His 19th goal of the season on the way to helping us to #19, he's a born match winner, the biggest thing though is his mentality, some players go to a big club and simply wilt under the pressure, but Hernandez has embraced the big stage.

This part of his mentality was clear from the games at the WC. His international record is staggering. Goals against the biggest teams.

Best thing about him today, I thought he had a poor game overall, but not once let his head go down, kept popping up, and kept trying, and that proved to be the difference. I love Berba, and still think he has a big role to play this season, but you get the feeling when things don't go his way, he hangs his head, Hernandez seems to be made of sterner stuff.

rioferdy5 Hernandez aka Lil Pea is the real deal....what a debut
season in the PL!

From RAWK when we signed him:
Seen this lad play many times out here on the tv, he is NOT in the same class as Ngog.

NOT, I repeat, NOT in the same class as Ngog. How right he was.

Been my location for the past year. RAWK spasticisty at it's peak. :p

Hernandez has scored the same amount of goals in one season than Ngog has in 3.

NOT in the same class.

Don't know if anyone's seen the BBC interview with him but he said he'd swap all 19 goals if it meant United winning the title.

Even Fergie didn't expect such a big impact from Chicharito. Incredible debut season.

For some reason, Chicharito and Rooney seem to work better in non-league games. In the last three league games they started, we scored 1 goal with them as our attacking pair. Maybe there was less space to exploit in those league games than in the CL matches.

Stop it Chicho, I love you enough already.

i think they're great together with rooney playing back a bit. it may not always end in goals (there is another team out there after all) but you can clearly see the connection between the two. they're on the same page 99% of the time.

I don't think that was the case in the last two games. Maybe they weren't as fresh as they were vs Chelsea in the CL or the midfield wasn't at its best. Don't know why but we were struggling in the league in their last starts: Bolton, Newcastle and Everton.

i hope madrid and barcelona feckin stay away from him.

its only a matter of time before the vermin come sniffing for him.

Let's not label him that.He will hopefully forge his own name in United folklore

It's kind of irresistable, tho'... Same young face and lovely demeanour... loves the club (seemingly)... Has great goalscoring attributes and instincts, and has bagged a surprising amount of goals in his first season. Ole got 18, and he didn't arrive at the club until the season was already rolling.

People won't lump them together, even if we do appreciate the similarities. Chicharito is Chicharito... and faster than Ole ever was *gasp*

Here's hoping he can follow Ole's example in also becoming a more handy player in the build-up play.

 How many points has Hernandez single handedly won for United by being a striker and doing his job? Let's take a random player out of the Chelsea squad and see whether Chelsea would be near the top 4 without him. Idiot.

Unlike Fernando?

feck calling him the little pea. This guy is the PREDATOR!

Had my doubts when we signed him. Very happy to eat humble pie on this one.

Dipper supporting friend of mine said our Lil Pea was nothing and Rooney / Berbatov is our best partnership. I tended to agree with him in that yes, it might be a season or two before we see the best of Chicha as he builds up strength to play against PL CB but, also said the guy is special and really has knack for goals. There are parts of his game that need a lot of work (touch mostly) but, the boy is a goal machine.

He has a great first touch. It's his dribbling and link up play that need to be improved.
