Anyone who thinks that he's not an upgrade on everyone in our attack sans Rashford is in denial. He's better than Martial, Lingard, and Mata. Mkhi is close but James has been more consistent throughout his career.

Irony in your statement can't be missed even if we try , you claim that any poster who doesn't rate James higher than our current attacking options is in denial and in the same sentence you claim he wont be upgrade on Rashford who frankly speaking has got all to prove , doesn't even have a complete season under his belt and his attacking contribution isn't great this season either.

Can he play wide? Not sure about pogba in a 2 in a 4231, so he would need to be middle of the three surely? That would mean james out wide. Or if we play 433 then again james would need to play out wide.

Ducker is terrible. So is Ogden, Delaney, Luckhurst etc etc.

Genuinely can't believe people don't want James when our other options are Mata and Rooney .

We do have more important positions that need sorting out but Jose could have potentially got them all done and dusted already like he did with Bailly.

Seems like ducker might have been briefed, but perhaps he's just deciding to go against the grain and take the risk.

All I know is silly season is definitely upon us.

The links are too strong to be denied by only journalist, sorry.

The only link is balague from Sky (who favours Spanish clubs and despises United) and an unestablished Colombian radio station.

ِBasically As, Marca and everything else linked to him.

And anything is more reliable than those English journalists.

He's our best attacker and is the only person who I would understand not wanting to sacrifice for James.

This pace obsession symbolises all that is wrong with English football in my opinion. All anyone cares about, no matter what the position is. 'How Fast can they run?'.

In certain position you need pace(acceleration would be my pick). More important as a fullback than as a nr. 10. And it is not that you need to be fast/paced, it is that you can't be slow. And if you are slow, then you need to be strong. This is important in all positions. In general the physical part of the game has become more important than before. Mata is slow and weak-->We play with one less player when defending-->Big problem for a team.

Everyone keeps trying to convince us that we are a naff club in decline, yet every player who wants a payrise, new contract extension or a club drumming up interest still think we are worth mentioning.

I haven't thought of myself as violently against this signing and I like James just fine for a team needing a 10 to complete their lineup (which I don't feel is us at all), but my immediate reaction to reading this was "feck yes" so I guess I am against this signing.

Ducker used to be the man for United news. Hasn't been reliable in recent years. Unless somebody else reliable comes out I'd say the sheer amount of people against him are the ones I'd go with.

Who knows.

Yet, it doesn't have anything to with Balague linking us with James. Balague is a cock but he broke the De Gea story, Falcao story and di Maria. He obviously got a lot wrong too but I just don't see him trying to wind up united fans by linking us with James. Why the feck not link us with someone like Aduriz then to send most of us into a meltdown.

Who was that journalist who said we weren't interested in Herrera and then signed him the following day?

He doesn't have that much better statistics in La Liga than Mata (currently less goals/assists but also less games played) and he's playing for the best club in the world for a couple of years running whereas Mata played for Valencia. So yeah, saying that he isn't better than Mata/Mkhitaryan is not really deluding yourself.

Probably picking Mata's tenure at Chelsea would be the most comparable period given quality of the squad (and would still be off, as James's RM is far better than Mata's Chelsea), if so, then there's practically no difference between the two.

But no one here knows with absolute certainty that these positions have not been or are not being sorted out. Maybe they are as I write this.

Jose is very good at buying players he needs to fit into his plans. I can bet that if he is really pushing for James, it's because he has a clear role for him.

I think next season will be very interesting.

Indeed, maybe we have already aproached our targets, we shall see at September. But judging by our post-Saf transfer windows, we usually don't target our weak spots but we seem to purchase players just for the sake of it.

Ducker is as unreliable as it gets regarding United, if you're using his word to convince yourselves we aren't after James then you may be very disappointed.

Jamie Jackson, I think. Something similar with Shaw, who we signed a week later.

You don't need Ducker to know this story is bs. They're just trying to drum up some interest and who else better to link your reject with?

I like him personally but can't see him being a Jose signing unless he's cheap, which doesn't seem likely.

Jamie Jackson said weren't interested in Shniederlin, he had a medical with us that very same day.
