I was asking a few people to pick between Hernandez and Suarez last night.

A simple choice of: if you could choose just one to have in your team from now on, who would it be?

Two scouse mates went with Suarez straight away. My Arsenal mate had to think about it for longer but agreed with them. Personally I'd go with Hernandez - Saurez will probably show that comparatively he's got more to his game, but Javier seems the more reliable goalscorer.

Thoughts?

I watched Suarez at Arsenal and he looked complete dump, couldn't control it, shots were awful, snatchy and he looked genuinly very very average, of course hes had good games to but hes got 2 goals in 10 games for them, i dont get the hype about him at all.

No way would i swap a 20 goal a season man for what i watched on sunday

Hated the idea of Suarez joining us when it was constantly linked, wasn't too bothered when he joined the scouse. Is very good with the ball at his feet but I'd prefer Hernandez in this team. God knows how many scoring records he'd break in Holland at the moment.

Yup. Didn't play well at all. Touch was really badly off and didn't win anything in the air. Oh well. He's allowed a bad game. Didn't help that our wingers gave him feck all service.

He did, at least once, possibly another time. The only one I can remember was in the first half, it was one hell of a leap, outjumped two Newcastle players.

Think the other one may have been in the first half also.

I think he's getting better on the ball. His first touch though can be great or rapey.

He had a nice long range strike, I didn't think he was capable of those.

Not his greatest game, but I don't think we can complain about the guy so far this season. He's went far and way beyond everybody's expectations.

He'll get more goals between now and the end of the season. He was unlucky that ball from Rooney at the start of the match was slightly too close to the keeper, he would normally bury those.

He didn't get great service last night, give him service and he'll score. It's that simple.

Whoa-oh he’s one heck of a player
Whoa-oh we all love Javier
Chicharito, Hernandez to the squares
Whoa-oh we all love Javier

(to the tune of Bon Jovi's Livin' on a Prayer)

Depends what you need.

A top class striker or someone capable of being moved around the pitch into several positions when you need to make a change.

Hernandez for me and I wouldnt be too surprised if Suarez continues his current downward trend in form. He did start off well but in his most recent match I saw the Suarez of Ajax this season.

Hernandez eagerness can be a benefit and a hindrance at times he rushes play trying to move the ball forward too quickly or control it and pass it and turn into space. However his eagerness

No doubt he does have a tendancy to think a bit too ahead of things and ends up rushing and messing up his touch but I'm sure he'll be more composed in those situations in time.

Love him.

His touch deserted him last night where normally he's pretty spot on with it. There were a few opportunities when he was set through on goal but he forgot he had to actually control the ball before running with it

Hernandez in a few years:

Once he gets more composed and therefore improves his touch, he will be very lethal cause everything about his football is spot on.The runs, the positioning, the timing, everything for a player is good

Hero. Hasn't been in great form for these past 2 games but when we needed a goal he got it.

He saved me from a possible suicide attempt at age 26, thank you Javier:p

Sexy football with this guy in the team. Him and Rooney don't even need to link up that often and you can still see the chemistry between the two.

Clinical. He frequently seems to score the goals that decide games. 4 shots, 4 on target, 1 goal. Keepers should worry because this boy will always test you.

He's a good interpreter as well.

4 Shots
4 On Target
1 Goal

Most impressive thing is that he did not check out, says a lot about his character and mentality. Most strikers would have been frustrated with the shit shit balls some of the players around him were offering, he kept his head up, kept on trying to make runs, bar a few instances he stood there when Rooney had the ball because he thought he was lining up for a shot.

Agreed, he never stops, fantastic attitude

A Legend in the making, absolutely brilliant !

I want him to be given the no 7 shirt from next year. SAF can build his next team around him and Rooney - there partnership and understanding has the makings of being like Beardsley & Rush or Yorke & Cole.

19 goals on his debut season and time for more. What will he be like when he settles.

He's an interpreter as well

A Spanish speaker who just came to England working as a PORTUGUESE translator for a player in England for 4 years:wenger::wenger: It boggles me mind. Only thing left for him to do is turn water to wine!

Having said that....I'm disappointed there was no "what!? fecking what!!!" after his goal.... maybe in espanol?:nervous:
