I love him.
He really is a natural goal scorer.
Had 3 great chances within a few minutes.
Took the goal very well too.

This was what I've been waiting for all season. For the likes of Scholes to pick out Hernandez with those long cross field balls

What a signing he has been! Scored some of our most crucial goals this season already.

I remember people questioning my decision to get his name and number on the back of my shirt at the start of the season, based solely on his WC performances.

I hate to say to those folks I told you so :D

I love the guy, I want his babies.

We just seem to always be on the verge of scoring when he's on the pitch. Given that he's usually replacing Berbatov or Rooney, we do link up a bit less with our strikers in the buildup. But in terms of chances, teams just seem so scared of him running in behind that it opens up space for all our front players to take advantage, not just Hernandez directly.

Ole, Ole, Ole!

;) Nah, just kidding. But this guy is a natural born assassin. Yet again he's scored a decisive goal off the bench. When we need it most, he just finds a way to deliver. Ever since he signed he's been proving he's more than just an option.

Same here. Was gifted his jersey (well I asked for it) back in August :D

I make it that he's scored in every away win this season, except Rangers (did he even play?)

Is there any need for a super thread on this guy now? When will it end?

If the forum was 20 years old we'd have a 250k Ryan Giggs thread.

Aye, you did get the feeling that Blackpool didn't quite know what to do when he came on. Keep a high line and have him run in behind, or drop deeper and invite pressure from us.

For the first time today I felt he's making a strong case for himself.

Not just the goal, but the movement and the difference he made as an attacking option was unbelievable, it changed our team.

Signing of the season?

Yes, to have settled so fast in our league without playing week in and week out is something special, his instinct is just incredible and he's smart enough to realize with his pace he can give the defenders a yard and still beat them to the ball so he will be getting offside less and less.

His goal tonight was center forward play at it's best.

How many points has this guy won for us potentially so far this season ?

Along with Berba and Giggs tonight, nought but sensational.

Love him. Absolutely love him.

What's easily forgotten though is the performance of the linesman on the side Chicharito was attacking. Three very tight (extremely tight in the case of Chicharito's two chances) decisions with the attacker moving one way and the defender the other, and the linesman managed to get all three spot on, where another linesman would've raised the flag to save himself some potential controversy.

Absolutely bang on, if the linesman hadn't been on point that game could have been ruined.

Perhaps the female lino's excellent performance functioned as a wake-up call too.

He and Rafael are fast becoming my favourites from the current crop. Love the pair of them.

Yeah, I'd agree. Fergie has a big decision to make now as to whether he promotes this lad over Rooney for the next few games. He's certainly been knocking on the door, and this might just be the time that Fergie gives him a run in the side, even with Rooney available.

Made a huge difference when he came on. He's developed into a vital part of our squad, and I'm struggling to think of a better impact player in the league.

It's great that now we can bring on somebody who is completely different from our other strikers. Rooney and Berbatov can get caught playing in the midfield a bit much, but Hernandez is mainly concerned with playing off the last defender. Great option to have.

Is Hernandez better when he comes off the bench when the opposition are tiring and his runs will create opporunities for himself and others.

In the short space of time he had 4 chances -

First one one one - should have scored
Second one on one - finished clinically
Far post diving header - did brilliant just to get on the end of it
Header from Giggs cross - he should have finished it but headed straight at the GK.

He was brilliant in his cameo.

I'm not going to name names, but here's a few quotes from when it was announced we'd signed him:

who needs Benzema and Villa when we have this chap.

Im afraid of next Manucho fail tbh

Honestly no mexican player has talent to be a fecking class player.

This my friends is another ****, i havent hear of the cnut and i'm latin american.

Fergie with another master class shit signing likes Manucho, Tosic, Diouf, etc...

Surely we are going after a world class striker too. This isn't him is it?

Who they feck have we just signed?

Seriously? Chicarito?

As paddy will no doubt put it..."deary me"

The Latin American Carlton Cole.

Great. Another young player signed because he has potential. That's what we need.

Don't worry, it'll work out. Who knows, he could be the next Manucho.

Why so negative? He could be the next Diouf...or the next Tosic, or the next Rossi...

oh...right.

Another youngster, we are not Arsenal

This team have need of world class, not of an unknown mexican player

I know I said I wasn't going to name names but:

Peterstorey said:
Wrong one, you should have bought Abel Hernandez of Palermo.

and finally somebody quoted RAWK:

Seen this lad play many times out here on the tv, he is NOT in the same class as Ngog.

What a brilliant first season in England for a young footballer.

8 goals in the league, and I think 10 for the season. Great return given the opportunities.

Whats more impressive is that most of those would have been crucial goals rather than when were 2 or 3 up.
