ِBasically As, Marca and everything else linked to him.

And anything is more reliable than those English journalists.

Real own Marca. They are obviously not reliable on that basis. I haven't seen much from AS on James to United. To my knowledge nowhere credible has suggested that Man Utd want him. They just say Real want him to leave and suggested us to purchase him (As in the Skysports headline "James offered to Man Utd").

Yet, it doesn't have anything to with Balague linking us with James. Balague is a cock but he broke the De Gea story, Falcao story and di Maria. He obviously got a lot wrong too but I just don't see him trying to wind up united fans by linking us with James. Why the feck not link us with someone like Aduriz then to send most of us into a meltdown.

He's not on a wind up. He knows Real want to flog James and is doing his bit by aiding a top Spansh side in creating a market, as Drucker points out.

Delaney has spoken. We're definitely signing him.

James Ducker, Simon Stone and Miguel Delayney have all tweeted in the past half hour that we don't want him but he wants to come and Real want to sell. Seems like the British press have been briefed.

I really don't know if to be excited or not with the James link.
My thoughts on him this year is we need other things more than him. If we got the James from the world cup then I'd be all for it, although I still think we have more pressing matters, but I just cant help but think he's yet another Real Madrid cast off who didn't hit the levels expected and is being touted around to make a big sale.

Would he improve our squad? Probably, but I so would a lot of people.

This can be said exactly on English journalist on opposing manner, trying to say Spanish journalists are idiots and deflecting any interest from us for the player.

Possibly a smokescreen.

I'm hoping we don't sign a number 10, which will hopefully mean Jose moving away from his favoured 4231 formation.

Nah you are overstating the pace mate. What pace did the 99 team have? Cole and Giggs, but no-one else. It was the speed of our play that undid opponents. Chelsea don't really have any speedsters, bar Hazard. Spurs haven't either. Speed of thought and passing the ball quickly is far more important.

Monaco had as much pace as you could wish for against Juve, who, in turn, had none. Yet what good did it do them? Juve nullified their pace and then undid their defence with clever movement and quick passing. You need a plan when pace doesn't work, and imo, that is what we are currently lacking.

Mourinho does not have an attacking plan, He depends on freedom and individual quality, dont expect to play like juventus here. We are not organised in attack for unpredictability in this league.

Without pace counter attack has no meaning because attacking transition should be faster than a defensive transition.

Looks like real wants to offload him and they are using our name to create a competition.

Don't think I remember a case of English journos (shit as they are) photoshopping more fans to the stadium/changing colours of their jerseys whereas Marca have done that in favour of Real against us when we've played in the USA. They're literally either on their payroll or 6 feet deep in Madrid's ass.

Except they have no vested interest to do so (unless they have been briefed on the facts, which appears to be the case here).

There is no credible link that says Man Utd want James Rodriguez. Just that Real want to sell him. Also its not worth comparing James Drucker to Marca. One is an established journalist and the other is a club owned propaganda tool that bullshits 98% of the time.

What's this related to our current condition ?

Can someone who has seen him play a lot please put my mind at ease, so worried about this transfer have thought he has not looked great each time I have seem him, looks so one footed with no pace, to be honest I thought he was too similar to Mata, someone please calm me down!

He's our best attacker and is the only person who I would understand not wanting to sacrifice for James.

But thats not what you wrote you said he wont be uprade on Rashford which is simply not true James is in different class altogether. As for Rashford being our best attacker thats highly subjective and its hardly a glowing endorsement anyway when our attack has been shambolic this season and he has been one of the reasons why .

You do realise Rashford went through a long goal drought in Epl this season and despite being part of almost 30 games in epl ,15 as starter he has just scored 5 goals which is quite poor return .

James is not even a step up on Mata for creativity.

No chance - James is way more creative. His passing is much more complete and one of the best penetrative passers in the final third in world football. He might have flaws but his passing isn't one of them.

United NOT interested in signing Rodriguez
Lots of reports coming out now that United don’t want to sign Rodriguez.

Expect this transfer merry go round to continue for the next couple of months.

Of course if we don't sign him he has snubbed us.

Think you replied on yourself regarding this part.

James Ducker is a good journalist, no doubt about it but he doesn't deal with transfers that much imo. If you look at his old articles he never breaks any stories what so ever. English journalists usually only catch on whenever the deal is fecking done.

Thank the lord!!

That they are prone to being full of shit and manage to go even a step ahead of English journos hence what they imply is of very little importance and credibility?

Spanish journalism's attitude is crap, no one can deny that. But that doesn't make English ones angels.

I haven't implied that, have I? Said since post 1 I've said that they're shit themselves, merely pointing out that what Spanish journos say just doesn't merit much attention.

Well then, I'm not disagreeing much about shit attitude of Spanish journalism.

In certain position you need pace(acceleration would be my pick). More important as a fullback than as a nr. 10. And it is not that you need to be fast/paced, it is that you can't be slow. And if you are slow, then you need to be strong. This is important in all positions. In general the physical part of the game has become more important than before. Mata is slow and weak-->We play with one less player when defending-->Big problem for a team.

Pace is of course useful. I just think it is almost a hindrance to the actual quality of English football, but I guess that's another discussion. I think there is no more common way to disguise technical and tactical deficiencies than just speeding up the game in order to increase the unpredictability of the game.

Back to James, he's a fantastic talent. I'm one who thinks Griezmann is a bit overrated personally, and think James under the right conditions has the ability to do at least as well. I have no burning desire for us to sign him, but I won't be as disappointed as many here if we did.

As for his attitude and ethic, I believe a Colombian raised kid can find it within himself to work at least as hard as the PlayStation generation who had Range Rovers at 18.

We need oracle to speak now, won't really believe it until he wades in.

I hope we really don't want to sign him. He seems a bit of a prima donna and we certainly don't need that now in our present condition. We need to be signing people who have the right mentality. Plus, don't want any players deemed surplus to Madrid's plans..

Not that this proves anything. I suspect Woodward has learned to deny everything until the deal is done. Also, I severely doubt they'd (United) admit anyone was our top target.

Basically all English journalists decide to suddenly deny anything related to deal.

This can't be by chance.

If James signs for us within a month I'd say to never ever trust English journalists again. This will be a good acid test in regards how much they know when it comes to United.

Let's see then.

Summer tension has started early this season.

What? All it will mean is we lie to the press, which we always do.

They've clearly all been given the same line by someone at the club.

This thread is probably worth locking until someone from Onda Cero Sport, SER or Castles wade in. Everything about James has been done to death now.

Is James the only player we can sign this summer? Lingard is borderline squad player material, I don't think it's an either/or situation.
We're not in a position to say James isn't good enough for us imo. Our squad is pretty awful compared to what it should be with our finances. Rooney and Zlatan will likely be off in the Summer. To not want James blows my mind. We're not signing Neymar or Ronaldo this Summer
