January Transfer Window

@Colin129

I'm not sure, I'm not Sporting Lisbon  But to my knowledge, he was supposed to be out 'longer than expected', but we expected him back 1st Jan, from what I know, he's due back now, is he not?

Why would they take an injured player on loan for the 2nd half of the season, when it's already been stated that the injury is quite serious and he could be out for a while?

For the chance of having him next season too? Getting a loan wouldn't be that bad for them. Have they any midfielders we could snap up?

I'll have him back but please everyone stop with this he didn't get games, he engineered the move away before all that.

 Even if you believe that, the point in fact is, he felt he should have got games, so engineered a move away, as a United fan, you can't love it, but you can't hate it, I respect it, there are too many players happy to stagnate at any age and pick up their cheque, he isn't on of them. Nor is he a trouble maker like a lot believe, Ravel left under more dubious circumstances in a sense as his behaviour wasn't even up to scratch.

He did what was best for his career, as SAF did what he felt was best for United, unfortunately for us, SAF was too patient, Pogba not enough.

I wouldn't want that cnut back at United even for free.

Why, because he wanted allegedly £30k instead of £15k offered to him? Although he should take some of the blame, i also feel SAF/club should be partly blamed for him leaving.

Other notable Cagliari players are 19 year old left back Nicola Murru and Colombian forward/winger Ibarbo. Both could move to a bigger club soon.

We are nearly 2 weeks in and no sign of any signings, plenty of scouting but no spending.

At this rate we will end up with Osman on deadline day at 11pm.

I must admit it would take a while for me to warm to him, but it's not like he did anything that outrageous in the circumstances - his performances at Juve have kind of justified his actions.

Even if he never becomes a fan's favourite and moves on again after a couple of seasons, I'd be more than happy for us to sign him tomorrow - beggars can't be chosers!

Other big clubs made huge improvements to their squad in the summer window and are currently title contenders, we didn't. We're obviously under greater pressure than the teams above us to add quality to our squad. Don't get me wrong, I don't want us to make any panic buys, I'd rather we take our time and sign players in the summer when we can better evaluate their ability to help the club in the long-term.

Slightly concerned in all honesty, I'd rather Ando gone obviously, but sell before buy? I appreciate he's no first XI team player, don't get me wrong, but with Fellaini out and Carrick just back, what happens if Carrick takes a knock and Clev gets a cold or something? I'm not saying I'd expect Ando to get 10+ games, but I'd like to have him there incase and get rid come summer

Nah Ando's been such a non entity this season it doesn't matter. As I said. It's more important who we let go for me than who we bring in at the moment.

I see, according to Andy Mitten (quite well informed as far as I'm aware) that we're not even looking for a winger, so obviously Moyes is quite happy with the contributions from Nani, Young and Valencia. Brilliant.

That'd be an odd move that is only about one last high wage packet.

He wouldn't be playing in the top 5 leagues!
A shame if true, but might mean we go don't have to manage round his injury problems anymore

Musacchio (a centre back we're supposed to have enquired about) and Griezmann playing right now in Villareal Vs Real Sociedad

Who here honestly thinks we are going to sign someone this month? Woodward and Moyes seem incapable of it to me.

It has become increasingly evident that Moyes looks at a player extensively before considering a bid. The Everton fans dubbed him 'Dithering Dave', so no, we won't be seeing anyone come in this January.

I'm pleased he puts extensive scouting into his transfers and he got very few wrong at Everton, but should some of this have not already been done from September til now? This month is absolutely crucial in my eyes, we need a player or 2 if we are to challenge for 4th. Next summer will be even harder if all we can offer players is the Europa League. The knock on effect is there.

It's World Cup year as well which means that most of the serious transfer business will be conducted in August and the overpricing of the star performers of the tournament will be severe. I agree with Goose that people need to be more optimistic but on the other hand, we're solely relying on Woody to get the required players. He didn't exactly ''do well'' this summer in his new role.

Why is it acceptable to be a doom-monger in transfer threads, but not other football/matchday threads?

Cheer up.

It's very difficult to be positive as a red right now. This season is a write off. Next season we'll be in the Europa League, making it near impossible to bring in the required players. And on top of that it remains to be seen if our manager is any good. I have to laugh to be honest.

The best I was hoping for was a Smalling/Zaha "for the summer" type signing - the only possible first-team signing I could see would've been Coentrao on loan or Baines for a fecking fortune, and I didn't expect either to happen. Still don't.

cheer up

we're not in the Europa League yet and even if we are it didn't stop Liverpool from signing a player like Suarez for example

money talks and I think we will offer plenty of incentives for new players to join regardless of what competition we are playing in

Coentrao looks to be off.

It's not always about spending big amounts, it's about buying the right players. If you are lucky and scout your players properly you might get a real gem of a players. I love the way some people want Baines as he has PL experience, but when a midfielder is mentioned it's the opposite. They want everyone foreign players they can think of, some never set foot in England never mind the PL.

Januzaj. It's all we have. Imagine if he scores a winning wonder goal against Chelsea to win the match? Could happen!
