He is a cracking player. He a very complete game for a kid of his age, and his goal scoring instincts are up there with the best. Might turn out to be one of the best buys ever.

Dipper supporting friend of mine said our Lil Pea was nothing and Rooney / Berbatov is our best partnership. I tended to agree with him in that yes, it might be a season or two before we see the best of Chicha as he builds up strength to play against PL CB but, also said the guy is special and really has knack for goals. There are parts of his game that need a lot of work (touch mostly) but, the boy is a goal machine.

I think fans of other clubs only see his goal scoring and "lack of all round play", what they ignore is his amazing off the ball movement.
He has been creating so much space for other players with his movement, great little player.

How many points has Chicharito won for us? I dont remember even Ole having such a big impact in his 1st season.
He equaled Solskjær's total from his debut season today, 19 goals. But I suspect that Hernandez scores more "big" or "important" goals than Solskjær did in his.

Whether or not he writes himself into folklore the same way, is to be seen. But he's certainly quicker and I think will end up starting more games and scoring more goals.

His English is unbelievably good.

Mexicans do have English as a second language, I've been to the states and all the Mexicans are either fluent or do not speak the language at all.

Not to mention chicha was aiming for college if he didn't make it, I bet he did have those extra English classes to prepare for SAT/GMAT/GRE or what ever exams he needed to do it in the States imo.

Nearly four years in England and still no English, that's bad.
I have heard him speak in English.. its not impressive. I remember watching an interview of Ando, Ronaldo and Nani.
They were poking fun at how poor Nani's English was. Ando doesnt seem to have progressed much further. Should spend more time practicing the language than crashing cars in the summer.

Some guys find it difficult for whatever reason. Tevez is the same. But it is not just the South American guys.
The legend and arty "intellectual" Cantona never fully got to grips with the English language and still hasn't.
Part of the problem with the likes of Nani and Anderson not yet speaking good English is the modern day footballer is so much more cocooned and apart from regular life.

They have plenty of time on their hands to learn if they so wished. I know myself how hard learning a new language is. Still, no real excuse for someone like Tevez to have the lack of English he does after so long

Anderson either cant be arsed or simply pretty thick.

Or maybe he can speak English to a degree, but just too embarrassed to go live in front of cameras which is I suspect what it is.

i think they're great together with rooney playing back a bit. it may not always end in goals (there is another team out there after all) but you can clearly see the connection between the two. they're on the same page 99% of the time.

What I love his that he brings out the best in Wayne Rooney .... much like in the same way it took Dwight Yorke to bring the very best out of Andrew Cole. This has the makings for being the best striker partnership in world football.

errrr Andy Carroll ..... £35million ......

I think we get more than £25million for him.

Don't some of you have the theory English players are more expensive because they're English?

Although it is true, if Carroll is worth 35m, then Chicharito is certainly more than 25m worth.

Tbf they are now more even expensive but for a few reasons including the home-grown UEFA ruling; and the are just more hyped than the foreign players due to the local press, which in turn helps push their prices up..

Anyway most post match interviews go along the lines of:

  • "I didnt see it but I will do when I get a chance."
  • "I may have scored the winning goal but I really think its a team sport and my team-mates helped me score all 4 goals."
  • "All that matters is that the team wins"

Maybe Ando was just being honest and could not be bother to come up with anymore of the well worn post-match cliche responses.
