Ooh ok i get where you are coming from, Sancho's experience in BL wouldn't guarantee he would be up to speed with PL immediately (he might but not guaranteed).

For Amad, i truly think he was brought in with an eye to the future, he is immensely talented and was available so the club decided to bring him in, and Sancho is being brought in to improve the first squad immediately, at least this what i think the club is planning.

Do you think we’d have signed Amad too if we got the Sancho deal done last summer?

Can never say for sure, but I doubt we’d have committed to the Amad deal if we got Sancho. When signing two players in the same position who are 18 months apart for money that matters - I don’t think where they are at that present day matters much. The idea is, surely, that you want one to fill a position long term. And common sense says that they can’t both fill it. Sancho being further ahead doesn’t really matter right now. People keep talking about ‘sorted for 10 years’ - and from that perspective, where both players are in their first year or 18 months isn’t that important to me. If ‘right now’ was so important, then I’d go and get a 28 year old.

i had been a little concerned that we seem to be having a free run at a player that you’d expect to be in demand at a lot of clubs if he’s as good as claimed. why is it seemingly only us interested in playing ball? sancho is seemingly available at a price not unobtainable to a lot of clubs. i’m sure with some creative budgeting 80m isn’t out of reach for the majority of the bigger cl teams.

i took it upon myself to phone 20 or so big clubs and managers to try and get the inside scoop. did they attempt to get a sanchon or was it never sanchon or a complete sanchoff?

the lady at city’s ticket office was completely gormless. though she did admit to being a bit taken back as it was the first time the phone had rung since she started work there 6 years ago.

i managed to get through to arteta and ask him if he was interested in sancho, he seemed a little distracted as he was trying to shave his head and only really asked what pep was doing with regards to sancho. i got through to southgate and he’d never even heard of him.

hopefully it’s just a case of sancho wanting manchester and won’t consider a return to city. that he wants to be a big player at a big club, not just a cog in a machine like city or bayern. alongside us having 80m we can give upfront.
Proper bigday post mate.

You should call Spurs next. The fact you've heard of a player outside the league will probably land you a job offer.

I hope our representatives drive to Dortmund with a briefcase full of cash and slap every single bundle in the faces of Watzke and Zorc the dork.

i’d rather whore my mouth out for free at a one of the more niche berlin night clubs than manage spurs.

I do understand what Neville was saying - this is getting tedious. Footballs worst kept secret.

Decent chance he gets knocked out of the Euros tomorrow - maybe not too long after that. I doubt there will be any announcement while he's still there.
Yeah that’s why I’ve gone for Thursday, head home Wednesday, video shoot Thursday morning with the announcement from United Thursday evening

Oh, for tradition's sake:

Take a bow if you've ridden high across both threads.

I think like a few of you on here it'll be announced after the game Tuesday, I think it would be a good confidence booster if it was announced before thou.
Really hope it doesn't drag on much longer than that,

Big Month ahead, we will be closer than ever, but remember we would be only able to announce it after the NYSE opens, so only Mondays. #banter

Very good.

Huh? Lukaku was on hols in LA at the time, in the same villa as Pogba. He passed his medical and signed the contract in LA the day after the deal was announced. Sancho is on international duty for an unspecified time
I know. We still announced it pending medical. It happens all the time. Medicals can happen on international duty too.

There's no guarantee that both will be nailed on right sided attackers. Sancho as we know is better on the left and I really believe Amad could be a central attacking midfielder ala both Silvas or Mata even. In any case, if we signed Sancho last season, he walks into the team, Amad was a project signing so I don't believe it was one or the other.

In terms of building a squad and planning for the short term needs or long term ambitions what are you are saying is acceptable that the club's approach is not a well thought plan to put it mildly, had we brought in Sancho last year, certainly we can't say for sure but I doubt the club would've brought Amad, who cost the club a pretty penny, and as you say, isn't that much younger than Sancho himself who is also young.

It seems the club (Ole & his backroom plus the scouting/recruitment dept) see Sancho as ideal fit for the club, being young and very talented player, they probably believe he will improve the starting 11, hence why the club is determined to sign him this summer.
