Jadon Sancho - Chelsea (loan) watch

I expect he will get more confidence and in the long run be sold for profit. I have enjoyed him this season, but I doubt he wants rotation player for his career.

He’s not a certain starter for me. He’s still very much a rotational option. Madueke and Neto should keep starting ahead of him for me, but when Maresca wants Neto on the right, then yes Madueke will have to drop to the bench and Sancho then becomes the best option for the left side.
He will start against Spurs on the weekend and not because Maresca wants Neto on the right. He's given Maresca exactly what he wants in his recent appearances and at a higher quality on the ball than Madueke. His technical intelligence means he has the possibility to do it more consistently as well (against any opposition). Let's see.

He’ll always look better at Chelsea or Dortmund because he has more technically proficient players around him who are on his wavelength. Playing our Ole Ball or Suicide Ball under Ole and ETH is not suited to him at all. Put him in a team that values possession, intricate interplay etc, and he’ll shine.

It’s that simple for me. Garnacho and Rashford are more effective under these managers because they can run faster. They don’t have his ability. I actually think he might have suited Amorim more than the previous coaches, but at least we’ve got Amad who is shining.

I mean, if he was going to score, of course it was the fifth of five goals against 10 man relegation fodder.

This is the correct take. He's a final third facilitator, not an isolation or transition player. When he has runners or other nearby options his passing is always a threat and on top of that he's extremely good at feinting combinations - it's what allows him to get past defenders despite limited physical attributes.

Seems like he is enjoying footballing at Chelsea and maybe back to his United first/second season performances which were decent if he wasnt on such a disproportionate wage & transfer fee.

Still think Amorim would have gotten the best use out of him - a right footed AM that can drop wide LM and stretch out the play to play balls in to a striker just explains Sancho's football at Dortmund to a tee. All except maybe pressing which he may have done more with such a in your face type of manager Amorim seems to be.

However, i think Ineos are trying to recycle the wage structure at United by letting go of Sancho, Casemiro and Rashford as soon as possible so couldn't dismiss Chelsea's offer.

However, still theres a small part of me that still would like him to have even had half a season under Amorim because as others have said - he does and should play better in a possession based team than counterattacks and i genuinely believe Amorim will be better than Maresca in the long run because of how much time United tend to give their managers. So whilst i know letting him go was the right decision, theres a part of me where the Chelsea obligation to buy unless they fall under 14th is just purely a rumor because it seems very unrealistic unless its just a way of Chelsea trying to manipulate the FFP.

I appreciate that playing Arsenal / modern Stoke is frustrating but yes of course? Especially as it was being bumped for far less noteworthy news items such as "being ill" and "picking up a knock in training".
Scoring a late 5th against a poor 10-man team is really not noteworthy. All the fanfare that he’s receiving and this was actually his first goal in nine games too.

I think for £25m and a wage drop it’s a good deal for all parties. Utd get rid of a player they haven’t got the best out of, we get a decent rotational winger for a reasonable fee and Sancho gets to play for his boyhood club with less expectation.

United fanfare.

It's fanfare about United, chief.

Same thing. A player fails at United and is ridiculed by all and sundry. He then leaves, puts together three or four decent performances and it's United who have 'poisoned' him, somehow.

When the player's form recedes, those hypocrites now championing him fall silent until there's another goal or 'assist'.

Ad infinitum.

Is the fanfare in the room with you right now?

If Chelsea fans are happy with him fine. I’m just happy he’s gone. And for 25m! That’s a great deal for how worthless he was for us.

Sure is. Has 3 assists as well so 4 g&a in 403 mins

Rashford has 5 g&a in 952 mins

As a backup winger Chelsea got the better one so far with their agreement

Amad and Garnacho are doing better.

You love bumping this thread

Hardly ever bump this thread, but yes if people want to bump it when he’s left on the bench or misses a game because he’s ill, Im happy to bump it when he does something actually worth discussing on the pitch, good or bad.

5g/a in 9 PL, 6 starts and 500mins played.
Decent buy for 25m anyone could ask for.

He did well today. Fortunately, we have a dedicated Sporting Director in charge of transfers now to get those future decisions right.

Onwards and upwards.

Absolutely fantastic footballer. His ability to keep the ball when being pressed is Hazard like. And then when he gets in in the final third defenders are scared to lunge in on him.

Perfect winger in Maresca’s system as I said midweek.

He's also a bit Hazard-like in his unprofessional approach to time off

He's a good fit for Chelsea with the possession based game so it was always going to work out unless he had mentally retired from football and was just picking up his money

I think that was genuinely the first 8 out of 10 performance I've ever seen him put in in this league. He actually ran a lot and covered ground.

I'm sure many people will bash EtH again, forgetting he never really played well for Ole or Ralf either, but maybe he's happier at Chelsea and suits their system.

He had this here, but didnt provide goals and assists. Thats the main difference. He would keep the ball and while lower on confidence, he would sometimes take on a player but when it came to shooting the efforts were poor

As said previously, there's a player there.

Funny enough, I think he would have liked Amorim's warm approach - and I think he's a better fit for the role we've been trying Garnacho for

voiced my unhappiness then, but £25M? fecking hell

Assuming he carries on getting goals and assists like he has done this season, yes he's exactly what we're looking for in a 10

He was good today but he was against Tottenham who were wide open. Let's see what he does in bigger games
