Jack Rodwell | Sold to City

Doesn't Pogba posses a lot of the qualities that Rodwell does? If so, given SAF's comments about us looking at what we have in terms of players coming through, before going into the market, surely we'll wait to see how Pogba handles the step up to the first team squad, until then I'm pretty confident in the players we have to fill in at central midfield.

All I have to say about this is that I hope Fergie doesn't end up paying silly moment at a desperate time like this (not that he is desperate but rather that this being the last day of the transfer window).

The last few pages of this thread really proves how much of a shithole the caf is.

You are all fecking knee jerk muppets, with no common sense or grasp on reality.

Honestly can't believe what some of you are writing.

Don't hold back. Tell us how you really feel.

Slightly related subject which may or may not be connected to this story but the odds in Moyes becoming Aston Villa manager have been cut to 11/4 from 33/1 in a short time this evening with skybet

There's no point in signing Rodwell if he's not going to play and we just do that whole reserves and occasional first team minutes thing with him. We have enough youngsters to do that with, some of which needed to go out on loan to get minutes.

Rodwell and players like him improve at the smaller clubs because they don't have the squad we have and so get more big game time. From his point of view he'd probably be better off staying at Everton for a season or two but by then if he's still doing well then his price would be mental.

currently I don't think we have anyone who can replace Fletcher in the starting line up and I think we need someone we can bring in to rest Fletcher cause he can't be at his best in the big games if he is playing 90% of the other games too, Rodwell could be that player. I also think Rodwell alongside Fletcher and a more attacking player would be very good when we play 451 in the big games. 442 alonside fletcher could work in some of the bigger games too allowing us to play 2 up top. there is plenty of scope to play him.

Pogba is 16-17. Just incase you didn't know..

I'm just defending the 'if' massive if Rodwell signs.. I don't really see any reserves midfielder that is above him to make you think it would be a usless signing. In regards for his game time he is still being used sparingly at Everton (don't make the Villa game fool you) so i don't get what will be the deference from sitting on United's bench and sitting on Everton's.

We haven't heard anything further since the sun rumour so I reckon it's cock back in time (if they were ever out in the first place)

And Rodwell is 19, there's not a real gap in age between the two, so if SAF rates Pogba to step up, and he has similar qualities to Rodwell, then I doubt he'd go after Rodwell, especially given his recent comments about looking at what we have coming through first.

Let me repeat that Pogba is 16. Unless he's the new Fabregas he won't be playing first team football for a lonngggg time!!

He's 17 and Dennis Irwin said in an interview that, Sir Alex had planned to give him a chance in the carling cup this season. His injury has come at an awful time but when he's fit, I wouldn't be surprised to see him get given a chance. We'll just have to wait and see if he's good enough or not I guess.

Sometimes Fergie just sees a special player he really wants to have. Rodwell could be one of those, and being english would be a major plus as well. Not this summer, though.

3 years is a long time in a young player's career. I guess we'll just have to wait and see Chief.
We will. Because Rodwell has 3 years and EPL experience over Pogba. For I honestly cant see us not going for a Rodwell like next summer, if SAF want's him because Pogba is down there in our youth ranks.

We should offer Pogba to Everton in return for £10m and Rodwell, that'd show 'em. Anderson and Carrick could swap places on the bench as a final insult.

WTF is going on in here, people are giving serious credit to the idea that we're offering Carrick in a part ex deal?!

 you've outdone yourselves here Kermits.

It was never gunna happen this Summer. He's not even getting in the team at Eveton at the min.

I would kill myself but the fact I have a save game on FM where he plays for us makes it a little easier

he isn't overhyped and that is really saying something.

Soon but not this year lads...

My Dad's a cab driver and he just drove Rodwell to Carrington. He's undergoing a stringent medical examination as we speak. He told my Dad he can't say too much, but it's a 5 year deal.

Hope you realise that some people will think you are serious :smirk:
