January Transfer Window

Yeah Nick just beat me to it. One I think is a winger and the other a central midfielder if Im not mistaken.
Never seen Kruse play but apparently he's a striker/attacking midfielder. Not sure why we'd be interested with our options (especially with Mata now), and he's not particularly young either at 25. But like I say, never seen him play and he has made a few appearances for the national team recently. Late-bloomer a la Dante perhaps?

Smalling never gave Kruse a kick in that Germany friendly. Never seen him play other than that, in fairness.

It's comforting to know that Moyes makes such an effort when it comes to identifying players. He may be a "ditherer," but better that than mugs like 'Arry.

I'm more interested in watching Kramer, their 22 year old CM today. The stats suggest he can do it all

A difficult match so far for Borussia, but this guy made a couple of tackles and had a nice run forward and found a decent pass to set up the Arango shot at the end.

As for Hermann he barely got a kick like most of his teammates and made bad choices or slipped when he had that chance. Kruse had a good effort tipped onto the post

Even though it will take stupid money, Luke Shaw and Barkley have to be on our radar.

They could be top players for the next decade.

Chelsea and City will no doubt be interested.

Doubt we'll go after Barkley now. He can be a central midfielder long term I guess but we're stocked with #10's, we need proper first team central midfielders. We should try hard to go for Shaw though, but I think he's off to Chelsea. Left back we should go for one of Coentrao (probably), Ricardo Rodriguez or Alex Sandro. Midfield we need 2 players still IMO, but with the team we have now, probably a defensive ball winning midfielder like Bender/Khedira next to a deeper lying playmaker.

To be honest I would be more happy signing someone like Koke or Gundogan at the same value Barkley would most likely go for. With the addition of Mata into our team and the explosion of creativity he will bring, our priority should be that of signing a midfielder that covers the back 4.

Wonder what (or who) the German trip was all about? I didn't think Mata would happen this window, now I wouldn't be shocked if another deal occurs this month!

Hopefully we were looking at Kroos and Kramer in the middle of the park, there's also the potential of us going for Max Kruse if one of several of our strikers with uncertain futures (Hernandez, Rooney) are moving on in the summer. Although we have Mata now and he's an excellent alternative to Rooney in the hole, we could also feel we need a new striker to make sure we have good options and numbers that position on top of having Mata.

What a tease he is. This is set to be the most exciting final week in the January transfer window ever for United fans

With his Newcastle connections and our need for a CM, Cabaye is looking the most likely. Wouldn't be totally against that to be honest, if the price was right.

I said exactly the same in the Twitter thread. Then again, he might have been told something by folk inside United, even fellow horse-owner SAF.

I doubt he has any inside info from Newcastle, everyone around when he was there would have left surely? It's completely new management and owners. Plus Cabaye would be a mistake, we already have Cleverley, Carrick, Fletcher and Fellaini, we need a top class central midfielder, we buy Cabaye now and that's it, there won't be much room in the squad for another. We're looking at Pogba and Vidal, clearly Moyes wants someone of that quality.

Nab Shaw and The Shed forum will melt down.
Weirdly enough, I was on there the other day and a few of them were against signing him. A few of them were mentioning PVA (Patrick van Aanholt) and saying he should be given a chance?

I wonder if Shaw bid is the good news or there's another done deal pending?

I originally thought when Owen put that he would be on about Rooney's deal but then tonight he goes that he doesn't think Mata will be the only player coming in, which is slightly different.

He's been class this season, but not convinced how he would do in the PL, especially for a struggling team like West Ham.

RM is certainly one of our stars and I share your doubts that he's PL quality. Hopefully Fat Sam is making plans already for next season in the Championship.
