Jadon Sancho - Chelsea (loan) watch

Disagree with you on this one. In my opinion the top level players don’t let their performances drop as low as he did and that’s mainly down to how talented they are.
Show me one player who constantly delivered world class prrformances aged 20. Because that's what Sancho did when he was in form. It's perfectly normal for players that age to not have that consistency.
I’m not saying he is a bad player here just that he was never going to be in the top tier, even though the money spent on him indicated he should be (not his fault by the way)
He absolutely had the talent to become that. But sadly instead of ironing out his weaknesses he just checked out. And yes, there were a few warning signs, but nothing so severe that I would have expected this development. I was pretty sure that he could become a 15g+15a per PL season player.

What a colossal wanker this guy is.

According to the Norwegian MU podcast I frequently listen to, Rashford was in Sanchos "corner" during Sancho vs ETH situation.. so this stupid comment from Sancho doesn't surprise me.

he's on a wind up - he took shit while he was here, for years (rightly wrongly? i dont care) so i'm not surprised to be honest.

he's gone just move on.... or you'll be going back and forth over this for way more time than its worth (none)

Thanks. Hope its true. Would help the club and fans a lot to have him out of the door come summer transfer season
Yep. Pretty sure Romano has posted about the clause, so it should hold up. Sancho has been a disaster overall, but after what he has shown in this league, getting £20m and moving on is probably best case scenario. He will be someone else's headache going forward.

Can really comment on that as I did not follow his early career closely. When we were constantly linked with him I checked out some highlights but was never in awe of him. A lot of his assists were simple passes where the scorer did quite a lot of work to finish.

He never gave me the vibes of a top player. Understand this will probably look a bitter viewpoint as it’s after the event now and it didn’t turn out well but it was my thoughts at the time. My assessment of him was that he was a coward - probably very harsh in retrospect but my definition of a top player is one that achieves high standards and stays on top of his game. When things are not going well they don’t down tools they try harder.

He's a player on loan from the club, insulting the club and this is a Utd forum. Not everything is the old 'rent free in the head' scenario. I know you feel like you need to side with him cause he plays for Chelsea but come on.
This thread was busier than Piccadilly Circus before his Insta message.

There's definitely a lot of people on here with a Sancho obsession and to pretend otherwise is silly.

Was overrated at Dortmund even the first time. Doesn't have the pace, intelligence, attitude, reading of the game, physicality or intelligence of a decent player.

:)

Weak character etc ..

Which one was worse? Him or MM? Mindblowingly bad. Would this incompetence occur in any other industry?

Obsession to not do well, then yes. I would love nothing but him to fail wherever he goes.

Players leave and thats fine, I like to see players like McTominay, Elanga, Garner do well and succeed.

Sancho however; I want to see him fail. The way he treats Untied fans, after all the love he got from us, which was not warranted either.

He is a immature loser with a weak mentality. Glad to see him have support from Chelsea fans, he will need it.

Every thread is like that tbf. Everyone obsesses over every aspect of Utd. Threads are regularly bumped about players who left ages ago or are no longer relevant.

Don’t think it’s obsession mate. I just think we’re all a bit astounded at the club’s stupidity and his arrogance and lack of self awareness. If you lot manage to make a player of him, then well done but he is weak in every way and… he won’t make it in the PL Little boy in every way

Edit: should have saved my breath. Just seen previous comments. They know yknow. We’ve had Pogba, martial, Lingard, Rashford all tearing it up elsewhere. Right. .. and Sancho is probably the worst We’re shit atm but still, 99% the only way is down when you leave United

Good post. Agree entirely with that.

How many games was it Sancho had to play for chelsea before the clause kicks in and they have to pay the money at the end of the season to keep him??

This is true, but still he was the only player in the league playing so many of these "simple passes". It's just his style, and it was highly effective. But he never was a flashy high speed winger and if you looked for that you would be disappointed.

He did. He really fought and dragged Dortmund to their last title (the German cup). And in other phases he didn't.

The expected development of such a player of his age is that he matures and becomes more consistent at his top level. He did the opposite.

And as I said, ups and down are normal for youngsters (and you didn't provide a counter example). 20yo Sancho was a gem that needed to be polished. Instead he shattered for some reason.

Of course he would be. They’re close and have spent holidays together. Good riddance to both.

I have asked this question before and the answer I got was that he'd be theirs if Chelsea finish higher than 14th in the league. If true, I guess he is not our problem anymore.

Accusing anyone on the internet of being obsessed by anything is always silly

From what he has shown so far, he is only proving that Ten Hag was in the right on him anyway.

Chelsea will find a way to flog him to Leipzig or Milan for 30M and it will all be forgotten.
That is so obviously going to happen. It’s why I think it was never a risky transfer for them. Sancho’s in his mid 20s so there will be buyers from around Europe and probably for same fee they buy him from us.

Sancho, Pogba, Rashford, Lingard… All these annoying characters we’ve had over the years. I get playing for big clubs from young age and being big talents affected them, but still. Would always have players like Maguire and Valencia, being top professionals and giving their all before these self-entitled superstars.

I genuinely do not care about this guy. He's absolute shite, for starters. Literally no one will remember him in 10 years time. I just can't wait to get him off our books.

Shows how bizarre fans are. Guy was living the life whilst taking his full wage, just because he didn't get on with this manager. He's just an immature entitled p#### and glad he's out of my club.
Took the pish out of the club and the fans, some of whom didn't see through him very early on.

There is still a lot of United fans who would take Sancho back in a heartbeat.

They say because he is "technical", I mean the same fans had big problems with McTominay passing back and sideways, Sancho is worse.

He is an attacker with no threat. I cant recall any PL game, let alone a purple patch in 3 years that makes me think... that game he was a menace to the opposition.

3 seasons for a supposedly top player to have 0 influence under various managers.

Sancho is a child. Comments like that inevitably come back to bite.

Also see that a lot of Chelsea supporters turning on him now - fed up with his lack lustre performances - their problem now though.

Good riddance.

The whole Sancho / Rashford / etc. situation is rather interesting and I would love to know exactly what has been going on behind the scenes at United in the past decade. For a club (due to SAF basically) that had complete control over the players and if they were cnuts they were kicked ASAP to a club having far too much player power. What the hell has gone on there.

Fergie stepped down and Ed stepped in. In short.

When you make a finance guy football executive that's what you get.

Would not expect anything less from these two muppets.

Just sums up their mentality. Paid 300k a week, and think that leaving the club means they are "free".

Free from criticism. Free to be lazy. Free to be late and give minimal effort while being out of the spotlight I suppose. Glad we got rid.

Everyone saying that he had issues with Ten Hag, why come out and post these sort if the issue was Ten Hag? Its a real dig at even the United fans.

It just shows the mentality of both players who are paid 300k plus. Getting paid top dollar but when they are asked to work like other footballers, they cry that the work is too hard.

I am glad he will be Chelsea's problem, probably give him a 7 year contract to play FIFA

Genuinely, what has Rashford done here - like, in this specific instance?

Rashford was apparently one of those encouraging Sancho to apologise to ETH. Sancho clearly has real issues with United (be fascinating to hear about them at some point given it seemed to be aimed at ETH on the past - which is clearly no longer an issue).

Ignore the little twonk.

In his little mind, every United fan reacting to anything he says is a win.
Would be easier to ignore, if the club weren't subsidising his wages and he's still contracted here. Highly unprofessional conduct, I look forward to when he turns on his boyhood club :nono:
