Most importantly, whats his record of away goals this season compared to Rooney and Berbatov?

Fergie has been talking about wanting more from those two in away matches. I like that he chose to try something different and give Hernandez his chance. And thats another 2 goals away from home as repayment

Is he our top goalscorer away from home this season?

Has scored in every United away win this season, and in every competition.

What a signing.

He really is invaluable. What would we have done without him this season? He's always been there to give us crucial goals when we desperately need it. For a debut season his goals to games ratio must be looking quite effective now.

Quite easily our top scorer.
Rooney and Berbatov have 2 and 4 goals respectively.

Chicharito has 2 vs Stoke, 1 at WBA, 1 at Blackpool, 2 today and I'm sure there are some more.

Chicharito has had only 12 shots in the PL this year...and scored 8. Phenomenal. Must start more

Taken from Twitter, that's just a sensational stat.
66% Conversion rate

The commentators were talking about how he turns up to training early and leaves late, for me this sort of behaviour plus the goal scoring form he's been in when he's given the chance should warrant more starts than Sir Alex is giving him.

The way he sprinted away from Figueroa or whatever for the first goal was brilliant. Great anticipation in the box. I'm positive Rooney or Berbatov would not have made a run like that.

Dunno if anyone has mentioned this and I might be wrong but did it look to anyone else like he did a "game over" gesture after he scored his second goal? (remember when Fergie had a pop at Rafa Benitez for doing something similar a couple of seasons ago?)

Yes I noticed it too, remember Evra making the same sign at Wigan away in our 08/09 Season.

I've said this before but I really believe that if Hernandez played as often as both Rooney and Berbatov, he would outscore either of them quite easily.

He has scored in every competition so far, he has been instrumental in the away wins we've got this season. He's got a great attitude, you can tell he's loving it here and long may it continue.

I just love the lad.

That's incredible, he really is insanely clinical, he's like a cross between a young Michael Owen and a young Ole. I'm very much looking forward to watching his career.

8 of 12 is great and yes he hasn't played much but, that's not a lot of attempts on goal for a striker.

Those stats are also wrong. It's 13 shots on target. Not 13 shots in total.

Great stats nontheless.

Some other stats for you as well. Only Vidic and Scholes with more yellow cards in the league than him. Not much of a fouler though.

Really think that if we had had him last year we would have won the title. Hopefully he'll be the difference this year!

Possibly but he does not offer the link play and other play those two bring.

Sometimes, in fact a lot of times, a goal is more important

And we always seem to look more likely to score goals when he's on the pitch, not just from Hernandez himself but the aura of fear that defenders succumb to when they have to deal with his pace and movement in behind their backline.

It makes them drop off and leaves more space for Nani, Rooney, Berbatov, Giggs, etc. in the 5-10 yards behind Hernandez

Give me a prolific striker who is guaranteed to put the ball in the net more often than not over an 'all round striker' anyday. Manchester United will always create chances. It's imperative someone is there to stick them away.

I agree. Clinical finishers are worth their weight in gold. Remember Van the Man.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I've grown accustomed to Berbatov making a run to the back post, then yelling at Nani for not getting him the ball.

Hernandez makes the best runs on the team. Midfield looks better when he's on the pitch.

I loved the way Scholes picked him out immediately after the goal with a beauty of a ball straight down the pitch and he was onside. A pity his touch let him down :(

The rest of the premiership and europe should be very frightened that we have not seen the best from Javier Hernandez yet. Just wait until next season when we finally learn to play to his strenghs. viva México!

Two excellent finishes today, the second was especially good as he won the initial ball and flicked it on to Rooney, and then as he hit the ground he spun his man and blitzed onto the through ball, slotting it home coolly, class!

I don't think his link up play is bad either and can develop, he's decent moving with the ball and passes it confidently, the rest will come in time I feel.
