Loan deal? Let's be honest, there was as much chance of him getting the same level of football here than there. Equally, we are about developing our own player by getting games where they are about wining football games. Furthermore, the PL is completely different than the German league so why would you send a player on loan there when maybe an Everton would be better suited to get him prem ready. He is now no longer on our radar and I get the feeling, he will be sold in the summer to them if he does ok. The loan deal outside of this makes zero sense especially given our lack of forward options.

I refuse to beleive the club will sabotage his development by sending him to a place they know he won't play. We had been hearing Rumours about Dortmund taking him on loan all summer. He also has the advantage of being able to play in all three positions behind the striker. He will get more game time than people think.

Quite a strong Dortmund team, looks like. Minus the players (or is it just Gundogan?) who played Scotland yesterday.

Who scored. My stream lagged and I saw someone tapped Januzaj and Januzaj has the ball on the reply but it again lagged.

1-0 BVB, no idea what happened (was fixing food).

Penalty missed for St. Pauli.

Januzaj on the right edge of the box, wriggles through two and has a shot over the bar. Looking good.

Started the stream just in time to see a nice move by Januzaj in the box. Faced with 2 defenders on the right side of the box, went thru in between them with a sudden burst of pace. But then his final ball/shot ballooned over the bar.

Goal for Januzaj! He starts the move on the right, then receives the ball in the middle. A dragback gets him space to shoot with his left foot from 18 yards. It takes a bit of a deflection into the ground and into the bottom right.

Decent skill on the ball to make space for a decent shot from left side of the box just from outside. Shot took a deflection of Ramos I think and the GK then made a meal of it. Shot hit the GK and deflected in.

If I am not mistaken he is playing on the right hand side with Ramos upfront.

2-0, Januzaj with the goal after a deflection. Brought the ball in from the right, passed it away, hung around just outside the D, got the ball back, did a draw back on the ball to give himself space, then booted it. Nice, nice goal.

This is looking very good.

And Sokratis, Ginter, Weigl, Bürki, Mkhitaryan, Aubameyang, Kagawa... basically every senior International from us is missing with Schmelzer being the only one from the strongest XI ;)

Still looking very good overall. Very good movement all around. Januzaj is very active and takes part a lot in the offensive rotation. Looking good and confident.

Well, your second XI doesn't look bad either :)

Edit: I thought Subotic and Weidenfeller and Bender are playing as well. Are they no longer first choice? I haven't been keeping up.

A friend of mine is a big dortmund fan and regularly goes across to see them. He thinks Januzaj has been loaned to play a big part this season.

I for one am very hopeful of him getting to play a lot there.

Januzaj cuts in from the right, puts it on a plate for Passlack, who stabs a shot wide.

Absolutely not saying Januzaj is lazy in the following comment. But you can visibly see the difference in his coaching vs our academy boys/first teamers. He rarely keeps shape as the whole team shifts, instead trying to isolate himself as much as possible.

Will be interesting to see his development as the season goes on.

delighted for him, looks good so far, hopes he comes back after we sack Van Gaal this summer..
