVP and Rooney are players who are willing to go get the ball. Chiccho is not that type of player.

Other players contribute less but get more game time.

It's unfortunate for him that he only seems to start when we're playing a relatively weaker side.

He's had more than enough games to convince and for me he hasn't. Good bench player but anyone who thinks he's worthy of starting at a club like this week in week out needs their judgement questioned.. and the way he sulks every time when he comes off is pissing me off. If you've scored and been brilliant, fair enough but when you've been pretty invisible just walk off.

I feel sorry for him to an extent but I can also see why he gets subbed in these types of games. If you're struggling for service he's not at his best when he's asked to hold the ball up and bring others into play.

He was average today, barring the flick, apart from that did nothing to help our play at all.

Had he been in place of Welbeck, he would have scored that! :(

He was awful today, he might have missed himself, you never bloody know.

If only football was that simple, you would even make a decent premiership manager. If Welbeck was any near 100% match fit I suspect he would have started. Hernandez is best as impact sub especially in a United team that does not have a lot of controlled possession. United really missed Van Persie today.

Apart from the fact he'd have never have been able to create that situation in the first place.

You never know. His positioning is the best part of his game. Even though I was going on a hypothetical tangent there, but I would not bet against him not finishing those kinda chances. Anyway...

Though I agree about RvP, you are being very harsh on Hernandez there. As many might have said before, he is a kind of player who thrives on service. If there are no through balls fed into him, no crosses for him, there is as much as he can do. And looking at how the team played, no wonder he didn't do much today.

I don't understand the "we missed RVP" logic. Isn't yesterdays game a carbon copy of several games where we've bemoaned the fact that RVP was barely involved due to the ineptness of our midfield? Obviously RVP may have created something out of nothing, as he's a World Class player and often bails us out this way. Likewise he would have controlled passes better and re-distributed better, as he is a better player. However to say that he'd have definitely made a difference, given our lack of incisive passing in the final third is pushing it.

The reason we created more once he went off was more to do with actually having a progressive player on the pitch to attempt those passes, in Giggs, rather than any slight on Hernandez. It's definitely not outlandish to suggest that we'd have won the game had he'd have stayed on, given the chances we had after he went off.

I agree. And players need games to maintain form, confidence and momentum. He should have played more this season.

Worked his backside off today but has had what? One decent chance. He'll be dropped next game but in no world could anyone, should anyone blame Hernandez for our inability to score goals. He's a finisher. If he has nothing to finish that points to issues elsewhere.

One of our only players who can be remotely pleased with his performance today. Aye, agree with 07 he's a finisher primarily but his hold up play was excellent as well at times today and he ran his arse of all game.

Really? I'm getting tired of watching him watching the game. They should just put a camera on his head so he can give better coverage of the game. Every single time he is a passenger. Impact substitute is all he is good for.

Absofeckinlutely

Pretty much the only player to come out of today with any credit. While everyone else was acting like a pathetic prima donna, just expecting things to happen, he was actually trying to make something happen.

He was very good today with what little service he had. Held the ball up well, pressing was brilliant and passed it around well.

The only negative was the dive.

Don't think anyone is even going to argue otherwise.

Not having it. He doesn't hold the ball up, make any space for himself or others with runs, can't pass the ball into him and then work off him. He is a tidy finisher when we are on overload and he can linger in the box. Does nothing to contribute to our attack at all.
