Didn't he say outright that they couldn't play together, though?

That doesn't really have anything to do with chemistry but style and role.

He said the exact same thing about Owen, and is there really that much difference between Hernandez and Owen's style?

Just sticking to his guns with the Rooney and Berbatov partnership most likely, pre-empting all the calls for Hernandez to start over one of them

Its taken quite a while of Hernandez scoring away goals and Berbatov and Rooney not doing the business and Sir Alex would like, away from home, before its happened. And its just the away matches at this point

We should play two strikers in away matches more often. Some of the football has been brilliant so far. Scholes is a genius.

That's a stunning statistic he really is a top class finisher

Hasn't that been disproved in this thread though?

Isn't the statistic based on shots on Target rather than on goal?

No the stat that was shown to be incorrect was he had scored with 8 of 13 shots...

It was in reality 8 of 13 shots on target, so something above 60%

This is a different stat.

Had a chance before the scousers scored, his movement is excellent & he runs behind the defenders with express pace. When we play 4-4-2, he should be starting ahead of Rooney & Berbatov.

The only light in a dismal performance today.
Please pleae SAF drop the fat lazy cnut and play Hernandez.

I feel he should be first choice.

Berba and Hernandez have to play
we cant rely on a poor performance and a moment of magic, I'd rather play the two strikers who are playing well

He's the only one of our strikers that gets pressure on the CB's with his pace and movement, I think we look lacking in that department without him.

Berbatov has great touch but can't score enough reguarly. Hernandez just gets in the right positions and makes good decsions and deserves to start with Rooney.

I'd be willing to bet no player has scored more goals away from home this season, but I've no idea how I'd check.

Rooney Hernandez has looked good at Wigan and Chelsea. I wish we play that in away games.

What is interesting to me, is how regularly he scores:

Berbatov (20): Has scored on 10 different games (1 as a sub; hasn't scored since the win at Blackpool on 1/26)
Chicharito (14): Has scored on 12 different games (7 as a sub)

And to Chabon, he has scored 9 away from home, 1 at Wembley, 4 at OT (last one was back on 1/4). Where as Berba only has 5 away from OT.

Bottom line: start Berba at OT and use Hernandez as a sub on away games ;)

He has the potential to hit 20 goals this season, fabulous debut season.

This little fecker is the transfer of the season. He just can't stop scoring.

Very good buy considering the money involved and the age of the player in question. Someone did their scouting job quite well on Hernandez.
