Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

I wonder how many have? He could be the next real wonderkid or the flavour of the season hype train we always get, where people just start repeating it. There's been plenty of those mentioned nonstop in threads who many are now glad we didn't get.
The thing is the kid has been rated highly as a talent since very young, and predicted a future star. When he goes and display the sort of form he has for Dortmund at that age it is a huge sign he'll reach his heights. Of course he might not end up becoming a star just because it was predicted many years ago, but it means it is a lot more stupid to disregard him than older 'one season prospects'. He is similar to Martial in that regard, and about as a sure thing you can expect to find at this point. I haven't watched him that much even, but I wouldn't bet against him making it at this point.

Good post. IIRC there was a lot of hype about City’s new academy with Sancho and Foden as the picks of the bunch.

From what I’ve seen of Sancho, he has it all to be a top player. And Zorc’s recent comments seem to indicate they’re willing to sell for the right price. Seems like a no brainer to me.

Even if he doesn't improve from this point, he's already one of Dortmund's best players. Any small improvement and he'll basically be world class.

Even if you ignore the fact we have the money and he’d be an instant starter and fit in seamlessly on our right side as it’s our most glaring hole, he has to be aware of the current situation surrounding young players and English clubs. City with their 9 world class attackers and Foden getting 3 minutes each month, Chelsea about to lose Hudson-Odoi because they wouldn’t play him, and us taking a squad full of teenagers over to France to play PSG. He must be able to see we’d suit him right down to the ground.

He's very good, but far from World class yet. He's also not Dortmund's best player, Reus is.

Yup. It all makes too much sense not to happen eventually, only question is when. From a neutral point of view, I would understand if he chose to stay at Dortmund for another year or two to continue his development. He's only 18 after all and he might feel it's too soon to make another step up.

That tweet wouldn't inspire me with confidence if i were a Dortmund fan. He's basically saying he has a price.
Actually, he is basically saying that he stays in Dortmund at least for one season :D. And that the price will incease and increase. United will have to compete with Real and Co, and it will be probably a new record sale. Good luck interpreting Zorc in the wrong way and dreaming a Muppetdream. If you need a RW immideateley for the next season you will have to look somewhere else. Its pretty simple. Normally our bosses talk very rarely and commenting things, and if they does, you can take their words for granted.

Just like here right?

Or maybe here?

Well aware of how Dembele forced the move but what actually happened is why comments like the above should always be taken with a pinch of salt.

Real already have brahim diaz ascensio and viniscus junior. Putting up a fake competition ain't going to work to inflate the price.

Yeah, you are right. Dembele is a different case which i think will never happen again, cause of the lenght of the contract especially in Sanchos case (and i think Sancho isnt a douchebag like Dembele).
The same argument applies to Mikitaryan, if i remember correctly his last year came near, and they hoped that he will extent, which he didnt so they let him go, but with extrem hard negogiations between Raiola and United which leads to a big fee.

But you have to remember that Sancho extented his contract in the beging of the season till 2022, so we are safe to do what we want, which will be: Him staying at least one more season and watch his value increasing.

I think this was mentioned in this thread before already.

You guys talking the whole time what incredible talent he is. Do you think that United is the only one who will be interested? I think his age, his talent and so on will inflate the price, for this there is no need to "talk or doing some kind of tactic", watch him play will be enough.

From his Twitter he seems to
Did you make your Caf account just so you could tell us we can't sign Sancho?
Are you Michael Zorc?

We will make a bid this summer and he will force it through. Dortmund will be paid handsomely.

I'm very confident.

I think this is the case too.

Sooner or later we will read rumours about Dortmund getting a new winger who will replace Sancho. Actually some sources has already mentioned Zaha.

Sanchez gone and Sancho will be given the 7. At the moment I dont see any other outcome in this case.

People here are very confident. I’d be over the moon if we signed him, but at the minute I think there’s less than a 10% chance of it happening.

Yeah I don't really see where this confidence is coming from. Obviously he'd be a great signing but has there been any reputable journo saying we're in for him? I've seen loads of Daily somethings write about it but other than that all I've seen is Zorc saying he doesn't want to sell. I'll believe it when I see it.

