It was a very unexpected goal. We hadn't had a decent chance of scoring one all night; only 2 half chances.

And he came up, scored from another one. the Whole thing was quick.

That's what your date said, isn't it?

SAF feels he needs to bulk up.:

"The way he took his chance, it was like shelling peas. It was so natural to him," purred a delighted Ferguson.

"He has work to do on his physique but you cannot take away from the fact that he is a fantastic finisher."

SAF does not like smallish figures. This is the reason he did not like Tosic. At least Hernandez looks like he can bulk up, with Tosic there was no hope.

Good striker reflex and awesome precision... he definitely needs more matches...

Did SAF tell you that himself?

It's not like Tosic shrunk after Ferguson bought him.

And Rafael, Fabio, Park are all smaller than Hernandez.

Park is taller than Rooney. (It might be the hair) And I think MUM mentioned a few years back how surprised she was at how tall he was.

Back on topic; Hernandez kind of runs like Ronaldo. And strikes the ball like him, too.

The quotes I saw were that he said he needs to work on his strength, not necessarily bulk up. He is actually quite stocky as it is, he just needs to add to his core strength so he is not so easily bundled off the ball.

Let me tell you something Essien just said recently. He said SAF passed on him because he was too small when he came for trials. Park is not small, Fabio and Rafael really have strong lower bodies.

The Essien quotes contradict what's been said in the past that we failed to get a work permit at the time.

Of course it will, the quotes from Essien's himself is more believe in hind sight. Do you really think that Manchester United will be denied a work permit for a talent if we really want him? SAF just did not bother really datura.
The work permit line is really hog shit all the time. If we want to get a work permit for someone from Tasmania we will if we really want him.

SAF prefers his players to be bulked up for the rigors of the prem. It is plain for all to see.

Bit of an odd statement from Fergie. Owen literally has no physique and he's had a fine career. He could work on it but is it necessary?

It's getting slightly disturbing the amount of times he's fouled (in the Premiership) and can't get a whistle. If the refs get used to their opinion of him, he might have a hard road ahead when it comes to being "muscled" off the ball.

I don't think any African players without EU passports have been granted work permits at 16 in the UK. It is different for those who are established at clubs/international level.

This whole concept of 'bulked up' is misleading. Players need to be able to stand the rigours of the Premiership and have good body strength, but this doesn't mean 'bulked up' ie physical mass. Just look at players like Giggs.

United wont get a work permit for African players like Essien if they are not established. In the past, we even had problems with African players who played for their country (Manucho?).

Can any resident photshop experts get rid of the watermarks on them?

The butch lesbian is coming along quite nicely. Wonderful goal and technique yesterday.

Owen even at 18 was ripping past top top class defenders and had superb balance, such that he never really got physically outmatched in the premiership.

Chico is not as good a dribbler as Owen and is more a kick past a player and run merchant, not that its a bad thing but his style would be more similar to a Torres, hence why working on his physique would make him more dangerous when running at opponents.

At the moment he's relying purely on goals based on movement and getting into space, thats fine but to be a more complete player he needs to be able to score goals out of nothing and be able to drive an opening by himself just by taking opponents on when one v one.

as has been pointed out the quote is contradictory. And please do quote any instance of a player straight from Africa getting a work permit for England at age of 18, without any international apperances.
yeah and then there Paul Scholes

I'm pretty sure Owen used to take boxing lessons etc when he was younger to bulk up etc because he was a bit weedy.

Excellent goal by Hernandez it was going to come sooner than later and I hope he can bag minimum 10 this year. Let the good times roll

Meh. I knew the caf would get overexcited. He got lucky with the first touch, it actually got away from him, and he scuffed his shot into the corner.
This entire post is a big fat joke by the way, i'm going to buy a sombrero! :-)
He still needs to bulk up and improve his all round game.

:)

EDIT: I may actually make a request for the smiley face to be topped with the sombrero.

Further EDIT: I think i'm spelling sombrero wrong.

Edit X 3: No i'm not. :D

Great post. It all makes sense now.
