Jadon Sancho - Chelsea (loan) watch

My point proves how pointless stats are. Wouldn’t compare Sancho with Wan Bissaka but they are level on goals scored. You keep bigging up Sancho after a good performance. I would prefer to keep players like Amad.

Who has 1 goal.

He has 6 assists which shows hes doing great. Sancho has 3 on top of 2 goals, hes doing great

Just judging players who arent even strikers on goals is silly. Thats all you've proven

Is that stats in the PL or including the Conference League where they are playing poor opposition? No you’ve shown that bigging players up after one game is pointless. Rashford has a good G/A record this season but I wouldn’t call his performances impressive.

Premier league. Best you get your bearings before you post again

He was very good today tbf the complete and utter wankstain. Though he probably won’t play against a team that self destructive giving him that much time and space.

How much do you think he'd cost on the open market?

He's only played 5.5x 90 mins in the league (+90 mins in a conference game) so its hard to say based on that alone despite essentially getting a goal or assist every game. But he's clearly rejuvenated to some degree and at worst there's hope he could recapture his Dortmund form. £55-60 million if he's doing just as well as now after say 10 premier league games worth of mins (x2)

Man Utd players are like crypto, you sell them and they start pumping.

Why are people so surprised at Sancho being decent?

It’s not his ability that’s the problem, it’s his stinking attitude.

When the going gets tough, he’ll be the first to throw spit the dummy out.

We’ll be better in the long run without him.

Playing in a winning side helps. Nobody is gonna be slagging Chelsea/Sancho off while they are in the Top 4.

Not being the main man helps. Having Palmer put on a show keeps the attention off Jadon.

Being the 4th winger at Chelsea is a good fit for Sancho.

He was a kid playing for a manager on a toxic team and was told he wasn’t any good in training. It doesn’t look like had any other issues with clubs except under ETH who turned out to be a disaster. Looks like he’s turning back into the prospect he was supposed to be before he was ruined at united.

During the commentary on the radio when he scored Clinton Morrison referenced Sancho being shown love by Maresca and having his mojo back. You’d have to wonder how much love this guy needs after the patience and extra effort shown to him by ten Hag. He was basically given the season off and still had a shitty attitude when he returned. The guy is a clown.

He was shit under Ole. He was shit under Rangnick. He was shit under Ten Hag. He was shit when he went back to Dortmund (aside from one game against PSG). He's largely been shit at Chelsea up until today.

He was always perfectly capable of turning up and knocking in a great goal once in every 20 odd matches. Let's see if it's anything more substantial this time.

Let’s be honest, every winger in the league would look good against that spurs defence right now. Suicidal high line with bang average defenders filling in for their main centre backs. Sancho will be back to type as quickly as he always does. There’s a reason we got rid of him for cheap. Same reason he won’t last at Chelsea either.

Let’s not pretend he’s been ripping it up since he’s gone to Chelsea. He’s been pretty crap in the main. Having a rare have decent performance is the least that can be expected now and again.

Spot on

You must not watch Chelsea at all. He has not been shit at all.

I've seen a fair bit of you this season, but before tonight (which was of course a very good performance, some nice bits of link up play around the Spurs box and a great goal), I've only really seen the same Sancho we saw at United.

Mostly a passenger, safe sideways passes, no real penetration or intensity.

Then again you must not be watching. I’m not even saying he has been great. He has had some really nice moments. Could you point out the games he has been shit? It should be easy as you said he has been mostly shit. He has played good. He is a rotation player. When he has played there is not one game he has been a liability to have him out there. I am actually shocked at how much he is hustling back to defend… he is not very good at defence, but he is hustling back.

Before today he had 1 goal and 3 assists (4 total) in 403 mins or 4.5 matches

He had 15 goals and assists in 3680 mins or just under 41 matches for Utd in the league

He's been nothing like at United. He has end product

There is more to the game than goal and assist numbers.

One of those assists saw him pass sideways to Jackson somewhere near the halfway line, for the West Ham defence to stand there and watch him run 40 yards to score. Another one he played a poor pass into the box that 2/3 defenders could have got, they all stood there and looked at each other and Nkunku stole in and scored. His goal was the 5th of 5 against 10 man relegation fodder.

Today is the first time he made a real, meaningful impact on a game. Let's see if he can keep it up.

Mate, he’s been very solid since he arrived. One of our better attacking players.

Because he struggled to beat his man and looked slow as feck anytime he played for us

Probably team structure at United wanted to play him like Ronaldo. He is good before today and nothing bad about him.

I knew it's hypothetical but if he didn't score last match he wouldn't have had that shot today. Confidence matters as a player in my opinion.

Neto won't be available for next pl game so he will be a sure starter without a doubt. Will see where he is after December but for me he looked good in blue shirt.

Enzo Maresca is simply better than the dross that coach Utd in recent seasons so he's getting the best out of Sancho unlike ETH. Even our very own terrorball expert Edin Terzic got Sancho performing as a creative 10 last season so it's more of a Utd problem. The painful truth is that Utd has a proven knack of making their star signings look like a shadow of their former selves: Falcao, Di Maria, Van der Beek, Depay, Martial, Sanchez, Mount, Pogba, Schweinsteiger, Lukaku, Kagawa, Mata, Maguire, Zlatan, even CR7 on his return. The list goes on.... Anthony, Onana, De Ligt used to be one of Europe's most coveted CBs but now looks like an immobile oaf against Nottingham. If >50% of your star signings play worse than they used to elsewhere, there's clearly some internal issues in the club preventing expensive signings from settling in comfortably since it's not exclusive to Sancho who's lucky to have rebounded well unlike Van der Beek.

One of the biggest obstacle to Utd's success is its reputation as a career graveyard, you can barely name any players (Bruno Fernandes?) who have reached greater heights and improved after joining Utd. I cannot stand Man City at all but after seeing how Pep handled Gündogan's ACL injury and improved Akanji as a CB, it's hard to deny that they picked the right club for career development especially when comparing Haaland, Gündogan, Akanji's treatment and success to Kagawa, Mkhitaryan or Sancho. The difference is night and day and young BVB players are probably told to consider other clubs if they want to make the right choice for their future.

And that goes for Bruno and De Bruyne too.

Sancho is shit regardless. Enough said.

They were saying the exact same stuff at Dortmund last season. It’s pathetic.

Yeah most aren’t getting this.

It’s all good. I’m not bothered at this point

He’s great when it’s all rosy like at Dortmund and (currently) Chelsea.

He’ll down tools again once the going gets tough.

He’s not a certain starter for me. He’s still very much a rotational option. Madueke and Neto should keep starting ahead of him for me, but when Maresca wants Neto on the right, then yes Madueke will have to drop to the bench and Sancho then becomes the best option for the left side.

He will start against Spurs on the weekend and not because Maresca wants Neto on the right. He's given Maresca exactly what he wants in his recent appearances and at a higher quality on the ball than Madueke. His technical intelligence means he has the possibility to do it more consistently as well (against any opposition). Let's see.
*wink*

He now has the 'tools' to take his game to another level. His defensive work rate and positional awareness have improved to the point of him being a nailed-on starter for the next period of (PL) fixtures. I'll back him to excel but even if he doesn't, the fee and backup options available 2make it all the more acceptable.

I mean, as much as I hate to say it, Sancho is having the last laugh now…unless his attitudinal issues surface again if/when Chelsea hit a dip in form. We are a joke of a club

I mean he's been benched and is far from a guaranteed starter, unlike at Dortmund. If his levels drop Chelsea have more than enough players to see him back on the bench
