Dortmund knew they will be posting significant losses and would lose negotiating power once the news it's out. That's probably why they wanted it be done before Aug 10th.
Hopefully now that the results have been announced, they accept that this is a buyers market due to cash issues across Football and sell him to us at whatever price we are comfortable at.

Oh, they will sell out their home tickets the moment the restrictions will be lifted (which will be a step by step process anyway). Thinking otherwise means seriously underestimating the demand for both season tickets (their wating list is longer than the number they give out) or match tickets for Borussia Dortmund. They filled out their portion of the stadium tickets rather easily when the global financial crisis hit in 2008 and they will do so in the future (their supporter base has grown by a lot since then).

Whether it's justified or not, I don't think that level of it is, a lot of anger and venom will be aimed at the board and Ed by association if we end up having a poor window after the strong finish to the season especially after Ole's been vocal about imrpoving the quality in the squad
At the end of the day if the Glazers and Ed don't back Ole the fan backlash will be a lot and rightly so. We are supposed to be a football club before a business.

I saw a speculative theory on social media that Woodward is trying to facilitate a move for Depay or Zaha to Dortmund as a replacement for Sancho. If we have a sell-on clause in those contracts (e.g. for 25% or resale value as reported here https://www.football365.com/news/wilfried-zaha-deja-vu-man-utd-transfer-clause-palace-price), and Dortmund uses our cash to buy one for 60m euros, that would reduce our effective outlay by about 15m and could make the deal doable. You could even imagine a type of scenario where Dortmund sell Sancho to us, Palace sell Zaha to Dortmund, and we give Palace Lingard (or other deadwood) on the cheap to facilitate the whole thing.

Nothing about the loss is any news, though. They informed their share holders end of June that they would finish firmly in the red this season with a loss in the ballpark of 50 Mil. €. What they now provided is a more detailed view on the actual numbers which show that while matchday income tanked by a lot, the overall revenue bar transfers is actually nearly the same as last season (they originally expected growth, though), so what really drives the number down is the money they spend on the transfer market, especially in the Winter window, and no transfer income (not only for Sancho but players in general).
Some of the spending in the Winter was definitively with the expectation to make money on the market in the Summer. Then Corvid came and changed the landscape. I have no doubt in my mind that without Corvid Sancho would no longer wear yellow and black right now and they would have already signed a replacement. That was the whole point about the secrecy of Sanchos actual contract length, because he had an agreement to be able to leave if a club payed a certain amount until a certain point in time and a departure with two years left on contract would have simply looked better. The original number that floated around in the Winter was 150 Mil. € which was then probably adjusted down because of the circumstances around Corvid.
Also, its strange Woodward gets all the abuse and not the Glazers. Ultimately, Woodward can only spend what he's sanctioned to do so. It's not his money. I'm 100% confident that if the management have told Ed they absolutely want Sancho and the Glazers tell Woodward the money is there to make it happen, he would get the deal done in an instance. What personal reason would he have not to do the deal?

How he talks about we need to be "100% sure when we make them deals" before any transfer is done. Clutching straws, but it seemed like it was carefully given answers without giving too much away.

I imagine it will something similar to last Summer. Big money signings but only after sales, deals falling through and positions being neglected. I had just come across it minutes prior and thought of this saga right away and how OTT the fanbase can be when angered but I guess it's more acceptable to describe in text form than video illustration.

There is no sell on clause in the Depay deal. We get first refusal only and even that I believe is a gentleman's agreement as the French laws are different.

Tell effin Sancho to put in a transfer request.... I don't see him being interested in moving to United at all. You look at Havertz and he's trying his level best to have his move to Chelsea go through. Not only are we dealing with Dortmund on having paying so much but we are not even doing other deals which are equally important. Sancho alone is not gonna win us the league.
