He doesn't seem to have any shame or regret about where his career is heading. He's not even in the top 10 choice of wingers for England right now and doesn't seem to give a single damn.

Style of play is so risk averse. Looks all neat and tidy with his dribbling but always amounts to nothing but passing the ball backwards.

He had a big drop off in form in the Bundesliga. If that’s not a mentality red flag then what is ? My view is biased as I never rated him.
Used to talk to a guy well connected at Man City and he always said he would end up playing for us, that was when he was at city as a youth.
I’ve laughed at Chelsea’s transfer business in recent years but I’m oh so grateful for them helping us out with this one! I honestly thought he was a parasite we’d never be able to get rid of until the end of his contract. Nice to see it’s someone else’s problem now.
He also returned to form and lead Sortmund to a cup win. Young players not reliably performing is nothing special and usually doesn't cause people to worry about their mentality as it's just part of a players development. There have been other red flags, but that drop off in form really wasn't one.
On the contrary he proved that he can work (!) himself out of such a hole.
