Real madrid are very likely to sign ceballos, if they do jamez will even be further down the pecking order and may not even make bench. He will leave. I would be happy with a 40 million euro deal at max if we are to take him.
I think he's worth around €50m and he's a decent free kick taker and a leftie, I think he'd be a good buy personally.
You guys are delusional if you think Perez of all people is backing down from his asking price lol

No9 sorted, now show me a 10 available better than James, he would be sensational. Just the sort of player I want to see at Old Trafford.

James is not cool enough and also not that good. 40m yes, 65m or whatever no. Seeing the Morata negotiations, they wont back down for us, even if we wanted him. I guess James needs to beg them before they sell him to PSG for a lower fee

James is too likely to be another over-valued, Real Madrid reject, who will put his poor form down to the Manchester weather.

Do not want.

Ok mate, I forget Real madrid always win. :wenger:
This is so funny on so many levels

@Redondo_Pirri beat me to the obvious retort

Anyways, james i believe is worth €45M on the books? Don't think we'll lose money on this one. Also think we'll be more willing to negotiate on the price, unlike with Morata this is a player we don't care to keep. Dunno that Perez would be willing to lose time negotiating with United, mind, but other clubs, sure

Didn't you pay 80m euros?

Thing with Madrid is this delusion you have about recouping all of or most of the initial investment after sticking the player on the bench for one or two seasons, most teams would cut their loss at 50% of the initial investment in that situation.

We have Mata Miki even Pogba could be pushed there. We need to spend where we need the bodies, DM & LW, even LB.

You don't know how depreciation works?

You don't know how depreciation works?

Depreciation is appliable to a business asset you've had use for over a said period. How do you measure a footballers depreciation?

Business terms like that doesn't apply for a footballer during his contract, it isn't like buying a fecking printing press.

No, he was a pretty vulnerable guy. Ferguson would never give him the hairdryer.

Your second statment in no way relates to your first one. I highly doubt that was the argument behind him not getting a hairdryer, there were other more credible reasons.

Cantona needed a bit of love, which Ferguson gave him. He didn't have that at other clubs. That's what I see Di Maria needing - but he's spineless. And I assume by Prima Donna you are referring to James being annoyed when he's been taken off by Zidane. Cantona was temperamental too.

That's exactly how it works. Players are assets of the clubs in financial terms. They have a worth on the books which is usually defined by transfer fee/years of contract

We should try loaning him for a year, and then get Griezmann next Summer. Otherwise get Talisca on the cheap, sell Mata (year left on contract?), and then get Griezmann next Summer.

For 40-45 million, yes, we should take Hames. More than that, no. But if, he agrees for salary cut-off for offsetting the transfer fee. 50 million is still ok.

James is the best player in Colombia. He is kind of South American Beckham-esque. His non-football value will be precious.

Football-wise, he is also very good. Dead ball specialist, Long shot distances, play making ability, and good eyes for goals. And decent pace also.

Shame, at the peak of the career, he choose money and pick real madrid.

If we did sign Hames, it would probably mean the end for Mata and we would be stuck with the Colombian if he flops.
I think our priorities lay elsewhere for the kind of fee/wages this would cost.

Real Madrid fans, why hasn't James played much and why are you lot selling him? He was genuinely brilliant in the World Cup in Brazil and looked like a great player. Why hasn't it worked out for him?

Great player and really underrated on here. He just doesn't fit Madrids system but is world class in the no.10 role say in a 4231.

If the rumours of £35-40m in todays market we should be all over it. He'll score just as much as Griezmann and would cost less than half the price.

Not a Madrid fan but it's all down to the system. He requires a no.10 system and Madrid play a wide 433. He's not a winger or a midfield 3 player and since he's well behind Bale and Ronaldo for wide positions and well behind Modric and Isco in the L or R midfield 3.

My guess is they're selling him because he wants out not that they do not want him. As far as I know they want him to stay but cannot offer him minutes. He's obviously not happy warming the bench and knows he can be a main man elsewhere. Gotta admire his ambition tbh. Especially since Madrid are winning all around them currently.

Was injured/out of form at the beginning of 2015/16 season, never got along with Benitez, apparently his behaviour rubbed some of the dressing room alpha dogs wrong

Then Zidane liked/likes isco more, then Casemiro made himself untouchable, no feeling between James and Zizou, Zidane found a setup that worked and chose to stick with it, etc...

Basically, the problem is only one manager in the world could have made Modric, Kroos, James and the BBC play together and make it work, but Florentino sacked him

James was our second best player in his first season, and it was close, despite Cristiano having a 61 goal season. He was incredible. I think he'd instantly be one of the 3-5 best players in the league in england, germany or italy. He was already the second best player in france at monaco, behind only God

I'd value him at £50-60m in today's market, but I think he could easily be worth more than Lukaku in a year's time if he's playing regularly.

Will be interesting to see where he ends up, would love him here.

He just needs to move to some team that still uses a 4231 formation and needs a No.10. How would you compare him to Griezmann?

He's not worth the money Madrid would obviously demand. What did they pay? 65mil?
He hasn't played as much as he could and was left out of the CL final squad, which must've hurt.

I'd take him if available, but let's not get fleeced
