He did great for the 3rd goal. Did really well to win the ball near the corner line.
Also could have scored if Berba had the let the ball go through.

He'll do well this season.

The Chicharito pre-printed jerseys sold out this afternoon. They had to reprint them for when people actually started arriving for the game. He' selling more than Rooney and Nani apparently.

Good movement from the boy today. Unfortunately had no real chance of putting the ball into the net. Still a long season ahead of him - seeing forward to watching him.

he's going to allow us to stretch teams more and more.

That pass from Nani to him where he ended up being caught offside was typical of what he'll bring to the side.

Good signing for 7 million quid even at these early stages

Was he off when he went round the keeper? I thought their left back was level...would have been a great start for him. He'll score plenty of goals for us, his movement & lightning pace will get him in the right positions.

Just about, one leg of this was!

Yeah, I think he'll do great. Just needs to get a few goals and he'll do it consistently. Looks funny when he passes.

he was half a yard offside; unluckly really

Owen gives us that threat a bit aswell, unfortunately he needs to be less than ten yards from goal for it to mean anything

half a yard- that's how close he was to score a goal on his official debut. shame he was offside.

It wasn't his debut. He's scored on his debut. It was against Chelsea. And he hasn't even started a game yet.

There was one passage of play prior to the goal where the Newcastle defender looked comfortable on the ball in central defence and Hernandez came from nowhere and nabbed it off him...his pace is going to be a real asset for us especially against tired defences.

I don't think he was even half a yard offside. It looked like his shoelaces were offside when I saw the replay. Whatever, this is what he does and when it pays off and the flag stays down no defender will get back at him and he'll score.

He's going to give Fergie headaches this season.

Agreed. I also love it how the atmosphere raises when he comes on and everyone has high hopes for him. He's young and we shouldn't put too much pressure on his shoulders but whenever he plays, he oozes something that makes you have faith in him. I don't know how to describe it, he's just so natural when he plays for us, like somebody who's done nothing else in his whole live but playing for international top clubs. Obviously it's still early days but this transfer could be genious from Fergie.

His movement is something different, plenty of times he could've had the ball played through but I don't think our players are used to his positioning yet.

When it clicks it could be incredible.

Saw a lad on the way out tonight with HERNANDEZ on his shirt, well done.

Hernandez the player should be wearing it too...
Think it's silly to have a nickname on their shirt, just like Christian Benitez, who has Chucho on his back.
Reminds me of when the Australian cricket team all put cringy nicknames on their shirts for a 20/20 game a couple of years back...
Imagine Rooney running around with Wazza on his back:lol:

Yeah, I remember that Australian team one and it was awful. Didn't Michael Clarke have 'Pup' or something on his shirt hah? Glad that died a quick death and didn't catch on.

Was the key man for the third goal. Fought well to get the ball of the Newcastle defense which let to the rest.

"Key man" is exaggerating. The key men where Scholes and Giggs, clearly. He played his part, obviously, but what's the point in bigging it up more than is necessary?

Having said that, he played well and looked lively. A few touches off here and there in build up play, but sharp as anything and we're going to be seeing a lot of those runs in behind similar to the offside late on. Really, really looking forward to watching this lad develop over the coming years.

Having a nickname on his back didn't stop Kaka from becoming world-class. :D

He played a key role.

Valencia was struggling wide and Hernandez shifted wide to give him support, Valencia lost the ball and Hernandez chased it down made the tackle and got it moving again. Without his contribution there was no goal.

A case of the butterfly effect, maybe, but he played a big part in the move.

Has anyone else noticed how, whenever he's interviewed, he never lets the interviewer finish a question before answering?
He anticipates everything!

pretty funny. i just watched the match and had he not been was offside, by the length of his own foot, he would surely have scored. more practice to get the timing down with the others and he'll be off to the races.

After today's game...

Thanks for embedding this video, zain. He seems like a nice lad and has a sufficient command of English which will make settling down at United and in England much easier for him than for other foreign players. He also really seems to love his opportunity and to be full of gratefulness. Good for him.

As we've seen already his movement is brilliant. I can't help feeling that he will need to improve his all round general play if he wants to displace the likes of Berbatov from the team. He is a poacher that plays in the shoulder and that's it. I'm confident though, he's only young and will add the rest to his game in time.

On a side note, I could not believe how many Chicharito shirts were at OT last night. It was the most popular one by a mile. He hasn't done anything yet!

Also, I saw someone with Chrischarito on his back. The fecking loser.

I really think hes the type of player who will bring new life into Carrick, and a strike pairing of him and Berbatov could be something special
