Hernandez' movement is excellent, very exciting player he is. I hope hes ahead of owen in the pecking order, and I wouldn't mind him starting up top with Rooney against Newcastle!

Any HD pics of the lad?

I know this makes me a tart but I want him in the first eleven against the geordies (preferably alongside Berb).

No you'd be a tart if you wanted to blow him :p

Took his goal well I thought. :)

any pics of him with the shield?

I love the way he seemns to have effortlessly fitted into the squad, it feels like he's been here a lot longer.

Wow he's made PIG laugh and Valencia smiling on the pic with the Shield. The guy is a miracle worker;)

He's fecking amazing, looks like he's having the time of his life. Looks so happy in that first GIF, its great to see. PIG looks like Elmo from Seasame Street when he laughs though.

It's probably a reference to the talk of a loan a few weeks ago. Besides, he was kissing the badge after he scored. ;)

This guy seems to have tons of luck to go along with his ability. Maybe some of it will rub off on Berbatov. He's looked very special so far, but hopefully the hype won't get to him. He seems to be incredibly humble and enjoys being with his teammates. I can't wait to see more.

Fergie always talks about always need some luck in the game. I think our Chicharito brings that. The ball pops in regardless, right place at the right time etc.
Sure he has all the physical attributes and skills to go along too.

Berba, who just didnt seem to have that sort of luck, certainly last year, hitting the post quite a few times, rolling over divots before striking the ball etc. may benefit.

My God, pig is so fake

Forced laughs or not, it must be quite refreshing to have someone around who is so obviously enthusiastic about it all. With the money players make these days and all the media BS, you could easily start forgetting how blessed you are to be at this club.

The likes of Scholes, Giggs, Neville, sure get that across, but it's also good they don't just get the message from the "old guard".

He looked very sharp when he came on, full of creativity and desire. Looks a bargain frankly, could be just the striker we've needed to take the pressure off Rooney. Very excited to see more of him.

Time to bring it down a notch. Hernandez fluffed both chances he had. The first sliced off his left foot and the second he was very lucky. His general play was good, movement, layoffs and positioning. If he has all the luck berba did not have then that's his x factors which you cannot coach.

It's not luck. The main thing for a striker is to get on the edge of chances, and that's where Berbatov has largely failed so far (although he may be on an upturn now)

From what little I've seen of him (from Mexico's pre-WC friendlies through to yesterday) I think we can expect quite a lot of fluffed chances. He's not the most composed finisher I've ever seen.

I don't think that will matter though, so long as he keeps getting as many chances as he seems to be able to find, with his really sharp movement.

from what I saw of him i thought the opposite. didn't score all his chances, but most of them were well struck and good attempts. For United (and against United) i though his technique on most attempts was excellent and he seemed to test the keeper a lot.

Gotta love Chicharito.

On a more serious note, we should not put too much pressure on the guy. I'll be more than happy if he notches around 7-8 goals for us this season. His pace, though, will give us an extra-option up front, which is always good to have.

I think you descrobed him best when you said he was a bit like Andy Cole - he will get his chances but possibly miss as many as he scores.

I think his finishing is rushed at times and perhaps he can learn some composure he would then go up another level.

However I was impressed with his play and his reverse pass to Berba was very good - it was slightly overhit.

Andy Cole?

I see him being a better and more clinical finisher than Cole, whether he is a better all-round player for us than Cole was is another question.

He doesn't look like a chance-fluffer for me far from it, nearly every time he has a sight of goal, he unleashes a very accurate shot with either foot.. his finish against France in the world cup, against Argentina... his goals during pre-season not the goals you'd expect from someone who isn't a composed finisher.

What, you mean apart from missing an open goal in a pre-WC friendly for Mexico, the two chances he missed when clean through on goal in the Chivas game, the shanked left foot shot from a Berbatov cut back and kicking the ball into his own face?

He's got two very good feet and the potential to score bags of goals but a composed finisher he is not. Not yet anyway.

Owen will help with this in training, not to mention one Ole Gunnar Solksjaer.

His shots go goals ratio in Mexico in his last season was 1 goal every 3.2 shots. That's pretty clinical. He kept that up for Mexico this summer with 1 in 3 exactly(inc. friendlies). Rooney had 1 in 5.2 last season, for comparison.
