Could have had four last night - what an impact he had last nights and has had in, especially, our away games this year.

The control for his miss, before he actually scored, was as good as the touch before the equaliser. Great character and a top, top player to have.

See Jaap, will you be a dear and have a word with Herr Klopp regarding Mario Gotze. That kid is going to be some player.

What a goal. The control and the finish, flawless. He made it look like it was so easy whereas that situation was the perfect example of what separates the real killers in the box from the fake ones

Brilliant first touches. He's going to be a star.

Just think about how many chances his amazing timing of runs will create once his team mates get completely used to his style.
Players like Scholes, Anderson and Berbatov will will rank up the assists. You could see the potential last night when Berbatov dropped deep to receive the ball and Hernadez was ready to pounce.

Very excited about this lad.

The kid is becoming a real dilemma for Sir Alex. He consistantly grasps every oppourtunity he is given and very very rarely disappoints. So far he is excelling in a super sub role but if we can channel the passes he needs he has the potential to be the most deadly goalscorer in the league let alone at the club. When he signed I had high hopes for his future and I honestly thought Berbatov's days were numbered. Who would have dreamed the White Pele would turn into the White Cnut and Berba would score for fun and genuinely look world class? So what does Fergie do now? Drop the spoilt brat or hope the kid is happy with his subs role? There is no rush at present but I'd say SAF has a big decision to make for next season.

He had 4 chances to score last night, thats praise not a criticism, as soon as he came on things happened. He stretched them, he is constantly on the shoulder of the last defender, his movement is class.

Took his goal brilliantly, looks a genuine star.

Should have had a hattrick the penis

Yeh I know, sack him.

Course I jest.

He is better as a sub it seems. Gives the pace and the movement needed. Whenever Giggs was on the ball it seemed he was going to create something for the lad. Bright, bright future.

He is going to be priceless during the run in.

Yeh he has been better coming off the bench I agree, that is part of the reason for so many comparisons to Solskjaer.

I think he will turn out to be much more than just a super sub though, what a great peice of business from Fergie. Shows that you dont have to spend millions just to satisfy the transfer muppets eh!

At the moment his style/assets of play is best suited against teams who play a high line.

his movement and devastating pace would threaten any team

he just needs to be picked out because he makes some fantastic runs

Sultan is right though.

Hernandez is lethal against teams that play a high line but less effective against a team that sits deep and forces him to receive the ball with his back to goal. These are the sort of teams that Rooney tends to do well against, because he can reap havoc in the spaces that appear between their midfield and back four.

It's all about options and Hernandez gives us an excellent option in games like last night. I can't think of a better striker in the league at doing what he did against Blackpool. Maybe Jermaine Defoe? I'd take Hernandez over him any day of the week.

He is a great poacher, and makes some super runs. I like him, but I don't think people should get too excited. His touch is inconsistent. This is fine; he is young and adapting to the League. His overall game needs a lot of work, and he is not as gifted as players like Rooney, Berbatov, or Welbeck. I'm not sure he'll become a starter, but he is a fabulous player to come off the bench and change a game, like we have seen plenty of times already.

Looks superb every time he plays.

What are his minutes played to goals stats like? Must be pretty good.

I still think people should not get too carried away with praise.

I'm sorry. I like Hernandez but I do not see too many outstanding traits in him.

I am more excited about Welbeck. He can become a complete modern forward.

But on the last page, there were people suggesting one of Rooney or Berbatov should be dropped for Hernandez. That is over the top praise.

So just to clarify... People should not be excited about Hernandez?

Off the bench, he continues to impress. But when he starts, he usually struggles. Yes, it is too early to say he'll become a quality player.

8 goals in 349 sub minutes - that's a goal every 43.6 minutes off bench. Add to that 4 goals from when he's started, and the fact that he's got 4 winners, 3 openers, and 1 equaliser, and it's indisputable - he is a game-changer.

You could see from Holloway's words on him that Javier is a little bit brilliant.

Includes his two goals in pre-season off the bench against the MLS All-Stars and the Airtricity League XI.

Not bad at all

Except Carrick is there any player at United you like unconditionally?

Chicharito has been fantastic this season, give us a goal threat all the time and keep getting these important goals like against Stoke, West Brom and last night.

He is not a Ronaldo or Rooney. He is sort of like our version of Darren Bent. He will score goals, but he is not a great player. I do love Chicharito but I don't see him as a starter right now or in the future.

:lol::lol::lol:

He's no Delfonso.

He has scored when we has started games, not every time, but he has, like that back headed goal. I don't think he has been particularly poor when he's started.

That's all I ask of him. Goals win matches and this is a results' business SAF said so himself last night. There have been plenty of good goal scorers in the history of the game who have for some reason or another been denied the tag of a "great". Andy Cole springs to mind, Pippo Inzaghi has long been lauded in Italy but I know of plenty in England who have failed to appreciate him or grant him the tag of greatness. Roy Makaay was another one in recent years.

What do you expect from his first season at Manchester United in a new league?

Jesus, the fact he's playing as well as he is now off the bench, so early on in his career here as to set off alarm bells, he's going to be a talent for sure.

What impressed me the most was his persistence after missing that first chance, a bit unlucky I thought. The take and finish for the equalizer was absolutely top class, no if's and but's about it. He's doing it so often now that we have to consider him for a starting place, he must be knocking on the door.

I'd be happier if we used him as a sub more often than a starter.

The way I see it his impact will be the same, if not more apparent and teams won't have the luxury of figuring him out. I'd just hate to see him struggle next season because after this one the expectations are going to be very high. Let him retain some mystique.

For this season to me he needs to continue to be mostly used off the bench. His pace, movement is a nightmare for teams that are tiring from holding on or even in general is a lift to our players because they know they have someone to hit.

Best thing about his goal to me was he had fluffed the chance before and the second time he didn't panic, kept his composure and finished. Mental toughness right there to keep going. We were still 2 goals down on his first miss and he could have let his head drop but, didn't.

Game by game is showing signs of improvement even with his back to goal but, for now Berba/Rooney partnership seems to be working very well in terms of interplay between them. Rooney isn't scoring but, there is no denying the quality. Just like how people are now talking about how Berba's quality was always there but, it wasn't happening for the last 2 seasons, Rooney's is there and will come through.

I have a dipper supporter friend that keeps going on about how our Lil Pea is nothing and no where near the hype but, frankly with as many important goals as he has scored, more than living up to the hype of the first season, he really can win us games.
