Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

Of course he will play for Borussia Dortmund next season. We will buy him and send him back on loan.

Have they ever successfully held onto a player when bigger clubs come calling though?
We don't know. A lot of approaches never hit the papers. They're not a selling club but they are a practical club. They are willing to reject bids as long as the player is happy to stay.

No we wont, for the fee he'll cost we aren't paying it unless we are getting him immediately, you don't drop £100M+ and then wait a year while he plays for someone else, he could get injured for starters and then you've gotten nothing for your money.

Lewandowski..

That was classic pride before a fall stuff though, had he wanted to come to us or Chelsea instead of Bayern then they'd have sold. I think the best example of them holding onto a star player is maybe Reus, although part of that was down to his injury prone nature and the fact he only seemed interested in going to one of the Spanish giants.

Just sounds like he is protecting his asset. Why bother coming out with this otherwise, especially "But I’m saying that even the biggest clubs in the world can hardly afford his transfer at the moment"? Just say nothing, or simply "He will not be sold under any circumstance". Obviously they would rather keep him, it all depends on Sancho though. They are not going to refuse a sale if the player wants to leave IMO as it might deter other young players from going there.
Still seems unlikely for us, but I'll hold out hope until the summer.

It was tongue in cheek, in light of Mr. Zorc's comments.

That tweet wouldn't inspire me with confidence if i were a Dortmund fan. He's basically saying he has a price.
I think most Dortmund fans would acknowledge they're resigned to losing him at some point.

Of course he does. Once he indictats a willingness to leave, Dortmund will put a price on him.

That tweet translate to "you better pay a lot if you want Sancho this summer"

It's on

All I've read about Sancho and what he wants is that he wants what's best for his development, and that probably means staying at Dortmund for another year. Dortmund want the same. And they're probably right. To be completely honest I don't think it will happen this summer.

What makes you think that? It seems every transfer rumour about a young player is followed by the statement that staying one more year is best for his career? Why? We have fantastic coaches at Utd, our squad is almost nothing but young, exciting players.
Utd is one of the great clubs in developing young, talented players.

Agreed. We can add that he has friends in our first team squad and he already has stayed in Manchester before - no reason for him to not fit in despite his age.

I'd say he's already "developed" to a point that he's first team pick wherever he wants to play now. Only 2/3 clubs have better players in his position on the RW. If he joined us he'd be first pick every game.

I don't know if its on but agree with your translation of tweet. Big enough bid and its a possibility.

The reality is he knows Sancho is not going to be there long. What they need to figure out is if they want to capitalize on him say for a 100m rising to 150 kind of a bid or keep him next season, likely he will cont to shine and maybe even do well in Euros so that more competition which might raise the price more? But how much more is it going to go and is it worth the risk of his performances dipping or injuries. And of course if Sancho wants to leave.

Yep. Zorc needs to figure out whether to sell him while he's hot for huge money now, or wait until next year when he could break a leg or have a poor season.

For us also this summer could be very important. With Brexit looming we have no idea how this could effect things with transfers.

He'd hit the ground running if he came here, seems quite obvious to me.

Absolutely. A front three of Martial - Rashford - Sancho would be lethal wouldn't it? And linking up with the other two would be a big selling point in negotiations. And we'd have Lukaku, Greenwood and Lingard as back up, which is genuine strength in depth.

If that front 3 hit it off in terms of chemistry, it would be terrifying for any teams that face us for at least 8 seasons or so, given their ages.

Not many on here questioning his quality. I, for one, am not convinced he will become the top player most expect. We've been longing for a right winger that can beat a player for so many years, our desperation has clouded our judgement. Hope I am wrong, as it sounds like we're closing in on him

I've got a lot of respect for the Bundesliga but it's going through a crisis now and Sancho's stats might be a bit misleading. They will want 120m or something and it's doubtful he's worth that fee.

Zorc was saying a while ago that he'll never let a player force a sale again while he's in charge. Not selling Jadon Sancho makes a lot of sense to try and make sure Bayern don't run away with the title next season.

If Zorc 100% won't sell then we should try to take Bale on loan for a year then get Sancho a year down the road.

Bergwijn and Lozano are two other options if all else fails.

If United want Jadon Sancho and he wants to join United I very much doubt that Dortmund will be able to turn it down, judging by Zorcs quotes it sounds like he's trying to drive the price up.

Getting sicknote Bale should be an absolute non-option, that ship has sailed a long time ago. Real would never loan him anyway.

Signing Sancho makes so much sense, he ticks all the boxes. He's talented, he's young, he's English, he plays on the right.

If we could pull this deal over the line our attacking options are mouthwatering. Martial, Rashford, Lukaku, Lingard and Sancho all in one team. That is some serious depth. Among the best in the league no doubt.

And Greenwood :) who will have a role to play next season

Zorc did manage to hold on to Pulisic when big clubs were hovering for an extra year or so. Chong going there on loan for a year would be a nice sweetener if we can get Zorc to do a deal.

Even if that is the case, would you stop at 60m? If Liverpool or City offer 110 and we could get him for 120m, why not?

Dembele is working out for Barca and he cost more. I think they'll demand a similar fee for Sancho.

Hardly seen him play...but sign him up!!!

I wonder how many have? He could be the next real wonderkid or the flavour of the season hype train we always get, where people just start repeating it. There's been plenty of those mentioned nonstop in threads who many are now glad we didn't get.