Seeing as a journo who recently interviewed the lad is talking up our interest, I'd say it's fairly likely to presume its there, doesn't mean the deal will happen though obviously.

Never heard of him but then I tend to ignore the Mirror. Is he reliable? Tried checking the Reddit list but the red devils page seems to be down for me
He normally reports on the London clubs but interviewed Sancho afew weeks back and then linked the player to United and PSG. There's quite a few journos who think we're actively trying to sign him including James Ducker, Neil Custis and Daniel Harris who writes for the Guardian.

Alright cheers

If Sancho tells Dortmund he'd like to join us, then I think Dortmund will negotiate with us. And it does seem like Sancho enjoyed our win over PSG so that to me is a sign..:D

Know it is a little off topic but Rabiot also enjoyed our victory too. Wouldn't mind him on a free transfer

What is this obsession with giving newcomers our number 7 anyway? Too many have come and failed that number including Owen, Di Maria, Memphis, Sanchez... How about we let a new player earn it first before we commit such an icon to them? The fact that we have let too many players shame that number also put a stain on its legendary status.

Yes, Not many top clubs need a wing player, specially for those prices. I don't see any suitors for him.

Everyone always needs productive wide attackers (except City basically) and the market will create movement.

Chelsea could well be replacing Hazard, Barca replacing Coutinho, PSG might finally sell Cavani or Neymar and if Mbappe is up top, RW is free. Madrid seem likely to get rid of Bale, so a Sancho-9-Asensio frontline makes a ton of sense. Bayern probably can't get him but need him the most. Atletico Madrid too, though they probably can't afford it.

Players move centrally as they get older too, so while Barca play a 4-3-3 still, they're been moving to a 4-4-2 with Messi more central and Dembele as a winger. Sancho on the opposite wing would be devastating. Similarly, Juve buying Sancho to hit crosses at Ronaldo and paying for it by selling Dybala would make sense. Would you want to play Juve with Cristiano as a 9 and Costa and Sancho providing him chances?

I'd say United, Chelsea and PSG end up bidding hard after Hazard finally leaves and PSG sell one of their front 3.

He's 18. Barring serious injury, he can be sold in 5-10 years for at least his value and basically just cost wages, even if he ends up being a top 30-40 player and not a Ballon d'or winger.

Lots of hypothetical situations there. Chelsea are transfer banned and already secured pulisic and have Hudson adoy who fails to get chances. Real Madrid already have a youngster more talented who I think will be better than Sancho if given play time in Brahim diaz who they just recently bought along side ascensio and viniscus junior. It will be difficult for them to offload bale with the price and salary he is on. I don't see any reason psg will get rid of top class striker given their ucl ambitions and see Sancho fulfilling those. Juventus don't buy youngsters for huge prices and already have players like bernardeshi who shone against athletico and retain costa too. Sale of coutinho remains far fetched as well.

We did that though. Valencia got it after earning it in 2012 and he went to crap.

It certainly wouldn't be a stretch to say he was the best 2000 talent in the world. He won the u17 Euros best player and may of done at the World Cup too but Dortmund recalled him after the group stages.

Personally I'd say there were a number at the same level, even in the England team, Hudson Odoi and Foden to name two.

Definitely not to the point where you could have called him a generational talent.
He wasn't rated any higher than 7/8 others prospects born in 2000.
Haven't seen the original quote but if you're talking about Sancho then he 100% was rated the highest in that group.

Potential is there. Belief clearly is there. Pedigree is there. Def fits the Utd profile. My problem is the fee and the pressure that comes with it on such a young lads shoulders. If we sign him, I hope its not the highest paid transfer of the summer and maybe Hazard to Real allows it to be 'less profiled' as best as any Utd signing an English talent for 80m+ could be....oh def don't give him the '7' shirt in his first season....

A few years ago, I felt the highest rated kids from the 2000 group was Sancho, Foden, and Gomes. And probably Sessegnon.
