Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

Dortmund have never insisted on all of it upfront, we have been trying to play the system by adding unachievable addons we have a history of this under woodward.

One of the crazy rumours I read on Twitter was that to be due one of the add ons United would need to win the Champions League three times in a five year period.

Edit : Old content from yesterday(?) apparently

That’s certainly very up in the air? It’s not like he says he will certainly be working with Sancho again?

If anything he’s setting up a narrative without him.

Favre's message for the club is crystal clear. Get down of your westfalian horse and allow the transfer to happen, and bring me some new players (as Watzke said last week there's no money for transfers) before it gets toxic with Sancho if he doesn't improve his attitude.

He's openly contradicting the club's strategy about painting it rosie with a realist message, when everyone inside is being instructed to paint flowers and rainbows around this matter. If you want a player to stay you don't say he needs to be a better professional and run more than 10 minutes when the club is trying to protect the player's value.

That part of improving the chest control is pure circus, when he's just being asked if the player can be a difference maker. He's going as far as he can from his position, but it couldn't be clearer what he thinks about this. The last months of the season were revealing too.

For me it's not a coincidence that he's making noises now when we're getting linked with other players. The man is nervous at the prospect of us going elsewhere and he's putting pressure. If he does this publicly imagine what he's doing inside.

What Favre doesn't say is "I don't know what will happen in the future."
As far as i can tell from his broken German, he says "Later, what is happen (sic) later." Whether that's a (rhetorical?) question or statement i'm not even sure, but one definitely shouldn't take anything he says literally...
What's more interesting is his assessment of Sancho, but that's old news, i think?

Since the question was "how important is it for you that Sancho is definitely staying, that you can definitely plan with Jadon Sancho during your pre-season?" I assume he meant to say that it's very important for the time being and that they'll see what it brings for next season, but since he butchered the latter part of that answer people are obviously free to believe that he casually contradicted both his bosses and the reporters chose to ignore it.

Guys. Save your energy and your zips.

Stay unzipped until the close of the window. Less dangerous, less risk of tennis elbow. Not really socially acceptable but who cares.

This post pleases me

https://www.sportspromedia.com/news/borussia-dortmund-2019-20-revenue-profit-loss-covid-19

Borussia Dortmund post €43.9m loss for 2019/20
Covid-19 sees matchday revenues fall by 27.2% to €32.5m.

I wonder how they will get some additional cash and a cash injection??? Hmmm.
Sadly this is what all clubs are dithering about;do we succumb to the demands?

BD may want to hold out for their 108m but losing a huge amount of revenue while spending 30m on Bellingham does give the impression that sooner rather than later they have to make up that deficit by selling.

Furthermore, with the recession it's not as if fans will be rushing back in droves to watch live games. Redundancies, job cuts etc will have a huge effect on how you spend your money

It would be in the interest of both Manchester and BVB to agree the transfer at the earliest rather than posturing. If the difference was close to 20 millions which was the case than its better a middle ground is found. This will ensure that both are not held to ransom at the later stage. With BVB finances hit they will not be able to make a new transfer due to COVID situation. We all know Ed is posturing but it hits on the football side of things and we end up paying up more like in case of Maguire and Bruno Fernandes

You love to see it.
That's a very narrow and insensitive view to take.

Do you think that Utd and other football clubs haven't suffered losses? Industries in general have taken a hit. Arsenal got rid of a huge number of employees. It has a spiralling effect on all society. Just because you want a player that badly don't lose sight of the bigger disastrous picture. Would you watch one of your neighbours lose their house and livelihood but think," Hey I can buy his house on the cheap, he'll have to sell to me now!"

Calm down mate. I’m sure he is just jesting and copying BVB’s silly tagline. And BVB isn’t our neighbours though

I like the philosophy behind this post.

It's not really succumbing to their financial demands, but from a BD point of view, you're trying to maximize the financial gain from this player and knowing that budgets are already reduced this year, what makes you think you'll get equal or more in 9 months when there's less revenue and tighter club budgets because matchday revenue could be or will be null?

Also the Haaland fee and wages from January.

They want shot.

Its way too quite. Usually during our long drawn out negotiations in the past, a few tidbits kept whirling around. Still can happen, a long time before the window shutters but this looks unlikely unfortunately.

That Bellingham has played very well makes me SO SALTY. Get Sancho now.

But also, if United get players like that, we're trying to develop them to help us win trophies and better ourselves for years. BD is a selling club and they are able to compete in a league that has one true giant and then it's the rest. In order for the rest to have a serious title challenge, they have to be at their best while Bayern have to drop their standard quite a bit.
