January Transfer Window

Inner transfer muppet in overdrive today.........Just give me a reformed Ravel and Jesse back and I'd be happy with that...William Carvalho would be awesome too......I'm pretty certain Reus and the other big names linked with us will not be coming in January so I wouldn't expect anyone else apart from the names I mentioned in the first sentence and a few unheard of kids maybe

Well don't think Southampton will be selling Shaw in January and i'd expect him to end up at Chelsea come the summer

We can but try, it might force Chelsea's hand but Shaw and Southampton would then have a decision to make. Plus Ashley Cole would then become available and I honestly think he is still better than Shaw for the next couple of years. Not saying to sign him but if Shaw played for Chelsea right now he would struggle to match Coles contribution of the past few seasons.

Has anyone actually seen Rakitic or is he another Lamela?

I've seen him. And the Lamela comparison isn't really fair. He's yet to come good, and he probably will. Rakitic is a skillful player, good set pieces, but small build and I'd rather look elsewhere, Gundogan is one of the few creative types I think could hack the 2man midfield job.

Those four and i'll be playing on my spunk trumpet til May!

Yep, that would be the mother of all windows for me. Would instantly fix our CM problems (hopefully with Anderson leaving outright or on loan with the option to buy), and provide us with a top class LB. Gould could then be rotated in and out in carefully chosen games and I have a feeling we would use him on the wings to good effect.

what type of a player william carvalho is?

coentrao on loan would be a good move. thought that we had gotten him last august. bringing in him would ease evra's burden of playing every single game and some competition of course.

So what exactly do you expect us to be looking for? Players with no quality?

Do you honestly think we have any chance of signing Vidal in January? Not a hope i'mm afraid....last summer was the window to get a big name or two in and we absolutely blew that chance....In january the big clubs simply do not sell their best players and only ever do in summer time if the sum is at an astronomical level.....Its an insult to Juve to think they will sell us a major player in january in the same way we would be insulted if they bid for Januzaj in January

Get real man, there is no chance Vidal will sign for us. Why he would wanna leave Juventus to join this current Utd team ? Do you honestly think a player of his quality will not attract other (richer) interest ?

We'll probably sign a couple of players from mid-table English clubs and one from a non-PL club who nobody's ever heard of.

We will have to try and get exactly that kind of players though. Enough with the Fellaini's and Zaha's. We need serious quality.

Yeah the club can and should try to sign players like that, us fans shouldn't get our hopes too high though otherwise we'll just end up being really disappointed.

That wasn't my point you twit. How do you expect us to improve if we don't go for the top quality??

However if we want to talk about him then, he plays in a crap league with limited money at the minute. Besides us being a poor team we are exactly a step up for him.

The Serie A isn't crap. And I wouldn't be so sure that we're a bigger pull than Juve, as of now.

Agreed but we knew this all summer..... However we are here now so might aswell through a bucket of money at clubs and see what happens.

Left-back must be the priority. Evra is a disgrace.

Tell Southamption to name their price for Shaw.

Mate its no EPL, la Liga or German league. You'd be a fool to think so unless you don't watch it. I watched the Milan Derby the other day and that was a good level below what we might call a Europa league match which was United v Spurs today. Juventus are not beating any and I mean any big club for a top player right now. My way of analysing this is if Messi decided to leave Barca I reckon a pick of 4 premiership clubs would be ahead of Juve not to mention Bayern and PSG.

......And now the prices also shoot by some because everyone knows exactly how desperate we are.
But feck it, we can't help it. If we got to break the bank now, better do it for Vidal

Why would I answer a dumb question like the one you asked me ? What the feck do you think ? That I wouldn't want the club to try to buy top quality players ? That I would want the club to chase average players ? There is the reality of needing players like Vidal and the reality of not being able to sign a player like Vidal but by all means if you wanna delude and hope for his signature, be my guest. Going from Juventus to Utd would be a step down in his career when he could sign for better and richer clubs.
