Thought he was a injection today, one of few that tried creating things at least.

The link up between him and Berba looked promising in parts, don't understand why they didn't start.

He was superb when he came on. Suddenly made us look a potent attacking threat. Great cameo despite being very short.

Haters gunna hate.

Was really surprised by how good his outside the box work was today. He's got real desire has Chicharito. Always trying to make something happen.

I loved his little dribble when he skipped past a few players. Looked really lively when he came on. Him and Berba may well start the next league game together, unless Rooney is back.

Thought he was brilliant when he came on. Did well to dribble his way past some people and put a good ball for Berba to fire just wide.

He was a real live wire. We need to play more him more and more as striker. Yet can't believe he din't start with berba today.

Great cameo.

Best part about the game for me. He just put some life into an otherwise terrible game. Wish Nani had been a little less selfish at the death, maybe Chicharito could have gotten on the end of something.

great little cameo. good combination with Berbatov. Made things happen.

Very promising.

Yeah. Loved his 30 mins or so on the pitch.

And well to be honest I don't blame Nani. Everyone around him was a bit shit. But yeah he should have passed more. Chicha is always in the right places. Had a header as soon as he came on. Perfect positioning.

And his pace and dribbling ability to get past several people was impressive. Even his passing was better than usual today.

He and Vidic were the only bright spots for me today.

I wonder if this game has convinced Fergie that he needs to start Hernandez and keep Owen as the impact sub. Give the young lad a chance. Yes, he won't do well every game but he's our future. Keep the experienced striker on the bench so he can come on against tiring minds and work his magic.

I have to admit it does my head in to see Fergie pick Owen ahead of Chicatrito...when everything suggests that a year or two from now the mexican will be the next Owen, and Owen will have retired or playing in the MLS.

Owen to me is pretty much a 'luxury player' in the sense that, as a finisher and not much else, you want him on the pitch when the rest of the team is playing really well and creating openings. Like the City 4-3 last season, we were raping them and creating a ton of chances which were mostly falling to an out-of-sorts Berbatov. You knew Owen would get a chance in that game and find the net. In tough games he can basically be invisible. And as a lone striker, which he essentially was today with Macheda on the left and the midfield not offering much support, he isn't going to do much.

Hernandez on the other hand has a bit of zip and willingness about him. We've mostly only seen it as a substitute so far, ditto Macheda, but hopefully that'll change. They need to be given games playing through the centre alongside Berbs or Roo though. I don't buy this sticking them out wide to develop their game - neither seem that suited to it. Welbeck, yes. Macheda - do it in the reserves as he's too good for that level. But not for the first team.

Perhaps he would have had a goal if Nani wasnt taking ambitious shots at goal and just treaded simple through balls.

Should always be Chicarito as our third choice striker now. He offers much ore energy than Owen. Owen shoud be just used as a super sub. Macheda will be great but this is defintiely a couple of seasons too early for him to be starting big games liek this I reckon. He should stay as a super sub also.

I was quite impressed with Hernandez today. I think he showed that he's much more than just a good finisher. His build up play was quite promising, he linked up well with Berbatov and showed that he can take players on when needed. I think he probably should have started today though. Owen scored against Everton and ended up back on the bench. Hernandez scored against Valencia and was back on the bench today. I honestly think Fergie is a little bit spoilt for choice at the moment and is struggling to find the balance between giving everyone ample game time to stay fit and develop, and putting out a team strong enough to win the game.

I think Hernandez is a breath of fresh air though. He just looks so happy to be a United player and his enthusiasm on the pitch can only be a good thing for the squad as a whole.

Him and Macheda, and probably Owen too, have all looked much better when coming on as sub than when starting games. Its a problem if we can't start them, because it leaves us only trusting Rooney and Berba.

Also, further to my rather harsh comments on the lad a couple of days ago (see shortly after the Valencia game on Wed) I thought his all-round play was very good today in pretty much all respects.

Yup, I'm not sure what's going on there, it couldn't have improved so quickly. Maybe he is getting more comfortable at United, and that calmness is now translating on to the pitch.

He and Berba look to already have great understanding, and he made decent use of possession against Sunderland. I have absolutely no doubts about his future at United, I thought when he created that little bit of space with that touch near the penalty area, he was going to score for sure.

I normally dont criticise the starting line up because i understand squad rotation is so important to the success of Utd, But there really was no need for it with a 2 week break and berba not even playing international.

Can we all just call him Hernandez? Sounds well better and it is his bloody name!

Bit annoying all this Chica/Chicarito business

There's a world of difference between starting a game and coming on off the bench against a tiring defence.

We've already seen in previous seasons that both Macheda and Owen can turn a game coming off the bench yet look anonymous when they play from the first minute (as we saw again at the weekend). We've even seen the exact same phenomenon with Hernandez himself this season.

It's great to have three players who can all make a real impact off the bench but I don't think this supports an argument that any of them should start our next game(s).

Spot on.

There is a difference, but if a player is making an impact off the bench it does create an argument for them starting. If they play well with the time they are given then that's usually what will get them a start.

I'm not saying it would have worked but hernandez should have started, and I've no idea what SAF was doing keeping Berbatov on the bench with an international break coming up.

Sense. People should be glad we have options. Right now those 3 haven't matched Berbatov's form yet. They all still need to make a stronger case for a start.

Playing now if any of you lot are up.

Had a nice 30 yard run and cracked one just wide a while ago. Mexico down 0-1 to Venezuela.

I'm up, for some reason.

I'll go find a stream, cheers mate.

Instinctive close range header.

Actually, not so much instinctive as perfectly timed, running in late after a cross from the right took a nick off another Mexican forward. I know the Ole comparisons get old, but he does seem to have a similar combination of instinct and timing. Very predatory.

After the Boston tea party (well, our monterrey rum party) out players are against both the press and the mexican FA, and they are against the players. This is bound to be France MK II, but this is far too corrupt to even survive something. They are playing because there is allegedly a truce, but all of the players, commanded by Marquez, are refusing to be punished by the FMF just so they can show they work (they doesn't).

Glad out Chicharo scored. We're playing ok considering the trouble, but of course the press thinks we are being shit. We don't even have a manager!
