Jadon Sancho - Chelsea (loan) watch

At the moment he's like a much worse version of Hazard, which isn't a bad thing. Similar in style but less plug and play. Hazard could fit into any system under any manager and be the best player every week, whereas Sancho seems to be more reliant on his teammates movement and a particular style of play to show his best form.

His ball retention and creativity with his passing around the box is much like Eden was though. So far so good.

It's the hope that gets you.

The "ignore" button exists for a reason.

I just used it for you.

I will be posting in the general how boozed up I get at the derby tomorrow so your loss mate.

Upsetting that I will not get a Leicester fans perspective anymore but I'll hope to move on.

He's streets ahead of any of your wingers. Enough said.
Like how you wrote that nonsense and finish it of with enough said.

Also if Amorim doesnt put up with Rashford and Garnacho stuff he certainly wouldnt put up with Sancho's which he has a history of too.

Hazard was really fast with ball. Not sure Sancho has that pace.

Sancho - 2 goals and 5 assists.

Garnacho - 8 goals and 4 assists.
Rashford - 7 goals and 3 assists.
Amad - 4 goals and 6 assists.

“Streets ahead”.
And we've been largely dogshit too.

Happy he's doing well. If you can get the pre-United Sancho out of him, he's got the potential to be the best player in the league, IMO, and it would be nice to see him prove it in his home country

Completely unmoved by his resurgence at Chelsea. He's always had the technical skills but not the focus, work rate and mental fortitude to keep this up. Especially when things start to not go well for him. I do wish him well at Chelsea though.

Also, despite the talk, he's still the weakest player in that starting Chelsea attack. Jackson and particularly Palmer are streets ahead of him and the stars of that attack. Madueke and even Fernandez have both better G/A stats than Sancho. He's basically becoming more consistent for them and he is an improvement on the wildcard that is Mudryk, that's about it. Personally, I have seen enough over previous seasons (and the current one too) to prefer Garna over him, for that LAM role. Despite the latter's faults.

The only thing that hurts a little, which is unrelated to Sancho himself, is that Mount has failed to make a mark here due to his injuries. So it certainly feels like Chelsea got the better of this "exchange" of sorts.

As always on these things, where is the context?

On bench or kicked out of squad for the Newcastle, United, Arsenal run of games after being crap versus Pool. But did well versus Palace, Soton, Spurs, Brighton and Heidenheim, often in cameos in the latter parts of games, hence why the per 90 stat will be high. If he keeps getting minutes in the Europa conference he'll keep getting insane G+A because you're playing mechanics and plumbers.

Sancho - 2 goals and 5 assists - 679 minutes

Garnacho - 8 goals and 4 assists - 1452 minutes
Rashford - 7 goals and 3 assists - 1501 minutes
Amad - 4 goals and 6 assists - 1315 minutes

“Streets ahead”.

Just added the minutes everyone's played for added context. I don't believe Sancho is 'streets ahead' of every United winger but raw stats doesn't really tell us anything when comparing players in this manner.

Pretty sure he only played in the conference league while he was getting back to fitness after his brief spell out of the team. The players that start league games typically don't even get included in the squad for conference league games, so as long he's keep his place in the A team, as people like to call it, he won't get many minutes in the conference league, if any.

Will be interesting to see if he can break into your first XI regularly, as I understand it he's basically been an impact sub bar the last two games. I get the impression he might be someone who is constantly flitting between teams.

Schadenfreude aside, it is clear to me that he would never have succeeded at United, even if he stayed, given the deterioration in the relationship.

He clearly has to be potential to be a great player. Sometimes players need a new environment to flourish or improve.

Disagree.

Amorim has given everyone a new slate & for the first time we have stuck tactic over trying to build a team of individuals that both Ole & Ten Hag did.

Sancho & Amad would be our most creative and balanced wide CAM's (Sancho in yesterdays Mount position) but ultimately we couldnt make him drop his wages unless he moved to a different club.

Keeping Ten Hag for a few extra months really was unnecessary & Sancho deserved a chance under a quality manager which might be seeing under Marseca.

Remember Ten Hag didnt rate or give chances to Amad - so for Sancho to perform under Ten Hag was just as hard.

Reckon he would fit in pretty well in Amorim’s system. Much better than Garn and Rash. Attitude is still a problem but I don’t really blame him for having issues with Eth either. Eth was clearly a moron when evaluating training performance.

He's been in the matchday squad 11 times. He started in 7, came off the bench in 3 and was an unused sub in 1. He was out of the squad for 2 games, illness vs Arsenal and ineligible vs United. I would say he's more of a starter than a sub at this point.

I just never got the impression he enjoyed his time here, irrespective of who was managing him.

He's in a better environment for himself now. Playing reasonably well in a system that fits his abilities as a player.
He always was, stylistically, a odd choice for us.

I generally prefer my “streets ahead” players to be available for more than the odd 45 minutes here and there, when they’re not too tired from staying up half the night playing Fortnite with all their intellectual peers.

You're probably right. Sancho for you was a bit like Lukaku for us. I do not care if he turned into a Ballon d'Or winner in Serie A, he just needed to get out of my club. Sancho does have the potential to be a good player for us. I like what I've seen in recent weeks. From the outside looking it, it looked like his situation at United had become untenable.

That's not the Sancho I've experienced so far. He still has the potential to prove you right of course but so far he's been available for all but 1 game.

Look mate, you're welcome to him. If he can keep it up then good on him, but a leopard can't change its spots.

I guess Tuchel will call him up.
Be interesting to see how Tuchel might utilise him and, in general, what kind of playing style we'll witness under the German.
