Laurie Whitwell in the article says:
  1. Negotiations have begun with Dortmund over Sancho, with them expected to take a lower price than 110m pounds this summer
  2. United want to pay around 80m pounds but Dortmund 20m more in addons, however discussions so far point to a compromise
  3. Ideally, they would like to wrap up the signing before the European Championship starts next weekend but it is recognised that with Sancho now having joined up with England this has added complications
  4. Rest some talk about Trippier saying how he wants to comeback and Varane's price is much higher than 35m quoted in the press.

We were supposed to identify Sancho as the long-term target since Ole took the job. Last summer we didn't succeed but we knew we would come back for him this summer. Why have negotiations only have begun recently? We couldn't have opened talk to them at any point last season? I thought transfer talks and negotiation could take place anytime in the year, and the transfer window is only for official document stuffs?

Happy JadOn Sancho Day!!!

We all know today won’t be the day... neither will tomorrow and neither will the day after that. We’ve got useless people dealing with transfers, what happened to the times when we use to sign 2 players at once?

:drool::drool:

Our starting bid - Lingard + Jones + £20m. We're keeping James up our sleeves for when they say no, that will really tempt them.

Pretty significant that we have started negotiating with Dortmund.

Athletic article says United want it sorted before the Euro's start next weekend.

But won't the england squad already be out there long before then? Surely if we want it done before the Euros it will have to be agreed today?

Has someone from United even made an official contact yet?

I guess we just need to have an agreement wrapped up with Dortmund. The medical can happen a bit later i guess.

The article does say that but also mentions that scenario to be unlikely due to the player being with England.

What a load of crap this is......If we wanted Sancho all along and Dortmond is flexible in price, why we wait till now and come up with this crap about waiting for sign before euros...

This is what is so wrong with the club....Imagine Sancho having a great Euros and Dortmund wants another 10m...and we spend the rest of the window negotiating and may finally sign him for the same fees on last day......Get business early for god sake

YOu never make any bids official until they have agreed to the basic of some term sheet. No body wants to be put in a position of being rejected 'officially'.

Have you done any negotiation for some major capital expenditure before? Like a house?

In all of this transfer nonsense and manufactured drama, I do occasionally have to remind myself that Sancho is an actual footballer, and he's brilliant. I yearn for the day this is all behind us and we can look forward to him playing football, for us.

Angry little muffin. Windows not even open yet, all the noise is we're trying to get it done early. Must be so dull choosing to constantly be annoyed.
