He just got a nice little assist of the bench for Dortmund got the ball in the box and played the ball thru an opponents legs to Auba who popped it in.

Also hit a Great shot from 20 yards off the post. Done well in this game.

We are wasting his time. Recall him and send him to a lesser club in Germany.

He needs to continue to favor his passing over his dribbling. It's clear his passing is his strength.
Yeah he showed decent vision with his passing, the assist was great as well. When he tries to force things on his own he looks pretty poor. You'd hope someone is telling him that.

He really should have styed put, he would likely have had more chances with us.

Could even have had a starting role as the striker tomorrow if he had.

His first season really got to his head and he thinks he should be a guaranteed starter.

Giving him the 11 didn't help.

It's good that he's gone to Dortmund and gotten a reality check, he'll come back stronger.

Like I said in the other thread, it's slightly strange for a player to go against his manager's advice to join a team where he'll play week in week out in order to move to a bigger club. You could say it is self-belief, but if he isn't ready for United, then he should trust the manager on his readyness and understand that he wont be ready for Dortmund immediately. Either way, hopefully he either forces himself into their team somehow, or gets a reality check from this experience that there's nothing wrong with working your way up.

English media will likely pick up this article by Dortmund's media partner RuhrNachrichten:
http://www.ruhrnachrichten.de/sport...-beim-BVB-auf-den-Durchbruch;art11635,2880554

The headline roughly translates into "Manchester loanie Januzaj awaits breakthrough at BVB", and the article describes his lack of attitude in training as well that he, similar to Shinji last season, joined Dortmund fitness-wise in poor shape.

On another note: Dortmund flew to Russia today without Reus, Kagawa and Auba. If Tuchel fields, as I assume, Mkhitaryan and Castro in attacking midfield and Ramos upfront, Adnan and Jonas Hofmann would battle for the remaining attacking spot.

What does that mean? Can you say in a bit more detail?

He loves playing FIFA apparently. Disgusting, what a waste of his talents. He should learn to prioritise - PES is far better.

British journos have been reporting it for ages. Seems his attitude towards training is woeful.

That's bad if true. No amount of talent will make it work for him at the best clubs if his attitude is off.

Looks like his early success got in his head. Shame, he's such a talented player.

I would have some doubts they were refering to Adnan's time in Dortmund.

The article refers to two particular incidents during training, first one in which Tuchel picked Januzaj and yelled at him due to his lack of attitude, and when Adnan tried to defend himself Tuchel yelled even louder; the second one that he approached the dressing room after a training match and needed to be reminded that the team was supposed to do a little cool down jogging.
The rest is the usual stuff - late loan, unfit, got time to adjust, stayed in Dortmund rather than playing for Belgium's U21, quote of LvG not calling him back in January, very gifted but Mkhitaryan & colleagues are far superior in terms of tactical awareness etc., Dortmund still hopes he'll make it.

The there times Van Gaal has spoken about him since he's gone on loan, he's said he needs to improve his attitude. It's not much is being made out of it.

They also said that Tuchel gaive him som praise later during that training session, though.
What I find interesting is that both Januzaj and Kagawa supposedly came to Dortmund in woeful physical shape.

Considering he started a few games for United before going on loan I wonder what the hell they were doing at United then...

I see what you did there.

What I find even more interesting is that the very same applied to Kevin de Bruyne and André Schürrle when they moved from Chelsea to Wolfsburg, both also late in the transfer window. A too small sample size to draw conclusions from but raises the questions if English clubs play a brand of football that demands less fitness.

German teams are generally busy in defense, they are more dynamic, imo.

Generally, many teams (unless they play Bayern or Dortmund) press high up the pitch, at least higher than most English teams, demanding more miles from attacking players like the mentioned four.

Januzaj and Kagawa left after training under LvG's (mainly Dutch) coaching team. I strongly doubt that they're not putting our players through their paces.

Cheers.

Think balu touched upon it in detail in one of his posts. Most of the defending in the PL happens in the later third while in the bundesliga, teams defend right in the midfield and even higher meaning more activity and lesser space there.

Nothing against Lingard but it surprises me that we let Adnan go on loan and now we are giving a youngster (who is in my opinion, less talented at the moment) so much gametime.

I don't necessarily disagree, but Lingard so far has been better than Januzaj has since his first season imo.

I rate Lingard but I still think Januzaj is the better player at present, and would have offered us more.

I see what you did there.

I don't know what you think that you see, but since I doubt that van Gaal is an amateur I find it curoius that there appears to be a big difference when it comes to something as basic as fitness.

Just a joke.

i liked januzaj perhaps as a result of how good he was in the midst of the shit season we endured under moyes two years ago.

but after watching yet another terrible performance today where we didn't lose, but didn't win either, i'm trying to figure out what i got more enjoyment from: watching a poor united side that at least had entertaining aspects to it under moyes or this incarnation where we somehow are near the top of the league with pretty much nothing by way of entertainment.

Couldn't agree more. Letting him go on loan at all was a poor decision, considering how little depth we have in the front four four positions. Seeing Lingard getting this much game time makes the decision look even worse.
