Not sure how reliable Graham Hunter is but on talksport he said "James deal all but done, and Bale is a massive possibility this summer also". I know he talks shite like Ronaldo hinders Bale etc that's about as much as I know about him. If we were in for these 2 it would mean bye bye DDG 100%
That may be true that's why I used the word guaranteed. Imo, we will be bringing in more than one CM. That's why i say it's too early to say we will be better with a 4231 or a 433.
Both together with James Rodriguez - no - especially as James is defensively not existent. That is what the Madrid fans always critisize about him - his workrate. But both could play an 8 with a more defensive 6 sweeping behind them.
I'm not saying Lingard should be starting, but we know he will stay so I am only trying to figure out how many players we will have for that role. Can James play only in the middle or on the wings as well? Sorry for my ignorance, I haven't seen much of him.

How can a 18 year old have more experience than an 23 year old? Also nobody knows how Mbappe will play in the competitive PL. It only matters what Jose thinks, has he ever spent that much money on an 18 year old? Has he ever trusted an 18 year old and picked him to play most of the matches for any of his past teams? Spending more than 50m on an 18 year old is also a big risk. If you think Mbappe is already a world class player then that's your opinion. IMO we shouldn't gamble so much money on an 18 year old striker when we also have other key positions to take care of.
I think we would be better off with both.

Just seen that DDG hasn't travelled for the Southampton game. He is 100% off in the summer. Surely we should hold them to ransom and get Bale included in the deal some way and buy James separate if it comes to it. gives them a few bob to splash on a signing and having DDG come in.

Defensive work rate depends more on the coach than the players. Some coaches like wenger just dont ask enough of the players in that regard, while Jose demands it. Any player joining a mourinho team should be clear on what is in stock.

Just from what i remember, i don't think we asked about either Robben, Snieder, or van der vaart when Madrid came calling for our Ronald. Well maybe Snieder, obviously.
Bale and James for DDG is a deal we should make if true. Know DDG is world class but so is Bale. James not so sure about but he obviously has talent and can thrive in the no. 10 role.
Bale is too injury prone even for la liga. I expect it would be worse in the more physical EPL.
Also I dont expect madrid to sell Bale and James in the same summer unless they are sure of bringing in someone like Griezmann or Dybala. Perez loves his toys.
Pereira played just a day or two back for the reserves against Tottenham. So it must be Romero who starts.
Hunter certainly has good connections in Spanish football, but I think he's got the best access to Barcelona. I'm not 100% sure as to how well connected he is at Madrid.
He was the one saying we were on the verge of signing Ramos a couple of years ago and it never happened. He will argue that it was on the verge and it just didn't materialise but who's to know how close it was, if it was even a possibility.
Ramos's brother basically used Hunter as his mouthpiece in the UK press to make Ramos to United seem close and the interest real but of course it was all for his contract negotiation.
He is well connected though.

We have pace, but we lack players with the craft to be able to make best use of it. We need guile, creativity and a regular goal threat coming from deeper positions. James is also a great set piece taker, and let's not forget, we currently have Rashford taking corners! We all know we need to strengthen other positions, so i very much doubt signing James is going to affect that. Jose will get whatever he wants for whoever he needs for next season, and i think we will see at least another 4 players coming in at LB, CB, DLP and CF.
Not saying it'll happen, but If Real were to buy Mbappe, De Gea and perhaps Hazard, then they could afford to let both James and Bale go in the same window. Fat chance of it happening though.
If we get him, I hope this turns out like Sneijder for Inter. That would be amazing from Jose.

I really wanted Bale before to join us but with his current injures I'm worried. Too many injures will have its effect on his pace which is the his best attribute and without it he'll be very normal player imo.
Especially Calf injuries. You cannot run if they keep getting injured! Without his pace and shooting power he is pretty average.

What I would take from Real is James+Morata=De Gea. There are better players at Madrid but they wont be selling them anytime soon.

Nah you are overstating the pace mate. What pace did the 99 team have? Cole and Giggs, but no-one else. It was the speed of our play that undid opponents. Chelsea don't really have any speedsters, bar Hazard. Spurs haven't either. Speed of thought and passing the ball quickly is far more important.
Monaco had as much pace as you could wish for against Juve, who, in turn, had none. Yet what good did it do them? Juve nullified their pace and then undid their defence with clever movement and quick passing. You need a plan when pace doesn't work, and imo, that is what we are currently lacking.
Moratta is a strange one. He was sold the previous year to Juve and was bought back and now he is wanting to leave again. He should have saw this coming before going back to Madrid.
