Jadon Sancho - Chelsea (loan) watch

Its good for him if its going better. We should just focus on our build. I don't think hel have a fairytale story at Chelsea as time goes on, as his issue in the PL is always sustsined consistency, but lets see.

Why are people lamenting the loss of this gowl?

He had his chance at Utd at did feck all, he's going to be Chelsea's problem for the next 7 or 8 years.

He’s great when it’s all rosy like at Dortmund and (currently) Chelsea.

He’ll down tools again once the going gets tough.
Neither Chelsea nor Dortmund are clubs where players can coast as a passenger. Even the likes of Salah and KDB couldn't nail a starting spot at Chelsea, currently Felix and Mudryk are finding it difficult to crack the first XI and they too been accused of being soft while Sancho is statistically Chelsea's most productive winger.

Fairs. That was an excellent performance. I thought Madueke’s cameo off the bench vs Villa then his MOTM performance vs Southampton was enough to cement his place for this game, but credit to Maresca tbh, and fairs to Sancho. Hope we see this level from him consistently.

Hate to say it but good performance from him today tbf
Seems to be settling in at Chelsea and starting to show the form that we splurged 70 mil on.

He's doing well and anyone who thinks otherwise just isn't watching closely enough.
It will be interesting to see if it continues.
There appears to be a bit of interest among the Utd contingent. It's a long season.
He was mysteriously out of the squad a few weeks back and was apparently 'sick. The illness was unusually long but he has come back really well.
Definitely a player to watch in the coming months. If he can seriously get his attitude right he has all the attributes to be back in the England setup.

For the most part he was useless with us. Bad attitude and lots of games where he didn't look mentally or physically strong enough for the PL.

However, if he's a player Amorim thinks can work in his system and can get the best out of, then it might be worth giving him another try. He has better technical ability and vision than Garnacho and Rashford so he'd be far better suited to that number 10 role than those two. That position probably doesn't require the same physical strength or pace as an out and out winger.

Personally, I don't like the guy. And if Amorim doesn't want anything to do with him, fair enough. But we don't have the luxury of insisting all our players are nice guys. I'd be happy with a team of 11 arseholes if the results were good!

You must have missed the part where we have effectively sold him unless Chelsea somehow finish below 14th in the table .

He is not coming back .

No, I don't know all the terms of the deal! OK, how much do we get for him from Chelsea then?!

I believe its either 20m or 25 m depending on where Chelsea finish in the table .

Why is there so much pining for him from some United fans then if he's effectively gone? I just assumed there was an option to take him back!

Oh well, no point even thinking about him then!

Good performance and peach of a goal in the Spurs game. Good to see him enjoying his football again.

Its on Ten Hag that he couldnt get the best out of Sancho. He was never a touchline hugging winger, playing him like that was asinine.

Selling him for 20-25M, and keeping 100M Antony is typical United.

Oh well.

Normally I would agree but Ten Hag tried his best to give him mental health leave to help him settle in and he was rewarded with lack of effort and very crap performances. I would have sold him as well.

Glad he is doing well.

Shows United supporters knows f all about a players mentality.

Just consistently judging a players mental abilities by their physical abilities on the pitch

Would have been great under Amorim & fits Garnacho's role to a tee.

Shame but wages are probably too high.

He didn't perform for any of the other managers he had here either.

He seems to be a luxury player (if that term exists) playing well and flying when the team is on the up and clicking, not one to lift a struggling team

Not true. He was one of the few good performers under Rangnick(along the likes of Dalot, Fred, Elanga etc). He didnt play much w/ Ole, and ETH never knew how to use him.

The game yesterday was the exact sort of wide open game he thrived in when he played in Germany. If he can play teams as desperate to not defend well as Spurs every week he's going to look great.

Rangnick is very overrated at United imo.

People talk him up as this amazing manager - the fact is every manager we have had post fergie has been not good enough or from the past generation like LVG & especially Mourinho who came in a good 5 years too late.

Alot of our players get a lot of stack but get called upon like their individually not delivering whilst the whole team are playing consistently well.

The fact is all the team has been shit for a decade now due to many reasons - so then to single handedly blame a single player out of the whole team and management is doesnt make sense.

I personally hope Sancho's loan where Chelsea have to sign if they drop lower than 14th is just bullshit because it seems like such an unusual and unneeded clause to have where Chelsea have to be relegated for them to not sign Sancho.

Is it to beat FFP?

This is not me overeacting to his performances suddenly at Chelsea - but under Amorim he would have played more like Hazard at LAM rather than trying to make him or Garnacho play like Ronaldo on the LW trying to supply a striker.

He had a weak start under Ole, then were Ok but nothing more in the three games we played under Carrick when everybody played at full throttle, and then for a part of Rangnick era he was okayish to somewhat good with some very weak games thrown in, sinking to bad towards the end. This was enough for me to be one of the 4-5 best players under Rangnik in total. Then picked up under Ten Hag where he had a few good games before he petered out and eventually went to Amsterdam for a few months.

If you add most of his games under Soutgate, Terzic and Maresca, he has been a €25m player fairly consistently since 2021. Maybe he got long covid?

I had no issues selling him. He never wanted to be here was obvious from day one. But £25 million was a joke. Probably more reason why Ashworth leaving is not looking a bad thing.

Toxic player that I don't want to see at United anymore. Thankfully he is not our problem anymore.

Played well but it's Sancho. This won't last

He is looking fitter and quicker each passing week.

His tracking back is not an issue either and he scored again.

I was unsure about his signing but he’s clearly working hard.

He seems to fit the style of play and is looking a bit like how Willian played for you. With Sancho the key is time - can he keep focused. However, it has to be admitted that £25m and getting him to drop his wages is looking like a decent deal currently. Although, don't be surprised if he downs tools and picks up his joy pad in a couple of months time.

We keep being told this is going to happen and it's December already.
Plus, I don't blame United fans for not knowing this, but a lot of our top performing players love their game pads as well. I'm sure Sancho is more than glad having Palmer and Madueke over at the house than say Casemiro and Bruno. Footballers are humans too, being happy in an environment that feels welcoming is just as important as your natural ability on the pitch. It's not mental weakness, it's human nature.

The main thing was getting his wages reduced and ultimately off the books.
Ruben has stated that to win in England the players have to run like mad men....Sancho would never be in one of his teams.

We can't do that anymore though. Chelsea are obliged to buy him at the end of loan and we have no say in that.

He was pretty much on strike, we are lucky we got that.

Seeing how the Sancho signing is turning out, I would take a punt on Antony for 15 mil. In fact, i would even gamble on Maguire. We need a solid CB with Fofana being fragile.

You love bumping this thread
He is our player and he's doing well. after all.
ETH has finally left the club and we have a new manager.
How's that not interesting for us?

He has a 20m obligation with Chelsea which only doesn't get activated unless Chelsea finish somewhere like midtable.

Hes virtually not our player now.
