Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

He hasn't handed in any sort of official transfer request, but he's already agreed personal terms with Chelsea (like Sancho with us), and he's already let Leverkusen know about his desire to leave.

So he hasn't handed in a transfer request. The other poster made it look like he did something there.

I reckon there are journalists between those who are reliable i.e Fabrizio and WUM's like Castles. Like your Henry Winters, Kavehs etc. A few updates from those kind of sources, who are somewhat in the know would suggest, yeah things are moving foward. Right now it seems neither Utd nor BVB will budge and there is no active dialogue between the clubs.
Calm before the storm.

Well, I was refreshing the thread for entertainment but nothing has happened or looks like it's going to happen.
I apologise on behalf of redcafe for not entertaining you. Everton forum must be a top laugh if your seeking it over here.

You'd expect if anything to hear something before the end of August at the latest with the season starting not long after that. If it stays as quiet as this for that long I'll be shocked.

Call me a muppet but I genuinely believe we are 100% focused on still signing him.

A number of reliable journalists have confirmed we are still in talks in trying to get something done. We wouldn’t be wasting our time even negotiating if we knew the door wasn’t open for a possibility.

The reason we have very little transfer news is because we’ve simply not entertained any other transfer yet other than trying to do a Sancho deal.

If Sancho deal was dead in the water, the first thing Utd would have done is come out and say they’ve ended their interest in him this summer in order to avoid the constant questions and speculation. Sancho would have come out and said he is happy to stay for another year at least so him and Dortmund can focus on the season ahead instead of facing the same questions.

This. Thank you. It's a very complicated transfer, every club is unsure of finances thanks to COVID-19 which only makes the deal more difficult. As a lot on here have mentioned, a 120million euro deal isn't just going to be completed overnight.

Also, its strange Woodward gets all the abuse and not the Glazers. Ultimately, Woodward can only spend what he's sanctioned to do so. It's not his money. I'm 100% confident that if the management have told Ed they absolutely want Sancho and the Glazers tell Woodward the money is there to make it happen, he would get the deal done in an instance. What personal reason would he have not to do the deal?

It's not. He wants the center stage, where he is the main man. Unfortunately he is bad at his job when it comes to transfers. He constantly gets rinsed in incoming and outgoing transfers. Plus i am more than sure that he has massive incentives in his contract regarding profitmaking, so every 100 mil unspent is straight up cash for him. that is why in CL seasons (i wrote about it a couple of days ago) he doesnt spend money. we are already in CL, club making money, why make transfers? i honestly believe that he doesn't care about trophies like we do, Glazers neither, i watch NFL and every year they (TB Bucs) are dogs*it, this year might be different because they signed Tom Brady BUT, signing TB12, when he is 67 years old or smth is still a good move even if they dont win games. Brady shirt is already the highest selling shirt in NFL right now, so in my mind they made the move because of the financial benefits first.
But back to Eddy, when he should have gone for the top sporting directors like Monchi, Zorc, Berta, Mitchell etc. Even bringing in someone like Rio, who understands our club and commands respect. it's not normal that we do 1 transfer at a time and even that 1 transfer takes 3 months to do

It would be a British transfer record and one of the most expensive transfers in the history of the game. It ain’t going to happen easily but is well worth the effort.

Any updates at all muppets? I'll take anything, even someone somewhat reliable saying we are still in talks is enough.

We had a bad result so I have been expecting some PR spin from United, but it has been quiet.

Bale on loan i'm telling you. That's where this is all heading. We will be priced out of Sancho this summer so we will try and get Bale on loan with Madrid covering some of the wages. Maybe then go back in for Sancho next summer.

I just don't see us spending 108m on him when cash isso evidently tight so unless Dortmund drop their fee I think it's dead in the water for now.

If they can cover part of wages I genuinely don't see how getting a player like Bale in is a problem :D

what are the golf courses like in Manchester

We should have cloned Becks when he left we’d have a ready made right winger in a year or two.

This is a waste of time. I seriously cannot understand why Ed isn't looking at other areas of improvement. Regardless of Sancho situation, he should be negotiating for CB and MID. Maybe our transfer budget will reduce from 150 to 80 million, we will tell Dortmund to take it or leave it and move off to other targets. Waiting for Sancho won't secure top 4. Improving the depth will. We don't have a clever CEO or manager.

Becks wouldn't be a right winger in this era. He lacked the pace, skill and explosiveness. He'd have probably have been a RB in the TAA mould or a wide CM ala De Bruyne.

I think the more time passes and we inevitably hit a stalemate/brick-wall with Dortmund our attention will divert to finding a back-up to Greenwood rather than having Greenwood be the back-up (to Sancho).
