SAF said that Hernandez took his goal 'like he was shelling a pea'.

Rio said he is one of the first in training and the last to leave.

That comment from SAF actually made me laugh out loud, it must have been intentional, surely?

Good to hear that from Rio too, I really like this kid, he's looking like a truly fantastic signing.

I think he really needs to work on a lot of things though, apart from his finishing and movement in the box he's very raw - makes the wrong runs a lot, touch is very on/off and his hold-up play is often poor. I think probably a large part of it is a combination of nervousness and getting used to the pace of European football but still...

Yeah Rio said he turns up early every day for training. You can tell he is so thankful to even be here.

Errmm, if a fecking striker can finish, move in the box with speed that is Good enough for anybody. What do you want him to become? Let him stick to what he does best please.

The kid has fantastic attitude it seems like. Great touch and cracking finish. Looks a real deal.

Jeez man, you're very negative!

He's not the finished article, of course he's not, but I don't agree with all that. His hold up play has looked very good at times (generally, not based on tonight) and his runs off the ball are something our midfielders just need to get used to and start anticipating, it's not that they're 'wrong'. Once he's been with us a while and got more time on the pitch with the first team I expect those runs will start to pay serious dividends.

Nah. His runs are very good and when he plays well his touch is very good. It was the same in pre-season. During his games for us he had one or two off nights, and on those nights his touch was getting away from him. But when he was on it, his touch is good. Same with his linkup play and passing, when he's playing well its good but on the few occasions he's had an off day for us already, his linkup and passing hasnt been good.

Reminds me of Solskjaer. His goals are all ridiculously clinical finishes and he's the kinda guy that doesnt seem to give a shit what sort of occasion it is.

I agree that he's still very raw. He needs to improve his play with his back to goal, is very easily bundled off the ball and his touch can be erratic, but he's one hell of a prospect

I don't think you can say that he's making the wrong runs. He just needs time to gel with the team so they actually find his runs with their passes, because his knack of finding space in behind the defense is second to none.

Looking at Wiki to find his goal ratio and found this:

He did more in his time on the pitch than Park or Berbatov. Not that it was Berbatov's fault since he had awful service. He's great coming on when the game is stretched or at least the opposing team is attacking. Against 14 men behind the ball Rangers, he's not going to do much.

Hernandez got his chances because we finally showed the balls to play 2 up top. Berbatov's only chances came from individual play out wide because he was never in the box at the end of our moves. He pulls out to the wing and doesnt get into the box for the cross, and thats why we were struggling to get a goal. He needs to play with a partner.

4-3-3 demands two attacking minded wingers and not Park.

I think he's superb. Of course he has his weaknesses but given some decent service he's a huge threat due to his pace.

Just seen the interview with him on ITV, says he's more happy with the result than having scored and he's pleased we kept a clean sheet. Great attitude, and fluent, faultless English.

just got home from work and saw the goal on replay. a little surprised kiko didn't shoot, more surprise he passed it to hernandez with two defenders in front of him, and thrilled he scored like that in traffic. kissed the badge and wouldn't let go of kiko. lol

very nice win for United.

Yeah I was actually really upset about that for about two seconds until I saw the aftermath.

Fantastic goal tonight, his first touch was superb and the finish clinical, very exciting to see.

I know the comparison with Solskjaer has been done many times before. But it's goals like this that will just add weight to that argument. Makes a potentially complicated goal look so easy, first touch to set it up, second one places it at the bottom corner of the net. Nice!
