Januzaj | Confirmed: On Loan at Dortmund

Yep I'd be surprised to see him here again.

How many people who've established themselves as part of the squad over 2 seasons goes off on loan and returns?

Surely Dortmund would have mentioned it in their statement if there was a clause.

Things like that rarely get mentioned that early. Especially if United is aware that their fans will riot if it's getting announced immediatly.
So probably Dortmund is fulfilling United's wish of not confirming the clause right now.

Yes they are. This "fans rioting stuff" is just

This forum is the perfect proof for my point, isn't it? Have seen many "before Januzaj gets sold, sack Van Gaal!" alike posts.

The Glazers have never been too concerned about what the fans think.

So he's not going to give him a chance because they won their first 3 games? What a logic.

Not more playing time than he could've potentially gotten here, which is the whole point in case you hadn't gotten that.

If there is a release clause this will be the first time I will join the riot and call for LvG's sacking.

Why ? Even if there is, its not a big deal. We would move on and so would he. If he has the quality to be here, then he will stay.

But if there is a release clause Dortmund can use it if they wish right? Or is it up to the player?

The more I think about it, the more obvious it seems that Dortmund must have some sort of clause or agreement, otheriwse this deal makes no sense for any parties. United, Dortmund, or Januzaj.

Surely if that is the case we are in for one of their players.

He still would have to agree to a contract with them, but I doubt there is a release clause.

Okay so perhaps not too much to worry about then, if he performs there we can still blow Dortmund out of the water regarding wages.

People talking about release clause, surely you mean option to buy or first option? Which isn't the same as a release clause, as we could reject their bids.

Ah, you know more than LVG, now it all makes sense.

Just judging based on the player material we have compared to theirs and the chances he has given him so far, that discussion shall be allowed on a forum?

Or LVG just doesn't rate him/like him/want him. Who knows.

Its a bizarre situation all round. Loaning out a talented young player who seems high up in the pecking order, to a team who have money and can easily afford to buy a player of his talent, and where he's not exactly guaranteed to get regular playing time. I really really don't get it.

option to buy not. The price is agrree beforehand, so if they exercise that option he is gone.

Made doubly confusing by the fact we only have 5 forwards in a 4 forward system.

He played him because he wanted to see if he's better than last season, apparently he wasn't good enough for LVG yet, hence the loaning out.

Does he not have to agree terms with them first, and we can still offer him better wages?

The ideal scenario is he has a brilliant season at Dortmund and is deterred to make it here, we're a bigger club, and you'd think the player would want to make his name for himself playing for us.

That is still the more likely thing to happen, but I do feel a bit uneasy and worry LvG has simply decided he doesn't fancy him and he's surplus to requirements, which would be odd, as he was speaking about him in a positive way just weeks ago.

Hope he Kevin De Bruyne's it at Dortmund, comes back like a new signing.

Dortmund is definitely the right club for him. Quite happy about this if I'm honest, rather them then Sunderland.

That's your stance on it. I think given our lack of depth up front, he would've gotten minutes regardless.

Exactly

And our only right winger (a position Januzaj plays) is a slow #10.

Its just so weird.
We are so short up top it's crazy, and that RWF spot needed sorting out and we just left it as it is and even removed an option.

I've no idea what Van Gaal is thinking letting him out on loan. If we sign no one else it seems a truly bizarre decision.

I'm not bothered about this. We have bigger fish to fry than worrying about Januzaj's loan spell. Van Gaal needs to get this group performing at maximum potential, which hasn't happened yet and that should be priority one.

Fair enough, I just tend to overrate Januzaj. I see him as our Neymar/Muller, unsellable that is (and I know people will disagree so don't pay attention).

I doubt van Gaal would be willing to loan a player out if he sees a future for him. Doesn't seem to match up to how much he goes on about philosophies and making them better players, how is he going to learn the van Gaal way at Dortmund?

Not Januzaj's biggest fan but he was far from being deadwood. Agree with others, don't see the need if we ain't signing anyone after Martial.

He's not nearly as a good as either and will never be imo. Its just asking for trouble getting attached to one player, especially since he has not shown any aptitude for improvement.

Everything says he won't, I just have high hopes for him as he is 20 years old. I know you are right, but I am still very attached to him and think he can turn out great once he settles in a league.

It's also possible that Dortmund want to use him as a (more or less) free short term solution to improve their depth, because they plan to have another go at Yarmolenko, whose contract will run out at the end of the season.
