IF BVB were also playing the brinksmanship long game on fee this window, the VdB signing will hopefully soil their pants abit. ie: If they don't agree to our demands very soon, we'll spend our all budget elsewhere.

So long as our club fills in other required slots, I'm fine with not going for Sancho this summer. Screw BVB. We can try again next summer or also try for another candidate.
BD are one of very few clubs in the world who don't need to sell players this season. They have been making massive profits from player sales, and are now trying to focus on winning silverware. So they would rather hold on to their best players unless a ridiculous offer comes along.

Today was Donny Day, but soon it will be Sancho Day. He was the lower priced alternative to Grealish so we could still afford Sancho.

Not too sure on Shaw as RB and AWB as LB but other than that it looks good

Unrelated to the flight tweet

I've still felt like its still been on and only feel stronger about it now that the VDB deal is going through.

I would've felt that it's dead in the water had we splashed the crazy money for Grealish but VDB went for a more than reasonable fee likely a good amount of funds left for a marquee signing like this.

Obvious fake account.

This is wrong on all counts.

Bvb suffered significant losses due to Covid and they are extremely dependent on fans being back in the stadium. Watze has been begging for that to happen.

And their business model is the same, get young players with the promise that they won't force them to stay.

No young kid goes to BvB with the intent of staying there for the long term.

Even if it was true, what would a transfer request change?
A transfer request has a significant effect. It now means the club has a player who doesn't want to be there and has openly stated his heart isn't in the matter. From what I understand, it also means he waives any lump sum he would be due as part of the transfer.

That last sentence is a good point. Hand it in, Jadon.

Dortmunds focus and objective has never been to win silverware. This has been outside of their business goal. Their whole structure is based around buying young cheap potential and churning them into star players for large profits.

If Dortmund's focus was now to win silverware, they would have to spend significantly large sums of money to bring in world class players to even compete with Bayern Munich. Dortmund are not stupid enough to try and compete with a power house such as Bayern. Bayern are stronger now than they have ever been in the last 10 years. Dortmund would be choosing the most difficult time to be competing with Bayern now.

If utd present 120m Euro in any kind of reasonable structure.....guaranteed Dortmund will accept without any hesitation. Even if it is the last day of the window. It meets all their criteria from a business objective. Dortmund will know even by keeping Sancho, they will not win the league. By selling Sancho, they will still get top 4 easily and qualify for the revenue generating champions league spots. Don't be fooled by Dortmunds hard stance.

Wait. Are there still people out there that believe this is going to happen?

Only a matter of time. Wouldn't be surprised if United sign 1-2 other players before dumping all of that money on Sancho.

Zaha has been handing in transfer requests for the last 3 summers now yet it hasn't changed anything in regards to Palaces willingness to sell
