Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

Am I mad to still want Sancho over Messi? Messi would probably only last 2 years in the Prem and our team would probably have to change style to fit Messi in.

Messi to City could help us push this along perhaps.

We can't sit there and do nothing while our rivals buy the GOAT. We need to hit back and sign the next best young thing to match their intent.

Not at all. Signing Messi would actually fit our mistakes which we've been making all along the last 10 years. We always bought the shiny toy instead of sticking to the plan.

We've been down that road before with trying to buy stars and then hoping it'll work out. Let's do it differently this time.

I have been through Sneijder, Thiago, Hazard, Kroos, Vidal, Ronaldo (x2) sagas. So the current situation wouldn't stop me from dreaming! this will happen. They. Are. Worried.

Last hope I have for this tbh! Seems pretty much dead right now though, so it needs something to kick start everything.

Should get this done ASAP. Because when City sign Messi, Dortmund will try and financially extrapolate our desperation to 'answer back' with Sancho.

Certainly something positive to be taken from how quiet we've been regarding Sancho, when you look at how quickly we've denied any interest in Messi.

How far away from his valuation are we.

Lets just crowdfund the difference...I won't be able to take Messi at City whilst we're still preparing a bid for Brooks on 4th October.

The onus shouldn't be on the fans to crowfund a transfer, it should be only the multi-billion pound corporation and its multi-billion pound owners.

Not at all. I doubt that's a niche view.

You can't crowdfund BVB's demands. Or can you crowdfund a time-machine? The 10. August is long gone. Different from a Glazer owned and Woodward driven United Dortmund is actualy focusing on playing a football-season and not on making profit for the owners while preventing the absolute minimum which i needed that the whole construction does not explode. Therefor the club had to plan, and now in the scetchbooks of the responsible persons at the club the season has already started. Thatswhy it was called "a deadline".

People are beginning to accept that this transfer is unfortunate dead

It does look that way and, you know what, I can accept that. What I cannot accept is the silence and lack of movement around any attempts to strengthen the squad in other areas. Jadon Sancho is needed but he is not the only player we need. Its as if the powers that be have decided its Sancho or nothing and, since they can't get Sancho, Ole is just going to have to make do with what he's got. Considering how thin our squad is, in terms of genuine quality, I honestly can't believe the lack of movement.

The three point statement read:

‘Manchester United has been consistent in its position regarding recruitment since the start of the Covid crisis’:

  • The club point out that it remains committed to supporting the manager in strengthening the squad over the long-term.
  • The club also points out that this summer’s transfer window will not be ‘business as usual’ because of the huge economic impact from the pandemic, both in terms of immediate loss of revenue and uncertainty over the long-term impact of the crisis.
  • United’s point of view is that these harsh economic realities means the club must be cautious this summer to ensure that the club preserves its strength through this difficult period.

I think it happens but we are waiting on outgoing sales and it will be the only move we make. We are likely to raise around 20m for Smalling and then maybe around 15m a piece for Pereira and Lingard who look like they are on their way out. Possibly a little more will come from fringe players or loan fees and so we will only need to spend 50m net for Sancho. The biggest hold up would seem to be BVB are not willing to take an IOU so we need to sell before we buy.

So United says Nein, too? Is that the "briefing" a lot of people were waiting for? Iam suprised that Woodward send an Email, considering all his sucesses i was expecting him stil using racing pigeons or maximum a Tele-Fax.

Majority of sensible people will share a similar view, despite Messi being arguably the best ever, Sancho is much more the direction in which we should be moving

Who are these stars who we have bought in the last 10 years? RVP? Di Maria and Zlatan maybe?

PL teams can sign Championship teams until October 16th.

So our Brooks bid may come then.

Club said this at start of the window and a bit before it. They also said they were confident of signing Sancho, don't think this statement above means much but to tell Phil Brown to shut up and stop moaning

We`ve had so many people write such articles, why would he receive such a response of all people? If that was something official, all of the media would have been briefed.

Pilib De Brun
Briefing from the club. Cant see us doing much this summer. There were rumours that the Bruno transfer was money earmarked for this summer, that they had to spend in Jan due to our position. Plus the Covid situation, and I would imagine all the deadwood that we probably cannot shift.

I didnt see anything official from Utd, saying they were confident of signing Sancho?

I get that but why brief only him... Nobody give a flip what he says, most people do not even know who he is.

I genuinely thought he was on the banned list until today. I don't think he's meant to be credible in the slightest.
