I like most of the German fans on here. It’s always good to hear both sides.
It's simply an information advantage. I end up being better informed about PL matters, as well as those of other leagues, than even most German TV pundits or journalists, because I read all the opinions and knowledge of all those countless fans on here who aggregate what they hear and read. People on here devote massive time to collecting and debating knowledge about football, and they come from all over the world.
If Utd fans on RedCafe had been ready to utilize that opportunity to have an information advantage, they'd have known better about the Sancho transfer last summer than what the English media was telling them and what even the pundits thought. Instead, they chose to frame it as some bizarre league vs league PR battle.

Some reams of bullshit on here.

There were so many arguments here last summer where the German defense league fans were convinced that Sancho's price would stay at €120m euros this summer or may even go up, because a lot more clubs would be interested and covid effects would go away.

And would refuse to listen to reasonable United fans who told them otherwise that the price was going to come down dramatically over 12 months of losses for all the clubs.

Qué sorpresa, they are now not even acknowledging this anymore

but they have an information advantage. It’s not bullshit! The amount of fawning over Zorc last summer was both grotesque and comical.

it’s playing out as many predicted.

so much for your reading comprehension- YOU have the information advantage too

you're just not using it

The wait was worthwhile because paying £110 million last summer window during a pandemic would have been a joke.

Was it worthwhile if not having him was the difference between winning a trophy? All a hypothetical, of course. But I don't care about the club saving 30m (which would really be less than 10m during the last year, assuming an installment plan), while the Glazers take out another 20m+ for themselves.

Gary finds yet another thing to moan about

What a whiny Fanny. I wonder if Gary thinks Real Madrid fans were just as bored about finally getting Ronaldo after spending 2 to 3 years chasing him?

Sounds like a little baby. Sometimes the club isn’t prepared to sell and you just have to wait. But if it is your prime target, it will often be worth that wait.

I don't think it would've been worth a Europa League, FA Cup or Carling Cup.

I’m not going to worry about the past. In hindsight we clearly should have spent the 40m we wasted on Donny (who I think is a quality footballer, but Ole doesn’t) and completed the deal for Sancho. But here we are now. Wrap this up ASAP and move on to Varane and wrap that up ASAP.

the problem is that you think people who disagree with you aren’t exploiting this ‘information advantage’. You come across as someone who thinks they know more than they do - simply by repeating things that are said.

it was obvious that Dortmund would never get the fee they demanded last summer, the Zorc deadline was simply an attempt to force United’s hand that had no validity and that Dortmund would get a smaller fee this summer.

Job done. He’s got people clicking on him and commenting.

No amount of loudmouthing or revisionism will obscure the fact that you were obviously clueless last summer. And I mean you personally, from what I can read

Imagine Rashford - Greenwood(Martial) - Sancho interchanging and playing one touch all over the place with Bruno + Pogba behind them...

I’d honestly think that would be one of the most scary attacking lines in the world

All getting in each other's way trying to play on the left

Inappropriate Behavior
If I was your landlord I wouldn't let to live rent free. I'd charge a little bit despite feeling sorry for you. Would have to really to keep the books straight. Sorry.
You sound like you are from India. They tend to get flustered and start making less and less sense once you are in their head.

don’t forget to collate my view as part of your information advantage.

pleased to help. :D
There's surely countless things that I can learn from reading your posts, overall. Let's just say judging the 'validity' of Dortmund's deadline is the one exception :smirk:

If you guys are A) trying to get yourselves thread-banned, or; B) the thread locked, well done. It won't be long at this rate.

if United offered €120m and all other terms such as schedule of payments were acceptable - but this was 2 weeks after the ‘deadline’, do you genuinely believe it would have been rejected?

it’s all part of negotiation. Fergie famously said we wouldn’t sell Real Madrid a virus - wasn’t long after we sold them Ronaldo.

the main issue I have is that certain posters take as gospel what clubs say. It’s not the reality.

Ooh goody! What other stereotypical gems can you drop about other nationalities? I think the caf has folks from all over the world. We can even ask them to validate if your inferences are right or not.

Yeah bit strange that this concept is lost on a retired footballer (for a big club), a (failed) manager, and a club owner. Bizarre, but it is what it is.

You think taking the knee has anything to do with being against racism? It doesn’t. You need to stop reading The Guardian.

You accomplish exactly nothing in the fight against racism by taking the knee. It’s just a way to show weakness (as a society) and to make puppets feel that they are actually contributing to something. As a matter of fact it probably creates more racism as it increases the division between the perceived different identities, meaning it suggests that people of colour are different from white people. This is the point of the whole movement.

You are an individual, responsible for your, and only your, actions. You are not responsible for what other people have done historically. Just as people from Africa are not responsible for the slavery that is still going on in part of Africa today.

If you want to fight racism (an honourable quest indeed), do something substantial. Don’t hit on me for telling you the truth.

Are you sure it's accomplished nothing?

If I asked a room full of people to tell me which of them were absolute morons, I'd imagine very few if any would put their hands up. Footballers have been taking the knee for a few months and here we have scores of you clowns volunteering the information all on your own.

Every village should know who its idiots are.

Sancho was just at a different club at the same age. There’s no telling whether he was a different level at the same age. Numbers are silly with kids of that age. The data is so small. How many international goals did Sancho have at 18? Are we supposed to read something into the fact that Amad has more international goals at 18?

Amad will still be potential in 10 years if he never plays. All that means little. He’s 18, and hasn’t played much. At rhis age, such sweeping statements as you have made literally change within one month of football.
You evaluate young players the following ways: 1. Eye test 2. Performances 3. Statistics 4. Level of competition

You can argue that Amad hasn’t gotten the chance to play as Sancho and Greenwood have. But that’s your only argument. Literally every other factor we use to evaluate young players show that Sancho and Greenwood are both better than Amad at the same age. Given the amount of top level football Sancho and Greenwood have played — thousands of minutes, mind you — they are both well ahead of Amad. That doesn’t mean Amad won’t become a better player than those two, it just means that Amad is an unknown, at an older age, than either of those two.

I agree that Amad is a good prospect, but given the ambitions of our club, the need for results and trophies, I can’t see Amad getting much 1st team minutes this season, simply because there are proven players ahead of him. I’d say your debate is not whether Amad will be better than Mason or Sancho (assuming the transfer happens), but rather, will he be better than Dan James, because that’s his competition for squad minutes.

BTW, Sancho has more international goals, more appearances, more assists than Amad for the national team. Although he has 20 appearances, his minutes are equivalent to ten 90 minute matches and has 3 goals and 4 assists… I would also posit that making the England squad is a bit more difficult than Ivory Coast.

my intention is not to criticize Amad, but rather temper expectations. He’s a very good prospect, but he has to prove it in training and in PL matches before we announce him as the second coming of Messi.

German opening hours are until 10am, or even 12am, there's still certain shops that choose to close at 6 or 7am.
If I want to buy something from such a shop, I won't stand in front of it shouting "I'M NOT COMING IN YET! YOUR DEADLINE IS FAKE! OPENING HOURS ARE UNTIL 12!!"
It's just utterly bizarre behaviour.

Sure, they might still unlock the door again for me if I'm a bit late, they're still there and it suits them. But I won't get the thing I want at a reduced price showing up 4 hours after the shop is closed, that much should be clear.
